The vibes are really fun in here - dark and moody with tons of comfy seating, mostly leather chairs and cozy sofas that make posting up for games fun. The crowd here was a BLAST - folks wearing all kinds of American football jerseys and going wild at each touchdown. Drink prices were reasonable and I loved that they carried the boozy lemonade we found elsewhere and enjoyed. Maybe it was just the Super Bowl energy, but we really liked the ambiance for sports games here!

If you looking for a trendy bar with tall Russian hot chicks (which incidentally I love ). This is…read morenot the bar for you. If you want a good traditional pub like pubs used to be. Where you can come in on your own and have many friends (most of them tipsy) when you leave then go no further. Basic style but a heart of a Dragon. In winter you have a nice fire to keep you warm. Dart board to play with random strangers and pool table out back. There is a bet garden aka smoking area as well The food is good old fashioned pub food. The reason why I keep coming back. When you go in, there's usually someone you recognize from the day or week before and the conversation picks up right where it left off. It's like all the really nice people in Wellington decided to hang out at this place, although, this is a really friendly city to begin with. The last time we were in town, the wife and I renewed our vows here, after about 40 years I guess it was time. Mike and Joanne were so sweet. They cleared out the back room, moved the pool table and filled the room with flowers and wedding decorations. It was beautiful. We still have one of the heart shaped doilies glued to our refrigerator at home. The food was great and there were tons of snacks. There was about 25 of us back there partying all night but Ross kept those drinks coming like an assembly line. That same night, Prince Harry was in town watching a rugby match at the Cake Tin. We were hoping he'd stop in after the match but no such luck. We thought we saw him a couple of times but it was just Mike with that silly Prince Harry mask, LOL, Hilarious. Mike's a funny guy and knows how to keep the party going. One day we were sitting and talking for a while when one of the customers, after hearing our accent, got up, walked over to the piano and played the Star Spangled Banner ( U.S. National Anthem ). Everyone in the bar stood up while we sang. How cool is that? This is a great place to sit and watch a game and make friends. It does help if you know the rules of rugby and cricket but if you don't, there'll be someone there that will gladly explain them. I love the entertainment they have. Usually local talent on the piano or guitar. The Quiz Nights are a blast too. This place would do great in Long Beach. Check out the pictures on their website and you'll get a good idea of the vibe. Have fun.

Indeed I ended up having a drink and leaving. Waiter gave me menu and then disappeared. Decided that if they are not interested in hiring good staff I am not interested in spending my $$. So can't comment on food but for an Irish pub leaves a lot to be desires. Music made me give it 2 stars. I was going with 1.

My partner and I ended up buying a bunch of items off the snack menu including the nachos, buffalo chicken wings, aranchi, and pork sliders. Unfortunately my friends order for mains got lost and we had to chase it up but the staff were so good about it and even gave them a free drink each whilst they waiting for it to cook. Great customer service.

Many tables were sat and had ordered after us but got their food before us - same dishes that we ordered. Some of those tables even finished their meals before ours arrived. The steak we order was tough and so was the lamb. Lastly, the floor of my seat was littered with food. They just sat us at a dirty table. I recommend the Indian restaurant down the street instead.

I expected a more relaxed and quiet vibe, but it was fine for a group to meet. The menu is quite vast with options for all tastes. The Ribs are very popular. I had the fish of the day which was nice. Recently I've seen them book in a few lounge acts, and it's quite nice hearing someone crooning away while you're dining out. I've turned up when they've been packed and it's never been an issue (although maybe book in advance if you really want a table), as they're always keen to give you a good night out. The food is good quality as far as pub food goes. They have menu that changes up every few months, while their staples like the Brod Burger will always be there waiting for you. My biggest problem is trying to narrow down exactly what I want to eat, as there are always too many good options! Their drinks selection is quite decent for a local bar. They do well priced Monteith's jugs, a range of bottled beer, and also Chomp on tap for those of you more discerning types. They have a cider on tap too, and the house wine is... about as good as you'd expect a house wine in a local pub. Pro tip: check out their website and see what deals they have on each night. They do weekly quizzes and screen most rugby games (TVs around the place and a projector in the main area) - this is great if you're after a night of entertainment, but maybe pick a different night if you just want a nice meal with friends. Assuming the sport nuts and those out for a casual pint have stopped reading here, here are my tips for a good meal there: - Grab a couple starters, they're all good. I particularly like the prawn twizzlers and the breads - Get the fish - the catch of the day is always good, and they always used to do a good salmon dish too - Don't feel like fish? The burgers are all good. Everything else is good too by the way - Save room for dessert, these are pretty tasty too - Don't forget their cocktail menu. This isn't a cocktail bar, but they do whip up a nice Moscow Mule Hope this all helps, and leave your own review so i can see what you thought of the place!
