Heading back from Humacao with supplies and I hear a tapping coming from the rear of the car...
I slow down to 70mph, the tapping diminishes...
At 60 it disappears...
Back up to 80 and it starts again, this time louder and with confidence...
I pull over and inspect.
Nothing to be found...
Back up to 80 and I hear a rhythm section back there...
Then...
BOOM!
The real right tire explodes...
Tread flies everywhere...
It ripped the bumper cover right off the fender.
Spare tire is new thank goodness.
Unfortunately it was under a full load of supplies which I had to redistribute onto the side of the highway.
Cases of beer, sacks of tomatoes, liquor...
The passerby were elated at the sight.
Horns honking, requests for beer...
Lots of cat calls...
Make a longer story short.
My peeps at Sanchez Tire slapped a new tire on, re-rigged the bumper cover and sent me off to battle in a matter of minutes... read more
