Good in Theory Only. Watch Out Everyone!!!! Sent copies of Medical insurances, her stay should have been covered %100 percent. Now, after a year and a half after she has passed they have the stones to send me a $5,304.00 bill. When my mother stayed at this facility I, went out of my way to provided what she needed. And visited her daily. As when they did provide "pullups" adult diapers, when I checked they had insects in them. I notified the head office lady and she had the audacity to argue with me (about there being bugs in the adult diapers). Then they were attempting to get me to take her out to do things, well that would have been fine if she wasn't consistently C-Diff positive. They once didn't feed her all day, all day with Alzheimer's. I ended up going to a Drive thru and buying a few meals as she hadn't eaten all day! Then there was one time where she threw up and nobody cleaned it up. I tried to do it. There was only one person that was a night nurse who was an angel. Watch Out everyone!!!! read more

If you care about your loved one DO NOT take them here. My father was taken there after a fall and it was the worst decision we could have made. His room was disgusting, blood on the carpet, chair and sheets. I was there every day because I was concerned about his care. I would find him hanging off the bed and he had four falls during his stay. He has dementia and I found medication he had thrown on the floor five times. The staff was not concerned when we told them. My father lost10 pounds while he was there and therapy given was a joke. read more

This is another place that needs to be shut down. The staff here treats family members so badly. They neglect their residents and get upset with the family for asking for quality care. Do not be fooled by the nice building. They will smile i. Your face for a few months and then they will show their true identity. How come the United States care so much about crisis in other countries, when there are major issues going on with our elderly getting abused. June17,2025 I was their just lately ,two and a half weeks coming from spinal surgery in Methodist Richardson Hospital next door.They treated me pretty well took care of my needs.The PT staff was exceptionally good I got stronger every day ,Very kind people.Speach Therapist worked with you and had a bunch of tasks for your memory and a lot of other things for small groups,she really knew what she was doing.Two RN,s were exceptional Kendra and "T" for short both hard workers ,Kind and caring ,then three techs Ashley,Nenya,and Gabriella and then Rochelle who cleaned the room,very pleasant and hard worker alway,s a smiling .The rest of the staff were pretty good.There communication with patients was very antiquated,need to up date . The food was ok ,didn't meet my diet restrictions, but wasn't very hungry anyway.I did notice they seemed to be understaffed and overworked.And I thank them all for helping me after the painfull surgery.Keep up the good work. read more

This is a TERRIBLE stay for elders in need of actual assistance. My 80-year-old grandma got a room on a Thursday morning, and that entire first day should've been our red flag. She got moved to this rehab center from a stroke left side deficit. She received no medication the day she entered, one meal and hardly any attention. When we walked by nurse areas, all nurses were sitting chatting or on their phones. As a proactive family, we got a small camera to keep an eye on her during the night since she is unable to care for herself from the stroke. Knowing that she had a stroke, the facility also didn't care because they would drop off food and not offer to help feed her or change her when she asked. Staff assumed she was lying about needing to be changed because they had changed her 30 minutes prior. If you have dietary needs, forget it here. She is recovering from a stroke, and because they don't care about their needs, they served her a pulled pork sandwich.... She was on a minced food diet from the hospital. They simply don't care. Over Friday night, she was half way hanging off her bed because she was sleeping and rolled over. The railing on the beds are basically non existent. That's why she was hanging off. We had to call the 800 number 5-7 times just to get ahold of someone to come help her on the bed again. Yet, they claim they "check on them every hour." That's complete BS. Fast forward 24 hours, early Sunday morning, she completely FELL OFF THE BED. Again, no assistance from staff and was just left on the floor. When we saw her, we had to admit her to the hospital because she was in so much pain. The staff, the food, the facility, just absolutely disgusting. read more

This place is horrible. The people are as my dad put it: "Probably as bad as they get". The left my mom naked laying in bed while they went to get clean bedding. This happened multiple times why in the world wouldn't you bring the bedding when you came to the room. My entire visit I never saw anyone not one single person working - it was like a ghost town. I honestly don't think that there is a decent skilled nursing facitility anywhere. At this point decent would be better than what we've seen so far. So frickin sad. read more

