I am a parent who has always tried to support my child's school, but after a deeply troubling and…read moremishandled situation, I feel compelled to speak out. My daughter came home with visible bruising, and as a concerned parent, I reached out immediately -- emailing the principal and administration and messaging the teacher, since it was discovered on a Friday and the school was closed over the weekend. I received no response. First thing Monday morning, I went to the school in person. Principal Barbara Leon was unavailable to speak with me. I met with Ms. Michelle, who listened and said she would try to gather information. She later called me back with very few answers and oddly asked that I not speak with any other parents about the incident. We then followed up in writing with Principal Leon, as well as administrators Julia Pease and Holly Oliver, requesting records and any available footage from the day of the incident. Again, we received no response. Instead of answers, we were met with a DCF report filed against our family -- and a visit from both police and a DCF officer. We were never contacted directly by the school with any findings or follow-up about what actually happened to our daughter. Adding to our frustration, Principal Barbara Leon sent a message to other parents stating the incident had been handled -- despite never once addressing or confronting us, the actual parents of the child involved. She took time to reassure others, but gave us no communication, no transparency, and no accountability. Aside from completely neglecting the incident, the way this was handled shows a serious failure in leadership and concern for student well-being. We are left with growing concerns about what the school may be trying to hide. As parents, we deserve the truth -- and above all, our children deserve to be safe.

The staff is great but we should have known on the very first day (when the other parents and the…read moreteacher barely acknowledged us) that this was not the right school for our daughter. She was treated very badly by the girls in her class, they were very mean and excluded her without even trying to get to know her. To the staffs credit, they did make an attempt to get the girls to interact & be more inclusive but you can't turn mean kids into nice ones. I ended up pulling her out. Horrible experience here. The students are rude and clicky. The two stars is for the staff and their efforts to make it right.

It is a truly special place that will always have a piece of my heart. Every time I walk through campus, everyone knows you, your kids name, their siblings, etc. and you just feel like a part of a family. Zale is a despicable place due to Stacey Rosenberg, Dodi Pejovic and others. How can Jewish people…read moretreat Jewish like that? Stacey Rosenberg is extremely incompetent, dishonest and hostile. She adds no value to the pre k and should not be around mothers and children. People like that should not work in childcare. She is a troubled individual. We had an issue with a teacher and Stacey failed to resolve any of it. From the beginning, my child was met with hostility and exclusion, particularly from their so called teacher Dodi Pejovic. Her demeanor could be described as passive-aggressive, and my child was made to feel anxious and uncomfortable. Rather than being a nurturing environment, it quickly became a source of fear for my child. Even I felt uncomfortable coming to that place for pick up or drop off. Stacey encouraged the teacher and handled things so poorly I have never seen anybody so underqualified and unprofessional. Shame on her. When I asked to come in and be in the classroom to see my daughter it was rejected although it is not what their policy says. In general, they lie a lot. They have NO VALUES or manners. The most dishonest and despicable people I have ever seen. Ms. Rosenberg says awful things on the phone and then acts like she never said anything. The way she treated and harassed our family on the phone and in person is despicable. Zale JCC is an embarrassment to the Jewish community. With everything going on in the world these days they should be trying to bring Jews together. This JCC should be shut down. They'll never get a donation from us, ever.

We actually started at a different preschool in 2016 with our oldest child, and had a very difficult experience there. Finding this school afterward was honestly the best thing that could have happened to our family. Our oldest child finished here, our middle child then started here (while still in diapers in the youngest class), and now our daughter has done the same and is graduating VPK, having learned and grown so much this year! The academic curriculum is outstanding, and the teachers and staff genuinely pour their hearts into everything they do. Beyond academics, what truly makes this school so special is the loving, nurturing, and familial environment they create for the children each day. The students also learn life skills, language skills, and even gardening, and extracurricular activities such as karate, dance, and soccer are offered as well. This school has been such a meaningful part of our children's early years, and we are truly sad to say goodbye. We are beyond grateful for the love, care, and dedication shown to our family over the years.

My girlfriend had a dreadful employment experience with Saint Andrews School. She was recruited out…read moreof Charlotte where they moved her down and had her start employment. After starting her onboarding and getting her keys, id, computer, etc., they fired her 10 days later telling her that she flunked her drug test with a THC content of 15 ng/ml, less than the minimum federal standard of 50 ng/ml. The funny thing is the lab had called her a week before she started working and the lab said they would send the results to the school that day. She called the school the following day and they said everything was okay. The weird thing is she attended a diversity training seminar the day before she was fired and stated her modestly liberal opinion. When HR called her the next day, they said it was the failed drug test that got her fired. Why did they hold on to the drug test so long, and why did they onboard her? They told her to reapply and she would be given a chance to take a drug test, but that was a lie, and they have hired someone else. Talking to attornies now as I am left holding the bad on her expenses.

As a grandparent, nothing means more to me than knowing my granddaughter is in a place where she is safe, loved, and excited to go every day. The director, Monika Zaidan, and Roxanie Rodriguez are absolutely phenomenal at what they do. They truly go above and beyond and seem to have everything running seamlessly and beautifully. Their dedication and attention to every detail is remarkable and so deeply appreciated. My granddaughter's teachers, Ms. Rana and Miss Liz, are simply extraordinary. I have never seen such incredible patience, kindness, and loving guidance with children. They have a special gift for making every child feel valued, comfortable, and excited to learn. My granddaughter has been attending for almost two years, and it has been such a joy to watch her grow, learn, and build sweet friendships there. She is a child who really thrives on structure and staying busy, and this school gives her exactly that in the most positive and engaging way. They somehow make learning feel like fun, which is such a gift at this age. Seeing her come home happy, confident, and full of stories about her day means everything to our family. I'm so grateful she has had the opportunity to be part of such a special place.
