My now fiancé surprised me with a 2 hour ride for my birthday. She knows how much I miss riding so this was the best present! I decided to surprise her and propose on our ride. I called Leonora and told her what I wanted to do and she said "I got you" check in with Bones when you get there. There was a change with our guide from Bones to Page but it worked out anyways because both men are great! Page told me where there was a good spot he could take us to, he'd hold on to my horse while I went and did my thing. We got to the spot and while she's still on her horse and taking pictures I went over while Page recorded on my phone and bent the knee. SHE SAID YES!!! We got back to the ranch and they surprised us with champagne to celebrate. It's those extra touches that made this day perfect! Page, you my man gave us not only a great ride with stories and history but you helped us create an incredible memory and we love you for that! The ranch is beautiful and well kept. Everyone we ran into were very nice and helpful. Hanging out with Bones and Page at the end was a plus. Really loved this place, the horses and everyone there. Thank you, you're all invited to the wedding!! Can't wait to go back for more rides!

My son and I had an awesome ride on Oreo and Radar! Thanks to handlers Frosty and Bones, we were prepared for an awesome trail ride. We definately will be visiting soon again and staying in a tiny house. Thank you so much for creating a lovely space Marilyn. And, thank you Leonora for the perfect directions and the lovely conversation.

A great getaway spot with the family that's located about 30 minutes from Las Vegas. Glamping with style and comes with all the amenities. First thing I love, you get your own private area and you can drive your car right up to your camp. It's very clean in there, fairly comfortable bed. Fan, heater and extra beddings are prepared for you. There is electricity and charging outlets. We even had cell service !! There's a small kitchen outside with a fridge, an outhouse and a shower area. The deck is a great touch to just chill and watch the stars. The host also prepared a bonfire starter kit for us. At night it was windy, so there was a lot of sound, but that's expected when camping outdoor.

My two adult kids and I needed to regroup as a family. For my grandsons six birthday we rented The Ravens Nest yurt. I booked one night but when he saw the pictures I changed it to two. He was SO excited, and Sandy and her husband didn't let us down once. We were checked on several times, it never felt intrusive. There was a little kitchen outside, with a sink, fridge, simple kitchen utensils, lights. Everything a camp needs. We also of course had a fire pit, and an outhouse. Lol The inside of the yurt, WOW! The bed, the lanterns, things to make sleep comfortable, but also a sage stick, a couple of books, extra blankets. The bed was SO comfy! And, are you ready for this? The mattress was HEATED! I'm going back when it's cold just for that. We didn't try the food but it smelled good. The animals were cute and friendly. Take time to pet the donkey. He's just now learning that people are friends. I wish I could convey the feeling. There wasn't a single argument, everyone chilled. You've got to try it. Try the Wagon, it looks awesome inside! Or the Hummingbird Tiny House.

Ok, I've been horseback riding all through Nevada over the years. Even Bonnie Springs at one time, I even worked there. But nothing, and I mean NOTHING holds a candle to Sandy Valley Ranch! The horse's are WELL taken care of. I mean, the OWNER of this place does NOT care about ONLY making money.... She obviously cares for her horses, all animals, stalls, grooming, feed, etc.. MORE than anything!!!! Most riding places treat their animals like crap! They over ride them and mistreat them. But NOT at Sandy's Valley Ranch, they CARE for their animals, TOTALLY! And it shows! And the (horse rides) are never nose to tail (trail rides) with a huge group of people... There is a big difference you know? We were allowed to gallop and run the horses with just a 2 person party which made a very huge horseback western riding experience. Another words, you really get to ride the horses! The horse stalls were extremely clean which was a plus in my book! This also helps with good tempered horses that are healthy! The food and hospitality was FANTASTIC! Our wrangler "Bones" was so dang sweet! A real trooper! He even found my expensive cowboy hat I had lost and returned it to me! Casper, hard working and a living doll! Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY there had hospitality skills! Even the waitresses! Hospitality is Soooo unheard of in Nevada nowadays! Seriously, we were treated with care and respect! I'm VERY IMPRESSED! I would even rate Sandy Valley Ranch as clean as Dollywood located out in Tennessee. Now that's a HUGE compliment! Well, I haven't stayed overnight in Sandy's Teepee's yet, however, they looked very clean and barrels of fun to stay the night in. That's next on my bucket list for sure! I even touted to my friends and family to go to Sandy's Valley Ranch... And they are going to, believe me! I'll be back again soon... And again, thank you BONES and to my new friend horse, "Luna." Such a sweet, well groomed, beautiful horse! The owner at Sandy's knows what she doing in this business, that's FOR SURE! GiDDy Up Ya'LL! I'M RATING THIS THE BEST DANG RANCH IN NEVADA EVER!!!! This Ranch is amazing! My friend and I stayed one night in the covered wagon and it was the cutest thing ever! The staff was so friendly and accommodating! There's so much to do here or do nothing at all and just relax. The food was delicious and very filling. We had the privilege of meeting and chatting with Marilyn, the owner of the ranch. She's a very lovely women. We'll definitely be visiting again.