They just don't care, father in law lost 25 pounds in 5 days, severe dehydration. Had to call 911 so he could be transported to a hospital. Just sad that you have to spend hours a day hounding people. We will not be going back if he recovers. read more

I have a longtime friend who is here. He has been in other facilities and this one compares favorably to some of the others. The one concern of his and mine for him is the food. They brought his lunch while I was visiting and it looked horrible! A piece of dried out turkey was literally swimming in beet juice. When they scooped the beets on the plate they didn't bother to drain. The side dish was a mystery that looked totally unappetizing. Turned out according to the menu to be corn gratin or something with a similar name. They need to fix the food. It has been my experience over the years that food is the limiting factor in all areas of institutional car. Indadeqate nutrition is aggravated by unappetizing food that is left uneatin. read more

I cannot list all the negative things that happened while my mom was in rehab back in March/April 2023. I would have to say the rehab was mediocre... because I NEVER SAW IT! Every time I came (which was every day for hours), my mom was in the bed. I had to finally ask them that when she came back from rehab to please let her sit in the chair so she could maintain some of her core body strength. I really do think they had decided that because she was 94 years old, she wouldn't be able to walk. They really did my mom a disservice! Other things: they "forgot" to close her urine bag 3 times and let the urine run all over the carpet (yes, she was on a catheter until I asked them to finally remove it and to take her to the bathroom instead). Her room smelled worse than a bathroom. All it takes is just a little competence to know to close the urine bag! I was supposed to get weekly reports but I had to "fight" to speak to the "social worker" that was supposed to give me the reports. I had an outside source looking for an assisted living facility for my mom to move to when she was finished with rehab and that person could not get the "social worker" to call her back, either, and she was trying to plan her release! I finally told them my mom would be leaving in 2 days! I was so fed up with the lack of knowledge, professionalism, and communication we received from San Remo. By the way, I did not pick this place for my mom. The LTAC (long term assisted care) place moved her there against my wishes while I was out of town. I had asked them not to move her to The Belmont in Allen, TX so instead they moved her to San Remo (a sister facility). If you have had a good experience at this place, great for you! I will NEVER put anyone I care about in this place ever again! read more

I have personal experience with San Remo and although it started off rocky due to my husband being transported from the hospital without med orders it was all resolved. Let's face it. Most of these nursing/rehab facilities are subpar and I know as I went through it with both my mother in law and my father. What I can tell you is as a relative you MUST take an active roll in this process and change of life path. Some employees care...some don't. It's in all kinds of businesses. San Remo's PT, OT and Speech therapy was bar none! My husband came out of the hospital not ambulatory and had no balance. He then had trouble swallowing as well as he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. Maria and Melissa worked every single weekday with him and he is now walking without the aid of a walker. We will continue to use it as a helpful aid. Becca gave me a recommendation for an out patient program (Big and Loud) that I've now got him enrolled in. Jana (speech therapist) recommended a swallow study that has helped immensely. Rachel works on balance and is really knowledgeable and patient. Again...we're all busy and have a life to lead but when a loved one needs special attention and needs more help than we can give at home, it's imperative that we are involved and invested as much as possible with these facilities. read more

We are trying to figure out how to get our family member out of this hell hole. The staff doesn't care about the patients and actually alienate the ones who need their services the most. There is no regard for special diets and diabetics have to eat what they serve, causing sugar spikes, or just go hungry. I called the nurses station from my home to try get help for my family member who's desperate calls to them were being ignored and the nurse hung up on me when I told her the room number. The room is dirty, the bathroom is nasty. They don't bathe the patients and urinary tract infections are common. The staff isn't gentle with elderly patients and frankly, I'm afraid for my family member's well being and possibly life. The staff is shorthanded, lazy and they lie to us. They have been promising to replace the very uncomfortable broken bed and chair for weeks. They leave patients alone for hours and don't check on them enough. San Remo is too expensive for all the non-care and disregard for the elderly. Please don't put anyone you care about in this place. read more

