I've just seen yet ANOTHER student who went to LCA talking about their experience (not going to name them to prevent them from being harassed like I was over my original review.) They too were subjected to horrible bullying from not only other students but also from STAFF. People meant to teach them, guide them, people they should be able to trust. This place is nothing but full of hypocrisy and hate. If you aren't well known and liked by the staff or related to staff in some way? They will make it a point to make your life miserable. They claim a 0 tolerance for bullying policy but the people who are bullied get punished while the bully is given nothing but a slap on the wrist. I attended LCA myself from ages 3-18. I was bullied relentlessly. My classmates would call me illegal (I have Latina roots. My mom was born in Belize but is a US citizen), retarded, and they would constantly take and go through my things to try and get me in trouble. They'd cyberbully me behind fake accounts and lie to my face about it, add me to random group chats or FaceTime calls to talk badly of me, start rumors about me and my sister. I do not care what they thought of me or said about me. My issue was them talking about my younger sister who did NOTHING to deserve that. Even a few of the staff would bully me. These teachers would constantly gang up on me with my classmates and never stopped the other students when they were harassing me and bullying me. I would constantly call my mom crying and say I was sick, just hoping she'd pick me up because I dreaded their class. The teachers had no regard for me and my mental health at all. Here are a few incidents I recall: My class was taking a test and another student had his phone out playing music. It was distracting me but the teacher didn't do anything about it so I asked to use the restroom, but in reality informed the principal that there was a student playing music on his phone in a test. However I was the one punished for lying about going to the restroom. When the teacher was confronted, they said they allowed the student to have his phone to print something. Why would a teacher let a student print something during a TEST? The school sided with and believed the teacher. A teacher became angry at me and accused me of lying about my grandmother being sick and passing in September 2020 when I fell asleep in her class after a late night. In middle school I was late to class one day and walked in to find my desk upside down. The teacher had another student help me set it rightside up, then allowed me to go get my books. I walked back in with my books to find my desk upside down again. After another student helped me set it rightside up AGAIN, I asked to use the restroom and snuck my phone out of my locker. I called my mom crying in the bathroom because I couldn't understand why they were doing this. Because I was late? The tardiness wasn't even my fault most of the time, it was due to my sister not being ready and my parents not wanting to waste gas on making two trips. My mother contacted the school to see if anything would be done about the bullying, only for me to be punished and have my phone confiscated for using it in school hours meanwhile the student who was flipping my desk over only got one demerit. I even brought the bullying, the teachers' disrespect to me and disregard about the bullying, all of it to the administrators but they did nothing. If anything was done, it was only a slap on the wrist. They also, until recently it seems, did not have ANY required classes whatsoever that prepared students for life in the real world on their own. The only classes that were required and taught us how to function in the world in any way, a group of students would steal the answer keys and cheat while the teacher just sat there and the rest of us were left to fail the class. If I have children, I would much rather send them to a public school or homeschool than send them to a place like this and subject them to what I and many other former students of this school were put through. Please, if you value your child and their mental health, do NOT send them to this toxic place.

The directors are very patient with us and very flexible with our schedules. Many teachers use working at HLC as a second job that is not overwhelming on top of an already full load. From the parents down to the employees, they are not a professional establishment. The new director, Miss Elizabeth, is trying to push people out the door she doesn't like. Mr. Parnell, the owner of the daycare, seems to let her do and run the place how she wants. From price changes, to putting employees in rooms with kids who don't even want or know how to work with that specific age group. She's hiring people who don't even want to change diapers, DIAPERS. She's got people and parents signing papers saying "if there's an issue with them that you have to come to them first about it before calling state and if not then your child will be terminated." She puts her wants and needs before every child, parent, and employee. She wants parents whose kids are out there through daycare vouchers from DSS. Can someone please tell me how that's fair when other parents are paying out of pocket and also need somewhere for their kids to go? Not to mention how PETTY she is.
