We definitely appreciated a number of the other artists on display, and the space itself was just gorgeous but approachable. The wide variety of art for sale, mainly local but some national artists on display. A lot of high school musicians, poets and performers and occasional touring bands play here early evenings. Check their schedule on Facebook or Instagram. Some music and other events feature a catered bar. A much needed space in the cultural scene of Billings Montana.

First, don't be fooled by its small size (looking from the outside). Besides the first floor and the patio exhibits, there's a basement level full of displays. In fact, it's one of the best displays of Native American artifacts I've seen in a long time. I'm not sure if they have a parking lot or not. If not, you can always park in the terminal parking lot. So we decided to check it out. They had a good selection of beers and allowed us to taste a few to get what we wanted. The beer was good and cold and the beer tenders were friendly and helpful. There is no table service, you go up and get your own. No problem if that's the gig. The music was awesome as many musicians dropped in to jam together in an cooperative fashion. We only had one beer as I was driving so we stayed for just one set before returning to the hotel several miles away. If we had been staying closer like walking distance i definitely would have stayed for more.

We were fortunate to get parking right up front although I'm sure it gets really tricky considering its down town. I appreciate the architecture, the building itself is really beautiful. There are 2 floors, the main floor has a couple of side rooms, and downstairs there was an area where little ones could color and try out a pair of maracas (these went along with the Hispanic heritage theme). There are stairs as well as an elevator so it is ADA accessible. I believe the cost was 5 dollars per adult, 3 for students and kids. Totally worth it, I'd recommend anyone to pay this museum a visit!

We thought we'd see and learn quite a bit about western heritage and culture. And there was a bit of that here but not much. There was a large art installation and info on the life of Ben Steele, a former Japanese POW, turned artist and art instructor. We did enjoy learning about Mr Steele and his life. There was some information about Yellowstone National park but related mostly about bears. There was some information about Native American Indians. We paid $5 for one adult and $3 for one senior. We felt the price was about right and while we enjoyed learning about Mr Steele, we were left a bit puzzled about this Western Heritage Center.

Thank you Book Cellar…read more Kudos to you for having a used bookstore - to get lost in - that smells like a bookstore, but not overpoweringly so - providing a venue to indulge a guilty pleasure - with books in every genre by many authors - that doesn't have a dozen copies of any one book - with books categorized generally even if in fiction it seems to have the same authors in two different spots - with half-price books - that has a great sci-fi section (yay) - showing large numbers to identify a section on the floor and signs at eye level and overhead - that doesn't have employees that hover - that overwhelms, in a good way, And, last but not least: - to require adding more visits to my calendar agenda.