My mom was sent there to rehab her leg after surgery. They put her in a room without checking on her. The staff is unprofessional and don't care about patients. Worst place for care. Wouldn't give even give her anything to eat. We had to get her out of there and just bring her home where our family will care for her. Beware of this place!! read more

San Remo- more like the San Reaper. I have had loved ones in nursing facilities all over Texas and this location is by far the worst location ever. The staff is either incompetent or simply don't care. If you want your love ones to improve their life, rehab, and health do not send them here. So let's break it down- Food- if you have dietary needs do not send here. My loved one has diabetes and needs low carb and low sodium. So what for breakfast? Bisc and gravy or French toast and super salty bacon. Dried cake every lunch/dinner. Her blood sugar was constantly in the 400 due to this location! Medication- there was not a single day that medication was given correctly and on time. How hard is it to take blood sugar before every meal and then give meds. How hard is it follow clearly written dr orders.... too hard for San Reaper is how hard. The smell- sanitation - is absurd. The stench of this place is unbelievable and unbearably strong. It gives you a head ache if you don't keep your room door closed. Bathing.. - loved one did not receive showers on a routine basis. In summary- leave your family member in the hospital or find another location!! read more

I chose this facility because they adhere to the quality of care that Baylor does. My mother was transferred from the hospital to San Remo late Saturday afternoon. Due to Covid restrictions, I'm unable to visit her. The rooms do not have phones. You have to call the front desk and leave a message for the shift nurse. It's at the nurse's discretion to take their personal phone to the patient to speak with family. There's one employee that uses her personal iPad for FaceTime but that's hit or miss. No one from our family has been able to speak with my mother for 1.5+ days and NONE of the nurses have bothered to call back despite 4 messages. My Mom has cognitive challenges that are worse when she's ill and out of her normal environment. It breaks my heart that I can't speak with her regularly to check on her and to reassure her that everything is going to be alright. UPDATE: I was able to finally speak with her and she was very clear-headed in telling me she was accosted by a caregiver on 3 separate occasions. As in physical abuse. I immediately had them discharge her. The worker is off the premises until the investigation is complete. Do not place your loved one here unless you plan on no contact with them or the nursing staff. read more