A restful, rustic getaway. Very laid-back and slow, a great change of pace when coming from Vegas. Sometimes it was a little too laid-back, like the fact that the covered wagon we stayed in didn't have keys and we weren't able to lock our stuff inside. Not cool. Inside the wagon was a comfy bed and a bunch of kitschy glassware that was there for ambience (I guess) but really unnecessary. Instead of a pointless nightstand not by the bed and fragile glass lamp, how about a refrigerator? And more tabletop surface would be far more useful than the huge ceramic pitcher and bowl. Getting there is REALLY difficult, the GPS took us to a completely wrong place with the same address. This harrowing detour down a really bad dirt road could have been avoided if the host had communicated this better to us. FYI, it's in Sandy Valley CA, not Sandy Valley NV. Just a few miles apart makes a HUGE difference. Seeing the ranch animals is fun for a while. Wish they gave guests a chance to interact more with them. In the mess hall there's a comfortable screened seating area, dining hall, and restrooms with showers that sometimes have hot water. Friendly kitchen ladies made us a delicious meal. Be prepared, the meals are very pricy and off-site options are extremely limited. Horseback riding was loads of fun. Highly recommend doing it! Super peaceful at night, a lovely time to disconnect from the world, watch the sky, and enjoy a campfire.

We had a fantastic day at SVR. Ernesto took us on a relaxing trail ride. I got to ride Tank The Clydesdale!!! Isabella fixed a delicious evening supper after we freshened up. We slept overnight in the covered wagon. It was very quiet and restful. After a filling breakfast we were off on our way. This is a great getaway less than an hour from Vegas

this was such a fun one night getaway! We loved staying in the tipi, riding horses, seeing all of the many animals, and eating breakfast on the ranch! We went in summer and it was super hot so I recommend a different time of year! The tipi was booked through air bnb but the rest is through sandy valley! Being from SoCal it took our breath away to see all of the stars in the sky at night. Such a beautiful escape from all of the hustle!

Very remote (yet accessible from LAS) and incredible spot out in the desert. We stayed last year and loved it so much we came back this year. Last year we had Dana, who unfortunately is no longer a wrangler on the ranch. This year we had Bones who managed to be incredible as well even with the high bar Dana set. The horses are amazing, the trails are gorgeous and the grounds are a wonderful place to disconnect and recharge. Thank you Bones and SVR for this incredible place.

This review is for our overnight Airbnb stay. We stayed in the Tiny Home, and boy, did we have a big ol' amazing time! The ranch is awesome--super clean, peaceful, and easy to navigate. The directions to the Tiny Home were perfect. We arrived just before sundown, and OMG--the nighttime view was breathtaking! The sky was so clear, and the stars were absolutely beautiful. The owner was wonderful and left a binder filled with plenty of useful information about the surrounding area. We will 1000000% be returning on our next trip!" read more
I can't say enough about the memorable time we had!!! '45 Minutes and 100 Years from Las Vegas' is spot on!! Communicating with Sandy before our trip was seamless. She answered all my questions promptly. I was a tad apprehensive as I've stayed in a covered wagon...and vowed to never do it again...buuuuut the family thought it'd be a fun adventure...so here we are- and I'm soooooo glad I did it!!!! The reviews don't lie. It's a true getaway from the hustle of daily life. We stayed in the tiny house, my mom stayed in the aero stream, my brother and his family stayed in the covered wagon. We had THE BEST time. Drove right up to our sites no problem. Just follow the signs at the front. We came at night which made it a bit challenging-wouldn't recommend. All of the accommodations had heat and air conditioning- so we were all comfortable in the cold nights and warm days. Even the outhouse (which I was Leary about) has a full sized/regular toilet. We bought the 1 - 1/2 hour horseback ride and it was the highlight!!! All of the horses were gentle and super easy to navigate . My sister in law had never been on a horse and she had nooo problem . Frosty the guide is a GEM!!! Sooo sweet, fun and knowledgeable!! He truly made it a special ride. read more

