1 Star - Extremely Frustrating Customer Service…read more I am extremely disappointed with the Honolulu Board of Water Supply's customer service and lack of communication. Their automated telephone system does not work properly. When you try to request a callback, the system instructs you to press 1 and enter your 10-digit telephone number. After entering the number, it asks you to do the same thing again and again, creating an endless loop. There is no confirmation that your callback request has been accepted, making the entire process frustrating, time-consuming, and completely unproductive. Since I was unable to get anywhere by telephone, I decided to contact the Board of Water Supply by email. I have sent several emails and have yet to receive a response. What exactly are customers supposed to do when the telephone system doesn't function properly and emails go unanswered? The Board of Water Supply provides an essential public service, and customers deserve a reliable way to communicate with the organization. We should not have to waste our time navigating a malfunctioning telephone system or repeatedly sending emails that receive no acknowledgment. At this point, it feels as though everyone is out to lunch and nobody is taking responsibility for responding to customers. My next step will be to write directly to Ernest Y. W. Lau, P.E., Manager and Chief Engineer of the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, to bring these ongoing customer service problems to his attention. I believe senior leadership should be aware when customers cannot get through by telephone, cannot successfully request a callback, and receive no replies to repeated emails. I hope Mr. Lau will take these concerns seriously and investigate why the telephone callback system is malfunctioning and why customer emails are going unanswered. The Board of Water Supply needs to seriously evaluate its customer service operations, fix its callback system, and make sure emails are answered in a timely manner. Customers deserve better communication, accountability, and service from an organization responsible for providing such an essential public utility. One star for a frustrating and disappointing customer service experience.