After staying at the Richardson Methodist Hospital for a week due to seizures, pneumonia, and cardiac arrest, I lost some physical balance and was in need of continuation of physical and occupational therapy at a rehabilitation center. Ended up here. Now, I want to say, I don't judge a place completely off of just yelp and google reviews. Plus, because I was told I probably will still approximately a week, I wasn't really in the mindset to dig around for a facility because I would probably be out of there in a jiffy. Although now I do have my regrets. my timeline: - When I first arrived, there was/were no employee(s) that formally introduced themselves, and got me with the program. so honestly, I was just out and about. the most that happened with me in the beginning was some random nurse/employee named Kerry telling me to sign something and taking my paperwork. no big deal, but i mention this to kinda show you the foreshadowing from the lack of professionalism - Few minutes later, two nice welcoming therapists approach me and gives me an evaluation. After I asked a couple of basic questions to get the picture of how this place works, they told me there are no curfews/hours, and no set schedule. they told me i pretty much had to get my PT/OT done, and i'm pretty much done for the day. that's the information I got. - later that day, I wanted to catch a class so I would not be left behind for school, I verified with the front desk, signed out, etc. Nothing seemed wrong. - things started going downhill when I got back. one sketchy thing about how this building works is that whenever someone uses a door that is not the main entrance, or has to be let in after a certain time, or something, the building alarm rings until an employee turns it off. I happen to come back in the evening, having to have someone let me in. strange part was when i walked in, there was nobody a the front desk, so that means they don't even check who comes into the building? I went ahead to my room. When I was in a while and kept on hearing for 20 mins straight, I hit up the front desk through a phone call asking why the alarm was still ringing, and already I get a rude tone. When I started to realize that maybe the guy couldn't hear me clearly, I decided to walk to the front desk. when i asked the receptionist why the alarm kept ringing, he answers me with more questions, and gives me attitude... "what do you mean? you just got here." When clearly the guy was not paying attention to my problem, I at least went there to see the medical record/packet the nurse I first saw took from me when I first arrived, and I got a reply of "I don't have your medicine you did not come in time you were supposed to take it." I got irritated and eventually left. - during the night, I was approached by Kerry, and one of the managers Stephanie (?), when i was explain about how i can't go out all the time, I acknowledged and understood. i had some attitude from one of the managers i believe, with all that puckered up lips and tone, but i brushed it aside, and at least appreciated the communication - in the morning, top dogs, i'm assuming the main doctor and another manager, communicated with me, and i explained to them my commitments and complications outside the facility, and they said "your professors should understand." i clarified with them that i had one thing to sort out for the day at around 10am, and after that i'm good - an hour later, I was grabbed by a PTA to do some exercises, and when I said I asked to importantly check my phone on something as well as attempt to request to go and come back, she didn't even let me finish, and straight up interrupted "nope she has to stay the whole time" - as soon as I finished, i had to go for a clinical study, i verified with the desk and everything, and then all of a sudden, the top doctor notified me I needed to attend the "town meeting"? whatever what means at a rehab center. in summary, - vague and inconsistent information on how the sessions work - unprofessional attitude - no defined structure on getting patient on the details - unorganized teamwork (because they don't tell one another vital information) - unhealthy environment in general just from the approach a lot of the therapists take. some are great, but some don't even listen to their clients, who are mostly old by the way. I witnessed one therapist argue with another#1: "hey go a little easy on her, she's been having a lot of shoulder pain"#2: "she can handle it, plus I change procedures when dr tate (head doctor) make the call#1: "dr. tate said to accommodate more to the clients, and you still don't listen - side note: many fines and deficiencies according to Nursing Home Inspections. so if you don't take my word on it or these other reviews, i'm sure you can somewhat raise some suspicion when it comes to violations of inspections - horrible food by the way. never consulted with me any food plans. read more

My 93 year old mother had been in San Remo several years back and she wanted to go there once released from the hospital in March. She was there for one week and received awful care. She was neglected in every aspect.The staff acted offended when I would ask them to do something regarding her care. My mother's health declined in a week and I took her out and she was readmitted to the hospital, UTSW. The ER Dr. said she was dehydrated and neglected. My mother needed help with her meals and they never helped. The food would be delivered and if she couldn't feed herself they would just pick up the untouched tray and never offer help. The room was filthy at one point and I asked if they'd clean it and they told me the housekeeping was gone and would have to stay that way. I wouldn't recommend anyone go to this place. It seems it has changed management since the last time she was at San Remo. Understaffed and they were negligent and not interested in caring for my mother. I am surprised this place can stay open. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Do NOT put your loved one in this place. My Mom was there last week to regain strength after having pneumonia 2.5 weeks ago. We were only allowed to visit 2x a week due to Covid. When I went Saturday, I found my Mom hanging half way out of the bed, on oxygen and gasping for air. The nurses didn't seem to think this was anything to get excited about. They told me she had an X-ray the day before and had pneumonia again. NO ONE called us to let us know. No one had started an IV or antibiotics as they were waiting for the doctor to come and do that. They put oxygen on her and left her that way. When I asked for her to be transferred the hospital, they said "no, we can handle it"! I had to call 911 and have the paramedics come and get her. Her oxygen saturation was only 80% on 3L of oxygen. Her a heart rate was 125 and it is normally 50. She would have died that night if I hadn't gone. Instead she died Monday from the neglect she received at this horrible place. I am reporting them to the state board over nursing homes/rehab centers. DO NOT PUT ANYONE YOU LOVE HERE!!! read more

