I only got three hours of sleep and had to get back on the road to drive a long way back home tired and upset. I would not recommend going there because customer service even worse.

If you are heading…read morewest along I-10 to this hotel, it won't be that long after crossing time zones from Eastern to Central. My stay here was on the night of August 24, 2022. Getting to this hotel from I-10 was pretty easy and was easy to find as well. There was ample parking available when we got here, but if the hotel was busier, I think parking may be limited. After getting parked, I went inside to get checked in and get keys for the room and check out the room. The room is your standard room with two queen beds. We headed out to get some dinner before coming back. After getting back from eating, it was time to check out what the hotel had to offer. I started with the lobby area and main entrance. One thing of note was that as soon as you come into the lobby, they did have some type of scent in that area. I don't know if it was to mask something else, but it definitely set off my allergies and gave a low-grade headache, so I tried to limit time in this area. This lobby area has lots of seating there, along with the breakfast area. There is also an area for laundry. Before going outside, there is an exercise room available with various options. Then I made my way outside to check out the pool area. The pool is a nice size and looked good. Although most of the public use areas such as the exercise room, laundry, etc. would require the key card to gain access, this was not the case here on this visit. After checking out the grounds, it was time to get back to the room and start to settle in for the night. One thing that I did notice in the room that certain areas definitely show the age of the hotel, especially in the shower/tub area of the room (room 204). Also, I noticed in the rooms there were very few outlets and USB connections as well. That also lends to the age of the hotel. Another thing of note is that there was only a trash basket in the room. There was no separate recycling available. Now, for the sleeping and such. The beds were very comfortable. I had a really good night's sleep that night, as confirmed by my Fitbit as well. This is definitely an important aspect of a hotel, so this was really good. I was well rested the following morning. I went downstairs a little after 6 am when breakfast was available. Everything was already set up in there. Looking at the options though, on this experience, nothing really appealed to me. Everything was pretty much pre-packaged items. One was ham and the other was sausage, of which neither I am a fan of. I did end up getting some orange juice though and had something else later that morning when we were back on the road. Overall, the hotel covers the bases anyone would look for. The beds were good and there were several things available to do on the property. I was just still not a fan of the lobby area due to that scent they had going that set off allergies and a headache. When it comes to pricing, I know prices for everything have been going up, but I definitely felt that I paid for a suite, even though I only did a regular room with two beds. With limited options in the area, I will still consider coming here again if my travels warrant it.

The beds were the hardest I've ever slept on. I've had ground covered by gravel feel more comfortable. My wife woke up at 5:30 in the morning and chose to setup in a chair than try and stay in the bed. The bed was a King size bed. The three pillows on the bed seem to be smaller than a standard pillow and if they were 1" think I would be surprised. I folded mine in half and it felt like I still didn't have a pillow. We didn't try the TV in the room nor did we see if the small refrigerator in the room was working. We just needed to sleep. My wife will tell you that the towels and wash cloths were great.

However, it was frustrating at check in they wouldn't upgrade me or change my room despite a nearly completely empty hotel (you know it is because the parking lot is empty and the curtains are all pulled back in the rooms so you see all the empty rooms). Then, get into my recently remodeled room (well done!) and there is hair in my sink and on some of my towels. The "queen size" bed is laughably small. Is it up and coming? Yes. Is it worthy of anything more than 2 stars? Not yet.

We went to the Chipola Quick Care Clinic, in Marianna, just up the road a few miles. They were great, fixed her up with bandage and shot. However, the Econo Lodge clerk was very apathetic about the bloody mess in the room's bathroom, and when we had returned from the Clinic, the room had been cleaned. We told the Cleark about the fall and injury, but he didn't seem to care. (no injury report made by hotel) There are plenty of other cheap and nice hotels nearby, I would suggest another. This had the best price by a few dollars and the website looked good, what a mistake. Had we not been so tired and already paid we would have and should have left and gone to another hotel. The lobby was impressive and clean. We paid the overly high price of $110 w the taxes and got to the room. It was musty and the floors were sticky. We turned on the light only to find the room old and dirty. There are stains on the chair. The bathroom was worn and dirty and just plain nasty like it hadn't been cleaned. The was a steady drip in the tub, they must be spending a fortune on the water bill. The drip was a stream of water in the tub. I put a towel in the tub to soften the sound of the water. Everything had a worn, or rusted or old stain and dirty look to it. The bed smelled of chemicals. The pillows were paper thin. We should have left but we were exhausted. We didn't want to touch anything as it seemed disgusting. We went to bed so we could sleep and hurry to get out and leave. Never again will I accept a room like this!! The fact that I paid $110 makes me sick to think of it. Do yourself a favor and never stop here at this Econo Lodge. I would have been just as upset if I had paid $30 for the room, I paid $110.
