The work was, to quote head contractor Michael Brown, "unacceptable." There are spots of plaster on…read moreour brand new stairs that will require sanding and a refinish to remove. The trim around the doors was reinstalled about 1 cm off from where it used to be, and at a noticeable angle. A piece of drywall that was replaced now scrapes the top of a door every time it's opened or closed. Someone started sanding plaster just feet away from the kitchen without warning or putting up a single plastic sheet. It took days to clean every surface. Was the work done? Technically, yes, but only after weeks of reminders to get the last couple of items finished, endless back and forth with Mike and various subcontractors, and with plenty of issues. Sharp corner beads with not enough plaster on them, misaligned trim and baseboard, half-sanded plaster (the rest is "included with painting"). And of course the trash left behind - masks, soda cups, cigarette butts in the yard, plaster dust everywhere, plaster water with chunks dumped in the garden beds. Despite multiple complaints, we had to clean all of this up ourselves.

They introduced themselves and then they got to work. Dawson, Brandon and Travis were knowledgeable about the 'how' these windows work. I say this because the place I live the windows are 20 years old. My front door in particular has the storms on them that slide up and down. Dawson and Travis worked together tediously getting the storms in and out. They have done these types of storms before, but these being an older style they have not had experience with. The important trait here is they didn't give up. . My sills were extremely dirty. In some areas the pollen and dirt were caked on. They were very particular in making sure they cleaned it all out. My screens were taken off and hosed down. They were finished all windows and doors in less than 3 hours. I paid them and they each shook my hand saying it was a pleasure to meet me. Being older it is so nice to have individuals work in my home who are genuinely enthusiastic about their job and very polite. Loved that they showed up with masks and they even took their shoes off just like asked. They did paint almost my whole interior. Very very professional workers, fast and efficient. I never expected them to be done so fast they were done 1 day earlier than expected which was great. Their work is very clean. They come do their job and clean up everything. They even helped us with carrying out large mirrors. The floors and furniture they covered very well so there was no splatter on floor or the furniture. They went over with me aboand asked me questions along the way while they were painting. The price for the job was also excellent. Beat other painters in the area. When the guy came he essentially told me he'd charge me triple for the vanity if I didn't do my kitchen at the same time because he'd have to come out for a small job. A couple weeks later and I never got any quote even after emailing to follow up. I also don't like that they use a third party answering service so if there was an issue there's a hard barrier between you and the company.

As painting specialists, they understood that preparation is 90 percent of the job. Preparation was the main task with a deck as old and tired as ours. First, they power-washed the entire deck, including the 6'x6' support posts (9ft high) and sub-structure, removing mildew, mold, and caked-on dirt. The deck platform, rim joists, ledger board, and decking were scraped, sanded, and patched with filler. The railing posts, railings, balusters, stair risers, and treads were prepped thoroughly, including the cap rail, which was particularly weathered.