My husband was very ill for many years and was in and out of skilled nursing facilities the whole time. This is the worst facility of this kind I have ever seen. They are HORRIBLY understaffed, my poor mother would stay hooked up to an IV for hours after it was finished, trapped like a rat. I timed it one day, it took 2 hours and 45 minutes for someone to finally come to see why she had buzzed. And she NEVER buzzes, it's not like she's a pain. And don't even get me started on the food. I never saw such small portions for one thing, and just awful tasting. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. I hope someone from that facility looks and sees how many horrible reviews they are receiving so they will do some improving. read more

I have to share my experiences about San Remo. Team San Remo has given me five +years I would never of had with my mother Without their care and help. I'm also a healthcare worker in skilled nursing post-acute care so I am more critical and my eyes are more open to what goes on in skilled nursing facilities/short-term rehabilitation. My precious mother had a life change and needed 24/7 care. San Remo has been her home for the past five years. I have spent the night in her room. So I have first-hand experience of watching what happens. I have watched the staff I've interacted with the leadership team on an intimate level regarding her care. I have cried with these people and I have celebrated with these people. I have to say I am in awe of how they respond to me, my family and my mother. I have learned by working and serving in this setting that it takes two teams to care for your loved one.You have to partner with the team at the facility and work together in collaboration. This team allows that and embraces it. I live in California and far away from my mother at San Remo. This team allows me to text them and ask questions and they respond to me quickly regarding my mother's care. Absolutely appalling. San Remo should be stripped of its license. The staff is completely ill informed and unskilled. The utter lack of compassion or desire to help the patients under their care is egregious. The communication between the nursing staff and doctors (who only show up twice a week) is non-existent. Orders for blood tests were not fulfilled, breathing treatments not administered and IV drips left hanging in a room unattached to the patient as outrageously expensive antibiotics dripped on the filthy carpet. We witnessed non-ambulatory patients left in their wheelchairs in the hallways for hours at a time unattended. When a staffer was asked why a patient was screaming for at least 10 minutes, her callus response was "oh, she does that whenever she doesn't get her way" then proceeded to let her continue screaming (unattended) for another 5 minutes. My next letter will be to Texas Health and Human Services. But for those looking for quality, compassionate care for an elderly loved one, please do not bring them to San Remo. read more