Sandy Valley Ranch is famously "45 Minutes and 100 Years from Las Vegas." It is possible to visit the ranch for a day visit or stay overnight. The accommodations range from covered wagons to tipis to tiny houses. I popped in for a three-hour "Pony Express Ride." IT WAS FABULOUS. I'm an experienced rider and was looking for something a little more than just a walking trail ride, and the Pony Express Ride gave me all the trotting and galloping I could handle. It was a private ride, not nose-to-tail by any means. From the start, I knew I was in good hands. My wrangler Randy was friendly, professional, and competent - this man knows horses! We spent a bit of time in the arena warming up, which allowed me to get familiar with my horse, Sassy, and allowed Randy to assess my abilities. He gave me some tips to improve my riding experience, and then we were off! The views on the property were breathtaking. The horses handle marvelously. The owners obviously have a lot of love for the animals and they are well cared for. Barn area is tidy and has the nicest outhouse I've ever been in! The three-hour ride was everything I'd hoped it would be, and Randy took some fantastic pictures for me. He even gallantly rescued my phone when I dropped it - thanks again Randy! I wholeheartedly recommend Sandy Valley Ranch to riders of all ages and experience levels - and if you have had a bad experience on horseback, come here - they are going to take care of you. I hope to visit again in the future. There's plenty of acreage, so it's possible to take a new trail every time! read more
If your looking for something to do outside of Las Vegas for a day or even a over night trip Sandy Vally is around a hour outside of town a easy drive, feels peaceful out there. The ranch even has little tiny homes to rent. The horses are beautiful to watch. read more

The staff and guides were amazing. Well versed in all things horses, and the area you ride. They made me and my family feel welcome, and comfortable on the horses. We had not been riding in a few years and this was a great re-introduction into the sport. The horses we had: Black beauty / Sassy (who was) / Chocolate Chip "Chip" were great for our experience levels and took commands naturally. Though the horses want to go in line, you are encouraged to get them off and ride abreast when not galloping. This is a hidden gem and I highly recommend for solo / family and corporate events. read more

Excellent trail ride - guide was so kind and took the time to school everyone who needed help. Sandy Valley Ranch was outstanding. The desert is raw and beautiful with amazing sunsets and starry nights. At this working ranch we witnessed cattle being rounded up and the wranglers caring for all the rescue pigs, goats, chickens and a mule. At the heart of the ranch are the horses: each one has a unique story. i was with a wedding party so we rented the teepee, two Calistoga wagons and tiny houses: all were super charming. We gathered in the lovely ranch house and enjoyed two scrumptious diners: one was a seven course Mexican meal with the chef's secret mole recipe, and the second a delicious barbecue (along with vegetarian kebabs). we also loved the cowboy bar, campfire and cowboy games. The staff were so outstanding, helpful, with very interesting ranch stories when asked. I'd suggest calling ahead for directions and arriving by day. Google directions were confusing . read more

Great experience! If I ever find myself in the area again, we'll be back! We did the 2 hour trail ride and cattle penning. It was absolutely gorgeous and fun! Our guide, Randy, was an absolute delight. Full of stories and information. It was wonderful listening to him! We were also able to ride side by side, trot, and even canter! The scenery is beautiful. Felt really removed from the bustle of the city without being too far from it. Cattle penning was a hoot and a half! Facility was clean. Animals were cared for and all rescued and retrained! Horses were fresh for the ride. Definitely would suggest sandy Valley Ranch to anyone wanting a great horse experience. read more

We were seeking a non-traditional holiday this summer but most of my family wanted to go to Las Vegas but we compromised by a few days in Sin City and an evening trail ride at Sandy Valley Ranch. After two days of spending and losing money it wasn't tough to get my group away from the slot machines and they welcomed the short ride through the desert on the way to the ranch. We're from New York so it was awesome to see the Nevada desert up close. Our ride was fabulous and the wranglers treated us city slickers with respect and the ranch owner Marilyn (who is delightful!) even joined us on the ride. If you are looking for a different type of Vegas vacation then check out Sandy Valley Ranch. read more

I live in the area and the town has held the Christmas celebration at the ranch every year since as far back as I can remember. The staff is always friendly and cheerful. The owner was kind enough to allow me to film the ranch for a college film. So any students looking for an interesting place to film the ranch should be at the top choice. read more

I went to Sandy Valley Ranch this week to do a trail ride and lunch. The experience was everything I hoped for and more; great horse in beautiful groomed condition, saddled and ready to go when i got there, open trails through green mesquite. Gracie was my wrangler for the ride and she was great. Ended in the dinning hall with one of the best burgers I've ever had. It just doesn't get better than this if you want a ranch/ride experience. I'm already looking at the calendar for a return visit. Larry B. read more
All staff at the ranch were friendly and welcoming when we arrived. The good thing bout this place is they book out the whole day just for your party so no other tourists are there. Myself and my partner went here, myself being a good horse rider and my partner not so much. We were both shown how to steer the horses western style and both felt very comfortable whilst trekking once we had got the hang of the basics. The food they cooked us was delicious, my only one critiscm is that they forgot I was vegetarian and served me chicken even though I stated this in the email to them many times. We did not have time to do all of the activities which was a shame but we managed to squeeze in a couple of treks long with cattle herding, camp fire and gun shooting. At times I did feel that we were not taken seriously. My partner being a first time rider was a little nervous and the guys kept joking around saying they were going to start galloping which scared us as horses follow each other. Also because we visited the night before the 4th July, some of the staff headed out around 6 ish to celebrate so I felt we did not get the whole experience for the money. Saying that, it was a fun day out and a total change from the strip. The gun experience was fun and we received a free cap and tee shirt. read more

