My family and I lived at this apartment complex during a transitional phase in our life. The only furnished apartment that they had available was a 2 BD above the leasing office, which I thought would be a nice, safe, quiet apartment. When we moved into the apartment, it reeked of curry. They assured us that they would be able to get the smell out.
Flash forward 3 weeks, and everything in my apartment reeked of this smell. It was so bad that I had to have everything dry cleaned, and had to have our truck detailed just to get the smell out. They did two 'odor treatments' and then acted like we were being unreasonable when we continued to complain of odor issues. This is not to mention that you could not even step outside of your door without having cigarette smoke blown in your face. That would be bearable if it were other tenants, but I am talking about grounds staff at Sandpiper standing inside of the breezeway of the door smoking while we were walking past them with our young children. Unprofessional.
Finally, after 3 weeks the smell was unbearable so we relocated to a 1 BD on the other side of this complex. This apartment was so filthy when we moved into it. I spent 3 hours cleaning this apartment, and when I moved the couch, the worst thing that you could imagine finding under there (used condom----disgusting).
When I called the front office about it, they said that they had the apartment cleaned, but that their cleaning company did not 'move couches' to clean. Yet, when I moved out a few months later, I was asked to have the carpets professionally steam cleaned. They charged me $230+ bill upon move out for cleaning services, and this was after I had paid someone to go in and clean it. These people are unprofessional, unreasonable, and the only way that I could ever recommend this apartment complex to someone is if I was trying to torture them.
The cute little movie theater (don't think you can use it whenever, because they act like you are inconveniencing them), the lake (would have been cute if anyone bothered to pick up the hundreds of duck poop droppings that cover the walkway surrounding the lake). This place looks appealing, but unless you have an ability to really lower your standards, I would skip it. read more
