Close to parks and running trails along the Yarra River plus shops and restaurants galore just outside the door. Studio room is small. Two bed suite is enormous! Street side (chapel St) has noise. Other side is much quieter although not a pretty view (construction cranes). The staff can pretty much get what you need and are really pleasant to very warm and friendly. No such thing as attitude. Art is a nice theme. It's sophisticated and yet whimsical. Small things here and there (not worth mentioning) keep this from being a 5 star.

Stay in a Art Series Hotel. Check. Now to collect them all. Like Pokemon. Okay, maybe not Pokemon…read morethat would be child-like, but my first experience at an Art Series hotel was so pleasant and without fuss [insert many more adjectives here that sing this hotel's praises] that I'll be sure to complete the set with stays at the Cullen and Blackman post haste. From the ever helpful concierge to the ghost chairs in the room and more, there was not one thing I could fault about my stay here. Even being in a conference on their 9th floor felt more like a holiday (with wrap around city views) than a 'work-thing'. Best of all some of Melbourne's best eats and drinks are mere stone's throw from you. *cough* Two Birds, One Stone *cough*.

We stayed here during our tour in Melbourne and found this hotel very comfortable and convenient…read more The hotel was a pleasant 15-20 minute walk to the CBD. If you are looking for something interesting to eat it is a ten minute walk to Collingwood where you'll find original and tasty places to eat. There was a double bed, two single beds, and a sofa bed. Plenty of room to move around. It was all clean, no bad smells or weird stains. It was hard to be quite during the night due to a squeaky bedroom door, so bring oil just in case. The staff was very friendly and unbelievably helpful. Hazel in reception was only too happy to tell you the best places to eat in and around the area, and as it was the Easter long weekend, even offered to call the restaurants to check that it was open. It kind of sucked that the wifi had to be paid for.

I've stayed here about 4 or 5 times now and have enjoyed my stay each time. The trick is knowing…read morethat it'll be noisy, the living room will be the only room with the airconditioning and there aren't any modern bells and whistles - it's just straight forward, no frills like free wifi. Other than that, it's incredibly convenient, most rooms I think has a kitchenette, staff are friendly and prices competitive. O, and they offer FREE parking while every other bastard charges at least $15 over night. It's close to the tram lines and the great shopping in Smith Street. You can't go wrong. For the down sides, just work around the noise by taking some ear plugs with you and don't even bother trying to sleep in past 8.30am. As for the A/C, just open the rooms up so the main bedroom will also get some of the A/C or perhaps see reception and ask for a fan. No bells and whistles? just ensure you supply it yourself! like wifi broadband etc.

We were about a block away from the tram, two blocks away from the bridge and the river, and everyone around us is just a convenience with 7-11s and cafes everywhere just in case you need something else. Just a short walk to Burke St Mall, Melbourne's famous lane ways, Federation Square and those places people go to watch sports. Me recommendation is to pull up Yelp and scan for good places to eat. We found several tucked away near by including Movida for tapas and sangria, and Hardware Societe for breakfast.

Walking distance from Punt Road and Chapel Street and a nice 1.5km walk to the MCG on a fine day. It is surrounded by awesome food choices many with take away options. There are two IGA's within close proximity one 24hr and one open until 11.00pm. The apartments are fresh clean and airy - the one I stayed in had a great view of Toorak Road. The beds were super comfortable and there were good heating options.A small kitchen is included and you could easily make a meal given the stove tops. There was also a washing machine and dryer in the apartment which was super useful. Staff were very obliging and friendly at all times of the day and reception is open until 10.00pm which is handy. There is also a room service option available. Units were serviced everyday and I didn't have a complaint at all with the accommodation. Look out for the room specials I paid $99.00 a night which was amazing value given the quality of the accommodation. Will definitely stay here again on my return to Melbourne.

Every time I drove through Werribee, I would gaze out the window and think "One day, Jackie... One day you'll stay at the Mansion." Finally my time came. The Mansion itself is not really a hotel, but a destination - the grounds surrounding are similar to that of the Botanical Gardens in Melbourne - perfectly manicured greens, flowers and even a greenhouse. It's the perfect place to take you mum or grandma on a Sunday afternoon. Being a guest at the hotel is just as magical. While it does come off a bit like the hotel in The Shining (you know, really creepy in that old, antique-y way) it is honestly breathtaking. We stayed in a basic room, which while small was still stunning and included a gigantic shower and king size bed. The buffet breakfast the next day was A-OK but the bar was the real standout. It is open until 1am and the bartenders are well-skilled to whip you up whatever your heart desires. A highly recommended hotel when you're after a quick yet very fancy getaway from the hustle and bustle of the CBD.

We had organised late check in and they were pleasant and kind to deal with when I wS organising that over the phone. They also rang when we landed to check when we would be arriving. The place is so close to Melbourne which is a huge bonus for the price. There was a car park out the back so no street parking. The night manager was kind and helpful. When we got to our room we were impressed. The bathroom was large and lovely - free tea and coffee as usual, nice tv and comfy bed - what more can you ask for? The one complaint I can see people making but didn't bother us is the walls are quite thin so you can hear people around you. (At one point the bathroom coughed haha)

Yeah, it's an old man's pub, so you probably know what to expect here. Honestely, it really didn't have as much of a charm as some pubs have, so now that I've been here I can basically move on to some place else.
