Sandy News has been around so long there's a possibility it is mentioned in the Domesday book.
I jest of course, but it's longevity is testament to the fact that it's always been able to adapt to an ever-changing marketplace.
In the good old days, magazines and newspapers filled one entire wall of the shop, the rest taken up with a service counter behind which there was the then-ubiquitous array of cigarettes.

It's a business that has been passed down from father to son - or was it mother to son? I can't remember - and, as such, the staff are loyal and long-standing, often greeting customers by their name ... something which will always endear me to any retail outlet.
Sadly, this kind of shop is a slowly-dying breed - the growth of online information and news making people forget eschew the daily printed word - but I say support them whilst you can... there's always room for a resurgence! read more