I've been here for 3wks. I only have good things to say about this facility! Well, almost ( the food is terrible, i mean really, in my opinion to heal properly you need FOOD, good FOOD! Some of the food i didn't know if was even editible. I've been here before, therefore i had a guideline! Back then the dining room and menu was almost restaurant quality....)....... My Nanaw spent the last 6 months of her life as a resident at San Remo in Richardson, Texas. Donna (DON), James, and the entire nursing team took such great care of her, even encouraging her to get out of bed on her worst of days. Nanaw's feet gave her constant pain due to neuropathy. With the encouragement of the staff, she was able to get out of bed on numerous occasions to go shopping, play bingo (her favorite), and get a manicure by Heidi. Nanaw met so many special friends including Keisha Winston (admissions) and Carrin (receptionist) that constantly entertained her and brought joy into her life. Jennifer Garcia (administrator) made sure that Nanaw was always well taken care of and happy. I speak for my entire family by saying "thank you". Thank you for loving our Nanaw as if she were one of your own. We will be eternally grateful to all of the staff at San Remo. You will be missed by many Nanaw. We had a really poor experience with San Remo. At first the staff would get my mother up for therapy. After a while they stopped pushing for her to go. The one nurse who looked after my mother most days, Tamisha, should be terminated. Her attitude was surly from the first evening of my mom's admission. My mother was tired and scared and she did nothing to make her feel welcomed. She talked over her and ignored her questions. She rushed through the admissions process and was put out by any question or request. She acted as though she couldn't be bothered by any of this and any time we had any interaction with her she was thoroughly put out. When one of my mom's close friends went to visit her and went to the nurses station to ask Tamisha a question, the nurse looked at her (only after our friend had to speak in order to get her attention away from her picking her nails) and said very snarly like: "What??" When my mother was being discharged, the same nurse walked into the room and looked at my mother and rudely said: "Well, it's been real". My mother had told me that this same nurse got in her face and told her she wasn't taking any of her stuff and better do as she's told. The same said nurse told me, when I inquired about why my mother's backside and frontside were beet red from diaper rash said, "She got on one of her attitude kicks and wouldn't let us change her but once a day for a couple of weeks". I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I'm a licensed therapist and have worked in senior adult psychiatric facilities. As health care workers, we are charged with doing what is best for the patient's care even when they do not. What a crock. I must say that the therapy people doing her speech and physical therapies were quite nice and patient. There was one nurse, Tracy, who was one of the few bright spots in my mother's otherwise poor stay. Since they also had an incorrect cell phone number for me (which I corrected in our first meeting with the social worker and another nurse) they weren't able to contact me to let me know that because she was refusing therapy, she would be going private pay. What would they have done if something had happened to my mother during that time?! I guess I would just find out when I went up there. It wasn't until I left a message for the DON asking for a meeting because I felt we had gone off track with my mother's care and left my number that they finally called and told me she had been on private pay since the 14th! We ended up paying a little over a $1,000 out of pocket for 5 days! Even though THEY had the wrong number for me, the financial person, Connie, acted like we had skipped town and she offered no apology whatsoever. She said they had sent a certified letter about it, however, it was sent to my mother's house! I don't live at my mother's home. Whatever you do, avoid San Remo as if your life depended on it...or better yet, your loved one's life. Because it just may well be the worst choice you could make for them. Oh and San Remo? Tamisha the LVN has, by far, one of the worst attitudes I've ever encountered at any place of business. She is rude, surly and generally disgusted with life and takes it out on everyone around her. My grandmother was brought there to receive care, possibly the last place she would ever see. She needed to go to the bathroom but can't walk, the 'caregiver' came in and told her that it's not his skill set. She wound up sleeping in her own urine. Then she called another family member and was begging them to get her out of there, the 'caregiver' yelled at her and demanded to know who she was talking to and to get off the phone. Another family member that was there tried helping her get into bed and the 'caregiver' came in to help and tossed her on the bed like she was a bag of potatoes. She has Parkinsons and just had a stroke. The family member asked for a supervisor and was told they weren't there and to file a complaint at the front desk, then demanded she leave. I would say this place is a last resort at best but it shouldn't even be an option. The only good thing about this place is that she's not there anymore. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS FACILITY. My father was a patient at San Remo for two days. Unknown to us at the time that he was transferred there, the facility was not at all equipped to deal with his condition, but they accepted him nonetheless. There was no orientation of any kind upon arrival and my mom was left to figure everything out on her own. They didn't even have a room ready for him. Worst of all, the staff had not even read his chart or history. They had no idea about anything at all. My mom checked to made sure that they had his meds and his meds schedule before she left him for the night and they blatantly lied to her. The next day, he had not received any of his medication. This was incredibly dangerous because his meds are time sensitive and he has to have them on a schedule. When asked why he wasn't given them, they said that they were shorthanded and didn't have time to get to everyone. The next day, my mom arrived and a nurse was in my dad's room. Immediately, she heard him making a rattling choking sound. She panicked and asked what happened and the nurse just said, "Oh, he doesn't normally make that sound?" My mom called 911 because he was in distress and paramedics came and said that he had asphyxiated on his food. He was rushed to the hospital, had to stay for days in the ICU, and come to find out - San Remo staff had overdosed him on pain medication, making it impossible for him to swallow. He choked and asphyxiated. He was released from ICU only to catch an infection in the hospital and went back to ICU, where he passed away a couple of weeks later. When my mom tried to contact San Remo repeatedly to find out exactly what happened, she was never given a callback. Weeks later, someone from Caretex headquarters (who manages San Remo) called my mom to see how my dad was doing at San Remo and to survey her about their experience. They had absolutely no clue what had happened. They took a detailed report from her and never called her back, despite their claim that they would. My mom and aunt showed up to gather his things and no one was there, and the head nurse, who my mom had been trying to contact was mysteriously not there. The director of the facility has gotten several calls from us but does not call back. any patients there were complaining about not getting their meds as well. Do not be fooled by the nice facilities, this place is a death trap. The patients are neglected unless they have family there with them all day. My dad had complicated health issues and although San Remo is not the sole cause of his death, it definitely sent him on a trajectory that led to his end. I feel compelled to warn others so that no one else has to experience what we have. read more

