But…read morewere pleasantly surprised when we showed up to drop off a donation, the staff was friendly and helpful- of course, they accepted the gifts in kind with open arms and expressed gratitude. We asked if they minded if we looked around, so we popped in the back to see the dogs. The place was exceptionally clean and the place just looked beautiful, you can tell the staff really cares for all of the animals! Please consider adopting a dog before buying a purebred- these wonderful little babies need homes too!

We have had experience with two other animal rescue businesses and can tell you that PAR takes outstanding care of their rescues. The environment in which they live until they find their forever home is loving and they are individually and collectively very well cared for and loved. We couldn't be happier with Rocky, who was considered a special needs cat. He is shy but has really become attached to my wife and he is warming up to me too. Rocky has been with us a little over two months and has become a part of our family. He gets along very well with our Siamese female rescue Coco. They are nearly the same age (Rocky will be five in June/Coco will be five in August). So, if you've been thinking about adopting a rescue, please check out PAR in Lapeer, MI. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

4 Kindness Animal Rescue - Two adopted kittens

The adoption fee was an outrageous $950. The "foster" was also a bit gross but acted like she cared. I questioned the cat's condition, was told her eye goop was from allergies, asked about vet care and told she was recently seen and very healthy. I couldn't leave this poor creature with them. I've contacted just about everyone connected with this "organization" and nothing has been done about other kittens still being offered. This cat had a double eye & ear infection, a chest cold, fleas and was horribly malnourished. This organization is some sort of front for anyone pretending to be a foster that can't afford to take care of, or simply doesn't want to care for an animal. It makes me very sad that it can't be shut down.

BEWARE‼ PLEASE READ‼…read more If I could give "4 Kindness Animal Rescue" and "All of Us Animal Rescue" ZERO stars I would. On December 11, 2025, I contacted an animal rescue listed on Petfinder named All of Us Animal Rescue, also associated with 4 Kindness Animal Rescue and Michigan Maine Coon Rescue, regarding an orange tabby kitten named "Tiger." Petfinder lists All of Us Animal Rescue as being located in Ann Arbor, Michigan; however, based on our experience and subsequent investigation, I respectfully dispute this claim and believe the rescue operates out of West Bloomfield, Michigan. The phone number listed for All of Us Animal Rescue is: 248-905-1511. The email associated with the rescue is: allofusanimalrescue@gmail.com. All of Us Animal Rescue is operated by Dr. Stavit Measom, DDS, owner of Safari Dental in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Based on our experience, this organization appears to exploit the trust of well-intentioned adopters by significantly misrepresenting animals' backgrounds and health, misrepresenting breeds, and prioritizing profit over animal welfare. Dr. Measom pressured us to take possession of the kitten within a matter of hours and did not appear to follow a thorough or standard adoption process. My mother and I inquired about the kitten through Petfinder, which stated that All of Us Animal Rescue "has no adoption policies." The "adoption application" we were provided appeared to be a partial screenshot of an adoption application. On December 11, 2025, at approximately 4:00 PM, my mother and I met Dr. Stavit Measom at the Orchard Mall on Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield, Michigan-- specifically on the benches across from Toyology, which is located next to Premier Pet Supply. Dr. Measom did not disclose her name to us at any point. When we asked her basic questions about the kitten, her demeanor noticeably changed, and she appeared uncomfortable and evasive. We were required to pay a $500.00 cash adoption fee. Dr. Stavit Measom had heavily coated the kitten, "Tiger," whom we later renamed Nipsey, in lavender oil. Nipsey weighed approximately 1.5 pounds at seven weeks old, which is significantly underweight, as kittens of that age typically weigh closer to 2.5 pounds. Additionally, lavender oil is toxic to kittens and may cause serious health complications, including liver damage, respiratory distress, vomiting, drooling, and lethargy. On December 18, 2025, Nipsey was admitted to a local emergency veterinary clinic. Tragically, he passed away on December 21, 2025. Following this incident, I conducted extensive research into Dr. Stavit Measom and uncovered records and reports suggesting a pattern of similar concerns and alleged misconduct. There are also reports alleging that Dr. Stavit Measom's daughter, Hannah Measom, has been involved in dog theft incidents in the state of Tennessee. We are currently in the process of reporting this matter to the appropriate authorities and regulatory agencies. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Although there was a misunderstanding on my part, and I did not adopt from this Furever Tails, I…read morehighly recommend the vetting process. I fell in puppy love with an adorable little miss who was a stray maltipoo. The application was more in depth than any work application I have completed as a speech pathologist working in school with disabled students. This is a good thing because it got to who I was as a person and my history with dogs. Next, it asked for three recommendations and i gladly complied. The owner asks for proof of either owning your own home, or proof that your lease does not restrict dogs. Imagine if you adopt a dog and you cannot keep it because of a rental policy. The dog is on to another owner which can be traumatic for the baby and possibly for the new owner. The dog might be passed on from one owner to another rather than going back to Furever Tails and who knows in whose hands he/she will wind up. The final and most important part of the process in my opinion is your vet is called and, if you have had other dogs, the vet provides proof that you are a good prospective fur baby parent. Unfortunately, before my vet was called, and he was called a day later, my sweetie had "adopted" written on the picture. I thought that someone else had adopted her. I happened to call my vet to make an appointment for my doggie Angel, who had just lost her best friend who was killed by a speeding car and she was beside herself with grief. Furever Tails was on the phone at that same time and I explained that i had already adopted another little girl. It was love at first site with my malti-poo rescue but the process for the other dog was completed and the puppy was on her way. For those people who complain about the adoption process at Furever Tails, I have to say that the process is probably exhausting for the owner and she is showing due diligence to protect the babies in her charge. She does not have time for chit chat and has to keep the number of dogs at a minimum due to the comprehensive check she does on each animal. I commend her for doing the job she does.

Sorry to see the bad reviews here because my experience was nothing short of wonderful. We were at…read morethe pet event at Canterbury Village to get an idea of what breed, age etc we were wanting as our lady beloved dog had passed away 8 months ago. We had no hopes of adopting because I had seen how difficult it can be making contact with other rescues. And then it happened, we came gave to face with our new fur baby. As I said, we were not anticipating adopting on that day but the rescue volunteer went above and beyond to make it happen. There was no judgement or rudeness. She simply asked for our vets name and number so she could verify that our last dog had good care. Once she made the phone call, everything was up from there. She let us take the puppy for a long walk, went over all the medical issues, gave us medications, extra food and even a nice leash to get home. She had also pre booked our puppy's spay appointment. I wasn't prepared and didn't have enough cash so she took a check. I honestly can't say enough about this rescue. By the time we returned from our walk, she had already moved another dog into our puppy's crate and was actively looking for a nice home for that one. I fully understand why rescues now to be diligent with possible adopters and maybe some of them give other rescues a bad name but this rescue absolutely had only one mission in mind... finding a loving home for a dog. We stopped at the local pet store on the way home and loaded up on toys, snacks, food, crate, leash and even a few cute outfits. My home is now overrun with toys galore and a happy bouncing puppy that has filled our home with love. She also told me that if I had any issues I was welcome to call her at any time. She did say that it's difficult to answer calls so just text or email so maybe that's what happened to other posters. This woman is busy, finding homes for pets that have been abandoned or unwanted so it's understandable that answering the phone might not be so easy. I would not only adopt from them again, I highly recommend them as well if your looking for a pet. My Ellie Mae (A.K.A. Addie) has filled our home with love. Give this rescue a chance, you won't be sorry.
