DISINGENUOUS, LIAR, AVOID UPASANA!! Read on…read more.. Upasana is one of the most disingenuous people I have met. I was a first time buyer and I found a new condo to purchase online and a friend recommended Upasana, so I reached out to her to be my realtor. She did not assist one bit in the purchase (what kind of creditors to choose for the mortgage, how to negotiate with creditors, what other potential houses to look at etc). In some of the new condo purchases, the builder gives a fixed cashback to the realtor and the realtor is free to share the cashback with the buyer. She did not dicuss about cashback and avoided topics on it until I visited the condo with her in person. I later found our that the first time a buyer visits in person to view a condo, the buyer records the name of the realtor as the realtor and there is no way to change the same. She then brought up the topic of cashback and lied to me that no such cashback exists. When I found out from the buyer that indeed there was a cashback, some of the things she said to dissuade me were "Money is not everything", "I do not give cashback since that is my 'policy'", "Her former buyer in mission hills called her during a fire, other agents cheat a lot and she's not like them". When I pursuaded her, she agreed to give a cashback which was only 50% of the usual cashback that a buyer gets from realtors. Other times she lied to me: I was travelling so I could not visit the condo during construction, so when I requested her to visit the same, she lied to me that it is illegal for a non-owner to visit - only to be proven wrong again. She was also in a hurry to get me to complete the contract, despite being my realtor and did not help whatsoever in any negotiations processes. I would strongly discourage anyone to use her as a realtor.