Take the time to read these reviews...........I ECHO: Do not send your loved one to this facility; complete incompetency; Find another location! My mother is in the late stages of Alzheimer's and broke her hip. After five (5) days in the hospital she was transferred to San Remo. Christine Cooper sold a bill of goods and has never been seen or heard from again. Well, Ms. Cooper, you lied. Your "new" management staff is obviously no better than the previous group; you do not care about residents deploy, or otherwise; and I, in addition to many others are "letting you know", so you have NO excuse not to fix it. Thought maybe it was our family that felt shafted, but I have gone through numerous review sites and find it disgusting to read so many familiarities of horrific care for so many patients. One can only imagine the care not given and neglect bestowed upon patients who have no family to report such atrocities. My mother was a San Remo for 18 days. My 83-year-old father, four (4) brothers and I were at San Remo 24/7 for 18 days with the exception of a four-hour period when the family left tot meet off-site. The meeting was during lunch service. Upon return it was asked how much she ate and drank - we were having issues with eating and drinking and one would have thought they would have wanted to keep track of her intake. The nurse had no idea - that is the aide's job. Due to shift change the aide was gone for the day, yet the nurse did not know how to access the records inputted by the aide???????????? This was a common theme: that is not my job and ZERO communication between any staff members or departments. It became quite frustrating to be told different things by each different person - nurses, aides and therapist, not to mention the lies and various stories told by management. I can confirm most of the complaints posted by others. San Remo claims 90+% dementia patients - IF that is true, God bless 90% of their clientele. As a trainer of personnel working with Special Needs students, my bus drivers and monitors could have done a better job dealing with my mother. San Remo is responsible for my mother being labeled a "combative" patient unable to be "helped". A danger to their staff - what a bunch of babies. If they had been professional in their jobs they should have been properly trained and prepared for such behavior. Instead, they gave up. Because an Alzheimer's patient did not understand their direction and swung at them touching her, they decided she was not worth their efforts and by Day 5 when the staff met with the family (only one of whom had dealt with the patient), they were already preparing to discharge her. My mother was EVICTED from San Remo. Eight (8) days after admission was to be her last day. No one in the family, despite someone being on premise 24/7, was informed of this until 2:41pm on the last day of approved coverage. An appeal was granted covering eight (8) additional days, yet four (4) days prior, the family was given TWO (2) HOURS to provide an address for immediate transfer. SAN REMO EVICTED A SICK PATIENT WHOSE INSURANCE COVERAGE HAD BEEN APPROVED; A 78-YEAR-OLD, 5'2", 112 POUND LADY WITH ALZHEIMER'S WHO DID NOT KNOW WHAT SHE WAS DOING; WHOSE FAMILY DID ALMOST EVERYTHING FOR THE CRY BABY STAFF AND CHRISTINE COOPER AND SAN REMO MANAGEMENT IS GOING TO CLAIM TO CARE DEEPLY ABOUT PATIENTS???????????????? Believe these negative reviews and do not send anyone you care about to this facility. And, Ms. Cooper, please do not write an insincere apology. Your corporate office, Cantex, unable to answer their phones at 1:20 in the afternoon on a Monday, each local Dallas news station, BBB, Department of Aging and Disabilities, Medicare, Humana and anyone who will listen will hear and read about the horrors of San Remo and the disrespect my mother, a human being needing your help, received. read more
