I was extremely unhappy after our last appointment and even though it's been a while, I'm still going to warn you. My dog has very long nails and at that point the time to trim them short is when he's under anesthesia because they bleed and I didn't want him in pain. I contacted the vet office and asked them about cleaning his teeth (requires anesthesia) and trimming his nails short. I was assured both of these could happen. 1) I asked the staff to call me back with an estimate for the anesthesia, nail trim and teeth cleaning. The staff failed to do this. 2) Later I get an email asking for a deposit for the procedure, I paid the deposit. 3) The day I took him in for the procedure, I reiterated to the vet staff out front that I wanted his nails trimmed short.. She assured me the vet would be notified, they could do this. Big mistake trusting that. 4) I come in later to pick him up, they hand me a bill for over $1200 and his nails had barely been touched. They even charged me for the nail trim which you couldn't even tell. I was pissed, I asked why they didn't do what I had asked while he was sleeping, the tech had the nerve to say "We didn't want to see him bleed". So $1200 later they failed to trim his nails down when it wouldn't have caused him as much or any pain because the tech didn't want to see blood.. Then I see on the discharge form they wrote that "He has always had long nails". I wouldn't trust them to do anything they say unless you pull the Vet out in the lobby and talk to her directly. Does the vet care about pets, yes she does. The problem is you don't get to talk to the vet, you have to deal with the techs and they will say anything to get you to shell out a lot of money. read more

Just left Sandy Paws with my fur baby, Koda for the first time and I am BEYOND pleased! Let me go down the list... 1. I called in this morning the young lady that answered the phone was very pleasant and able to fit my baby in the same day to see Dr. Sasha. 2. When we arrived Cain (who Koda loves) was already at the front door with a big smile to greet us (I could tell he was smiling even with a mask on). It was a very friendly welcome he gave us and our baby! 3. We were able to go back with our dog and talk with them personally about the issues going on with him. Cain was a great listener and gave Dr. Sasha all the information we gave him so she could know exactly what was going on when she came in. 4. Dr. Sasha! Wow! She was the sweetest vet I've experienced since having my baby. She was beyond attentive & calmed my nerves. She interacted with Koda and made all of us feel so welcomed! 5. Chris who helped with Koda's injection was also very friendly and kept a smile on his face the entire time. 6. You could tell Dr. Sasha's main concern and focus is the animal. Every vet I've been to is only about the money. You could tell this wasn't the case for her! I'm ONLY giving them 3 stars because of the front lady. But the communication of the doctors to the clients needs to change. I recently got my dog neutered there. For almost 700$.. mmmh. Ok. I will be asking about my "deposit" soon too. That's ok. I should of turned away when I couldn't even walk in the building with my dog. The doctors seems nice but don't really know what their doing, and definitely not from this country. Sorry but I believe I should be getting someone that speaks 100% English. She didn't even write anything down for me she expected me to remember it all. The 3rd day... my dog wasn't using the restroom and I got nervous... so they fit me in righty away. (Only good part) they took my dog for a few hours to "watch him". Then I pick him up. Oh I should remind you they didn't give me instructions for my meds... they just told me how many hours not how many days. On the bottle it said every 24 hours. Not HOW MANY DAYS. So I believe on day 6... we're in the ER because the medicine they gave my dog is TOXIC to animals. And guess what... my dog is 5lbs. Oh and they refused to see my dog... so I had to go somewhere else and pay more money. Please don't go and spend your money here. read more

If you were looking for an affordable place to take your for babies for annual check ups with a friendly staff, then this just might be the place for you! I'm somewhat of a frazzled person and I realized I only had one of my cat carriers at my house when it became time for their appointment. The staff was very understanding and didn't make me feel bad or judged for bringing one of my cats in a carrier and the other one jumping around in my car. They cycled them in and out with no problems. Even though it is still curbside Dr. Huston took the time to come out to the parking lot and speak with me and all the Vaccines and shots they planned on doing that day. She asked me about their daily routines, what their activity looks like, and their appetite's. You can tell that she has a real passion and love for all the animals that come in to her office. Her staff is just as friendly and accommodating. This is our 3rd time coming to this vet and I will definitely be bringing the boys back! Now time for naps and sunbathing! I'm not a "write a review" type of person, but it would be disrespectful to not mention my experience with Sandy Paws Veterinary Clinic and specifically Dr Sasha Huston. In the past few years, I have visited numerous veterinarian offices, same cookie cutter approach, same prescriptions, same inside the box discussions. This is in no way a slight of the services the veterinary community provides us. Like any of us, Doctors have their own personalities, approach, established procedures and most importantly thought process. My pet's quality of life out weighs' quantity of life if it's in a miserable situation, in my mind, so my search for a perfect clinic match continued, Luckily, I found myself at the door of Sandy Paws Veterinary Clinic a few months ago. Without a doubt it was the most refreshing, professional first visit I have experienced in a long time, her expertise, communications and just as important bonding with a new dog and its owner was phenomenal. I left with a new prescription I never heard of, as a first step, while she would do some internal research on my specific breed and contact colleagues to get their input as well "amazing" I had the feeling we had an attack plan, rather than same maintenance mode with the same expected poor results. Hope was in the air With all that I have shared, I can confidently say Zoe is in the best shape she has been in a long, long time. This Veterinarian clinic and Dr. Sasha saw me and my dog Fox as new patients, as I was coming there to see his final day in the sun. I have my own vet but, since they happened to be closed that day, I had to find a new vet to administer this procedure so he would have a very peaceful passing. I was very pleased with the facility and the staff as each and everyone there treated me like a first class customer despite of it being my first time there with no potential for any future visits. Each one of them showed genuine care for not just my well being, but also my geriatric dog that had long since lived out his years and was ready to cross to the other side since life was becoming too painful for him due to infection, fever, and other health issues due to the 18 years of quality life I tried my best to give him. After all that, they even paw printed a nice card for me to take home, and to my surprise, each one of the staff signed off and wrote me a short and sweet statement to help me cope with Fox's passing. I could not have asked for a better experience, and if my Fox was here to leave a review, he would give all his paws for an excellent rating of the service and compassion they showed to us. From myself and Fox, we thank you and were happy to have met each on of you at Sandy Paws. Even though, for now, I have no more need for veterinarian services, if there ever comes a new time in my life for another pet, Id be sure to visit Dr. Sasha and her crew. Dr. Sasha and her team were fantastic to work with, super accommodating and their services are fairly priced. I found myself suddenly fostering a litter of kittens last month (yay kitten season...) and Dr. Sasha saw me on very short notice, twice when issues popped up with the little babies. The kittens are all doing fantastic now and almost ready to go to their forever homes! read more

Dr. Sasha and her staff are nothing short of amazing! They took the time to care for our dog and help him feel relaxed as he was heading into surgery. Dr. Hudson made sure to explain all of my dogs results from his urine analysis as well as his blood work. When I came to pick him up, Jessica was in the room with him to keep him company and ease his post surgery anxiety. Dr. Sasha is a very attentive, experienced vet. She not only has the knowledge to take care of my dog but also has incredible bedside manner! She listens and really cares about her pets! I love that she sends emails to me with follow up of our visit. If I have any questions I can email or call the office and they are there to answer any questions I have. Top-notch company. We recently took our dog to Sandy Paws for the first time as we needed a vet close by. Yesterday, we requested to change a scheduled appointment and were told we didn't respect their time and to take our dog elsewhere. Very disappointing to be treated this way as new customer especially during COVID where last minute changes are required all the time. We do not appreciate how we and our dog were treated. read more
