It is more expensive for most things, but there are always trade offs. There is a health food area and I frequent it. I can get healthier snacks and things otherwise non-existent at Walmart. There is a pretty great cafe attached to the supermarket that has a good breakfast and I believe lunch and dinner. I reviewed that separately last time I was home. The store deli and bakery offer wonderful things. There is a meat counter that I use regularly when home. The store also has already prepared food and snacks. In addition to the cafe there is a pretty extensive liquor store also attached. They have a really good beer selection along with liquor. There is a gas station out front. For this tiny town it's a great grocery store.

This is clearly family run. We got there within an hour of them closing and our waitress was ducking out a bit early because she had a hair appointment but it's ok because "mom would run the food". BTW-they aren't joking about what time they take their last orders and I understand why. It did take some time for our food to come. It was just mom/grandma aka the best home cook making the food. There is no prep line or sous chef here. You legit get homemade, from scratch straight from the kitchen food. Just like mom makes. Or like moms used to make. So be patient.