The staff at Sandy Valley Ranch goes above and beyond expectations, with their friendliness and their generous hospitality. The ranch is easy to find and the location was just perfect for a relaxing day away from the city. We enjoyed the country atmosphere and the quiet serenity of the desert. We will definitely go back soon for a trail ride and maybe even try our hand at "goat dressing", just for laughs. Thanks to the owners and staff for a great day! read more

I went riding here with my son last Sunday. I was looking for a place where I could experience a desert ride while on vacation in Las Vegas. I haven't been riding in years and it was my son's second time in a horse. We had a great time riding through the desert. I got to try trotting and galloping while my son decided to walk only. My son and I are from Seattle and we're not familiar with the terrain. Our guide Louis was very friendly and knowledgeable. He told us about the plants and animals in the area. We saw both jack rabbits and cotton tails. The ranch was clean and inviting and everyone (including the animals) were friendly. The ranch is about 45 minutes outside of Vegas and was a great day trip out of the city. I would definitely recommend visiting this ranch and will be back next time I'm in Vegas. read more

Went to see the ranch as this was the ideal place to have my sisters wedding. Was introduced with the wedding coordinator Leonora, As I also work in customer service I know how to treat a potential client. I have to say Leonora is far from a people person, she was very argumentative. During are visit she and her husband very bickering, which was very unprofessional. She badmouth over venues, as to deter us from going there. We discussed what we envisioned as far as the wedding day, we sat down and wrote out an estimate of how much the venue would be and what would be covered. She stated she was going to type it up as she just scribbled it all down on the back of a scrap piece of paper and have a contact back to us In a few days. We emailed her several times after that, and every time we did, the price changes and prior agreements were changed. She then decided not to deal with us anymore, and pawned us off to her husband. Who once again we discussed what we envisioned her wedding to be. It seems that if we did not agree with how they "Leonora and her husband" envisioned our wedding to be, the price would go up or they would not allow it any more. The belittled us by making comments in a non-traditional wedding was not the correct thing to do. Kept saying they were giving us a HUGE discount when they had the price in there website and stated it was an old price. IF ITS AN OLD PRICE TAKE IT OFF THE WEBSITE, THATS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT AND BAD BUSINESS. This made my sister so upset to the point she called off the wedding. Luckily she will NOT let anyone tell her what she can and can't do. And had now resumed her wedding plans and has booked her wedding with one there competitors in Las Vegas, which is where we live so it a lot more convenient. I WILL NOT GIVE YOU BY BUSINESS AND WILL LET EVERYONE I KNOW WHAT HORRIBLE SERVICE YOU GAVE US . if you decide to go please be aware of this couple, the ranch is beautiful. I hope no one else is treated they way we were. read more

I am very disappointed with the wedding coordinator and her husband at this venue. I began my wedding planning in April for a May 2017 wedding. I found this venue and just fell in love with it from the beginning as the feel for the wedding I was planning was completely nontraditional and was all set to go, but then the "ifs" and "buts" began. I feel was very patient and compromising with them but I started to feel as if I was being pushed to have a more traditional wedding which was not what I was going for. I felt if I ever disagreed with what their views or thinking was the price just kept going up, which i was willing to pay since I loved the venue so much, but I didn't want them to do the entire planning as they didn't understand what I wanted. They don't seem to understand that this was MY wedding and I wanted to follow traditional Mexican theme. I kept getting a delay with the contract and finally I just became fed up with them and decided to cancel the entire wedding. I am very disappointed as I was completely in love with the venue but the staff is very underwhelming. I hope the Boss Lady reads this as I attempted asking for her at one point and was informed that I could not speak to her as she does not tend to her clients. Very disappointed. read more

Sandy Valley Ranch is a true gem out west. Truly a wonderful place to visit. I cant stay away and try to get out there at least once a year which is not nearly enough. One of the funnest places I have ever been. It doesn't get much better than spending some good old quality time cowboying around at the ranch with good people and horses. The staff is welcoming and the facilities are wonderful. Thank you Sandy Valley Ranch for always showing me a good time!!! read more
