Our Waitress was friendly, attentive and willing to please. We had some wine and the thickest hot chocolate ever. The most negative thing I can say about Nonna Gina is that they only take cash…read more Nonna Gina is a cute small restaurant found in the medieval looking streets of Cesky Krumlov. The outside is a cute unassuming restaurant front. Downstairs you have the kitchen and a gorgeous staircase up to the dining area. The restaurant seating is small so coming early or making a reservation is a great idea. The food here was top notch Italian food. The pizza tasted fresh and was authentic. The pasta was equally amazing. Prices are fair, albeit in cash. I do wish they had some different beers on tap as there is something inherently wrong with drinking Budweiser in one of the beer capitals of the world. Overall, NG is really top notch and one of the better meals I had in weeks of eating out throughout Czech Republic.

Italian food mainly with some Czech-ish items. Loved the onion rings with cheese sauce. For a few who it matters to.... the bolognese is beef only. No pork. Spaghetti with bolognese was good. Spaghetti oglio was really good too. Add a chili oil and it was perfect. Pizza was decent. Chicken Cesar salad was just ok. Service was friendly and relatively quick.

We were…read morequickly seated but had to ask our server about timing since we had to meet up with our tour group at a certain time. She seemed slightly annoyed by our request but also made sure we didn't have to wait crazy long for our food. I ordered (and shared) a white pizza with spinach and speck. My friend ordered a salad. We both really enjoyed our meal, and I'd daresay this one of my all-time favorite, most memorable meals in the Czech Republic. Everything tasted really fresh and you could even see the chef making the pizzas. The atmosphere was bright and airy -- good for family outings, for casual meals with friends, and for anyone in the mood for Italian.

Server was a very sweet, but overworked, lady. The gnocchi was over seasoned, strong on the salt. On the other hand, the tagliatelle was under seasoned and on the bland side. Not bad, but just off enough to not be excellent, hence the 4*.

Cozy, reasonably priced place for very decent Italian food in Cesky Krumlov…read more Comfy seating areas both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor seating area includes a playground for kids too :) Would highly recommend the spaghetti aglio olio e peperoncino if you can take spicy, and the pizza prosciutto di parma. The pasta is hand-made; very tasty and slightly chewy (a bit on the harder side, which I personally like). Excellent prosciutto on the pizza and tasty crust (not too thin, but not too thick either). The mixed salad with cheese and olives and the spaghetti bolognese were solid choices as well. We had a very patient and helpful waiter, service was excellent and we left feeling replenished and satisfied!

I was wandering around the center looking for a coffee place open on a Sunday morning and found cafe retro. Staff was very kind, spoke English, Czech and some German. Interior is very classy but still casual. Very clean, neat and organized- I think couples, single and small groups best for here. Kid ah, maybe if they are well behaved. More a place to be social but people are still working on their laptops because here comes the shocker....they have free wifi!!!! Not many places here do besides hotels so that's a selling point. Their prices are fair for the location, 50 crowns for latte, 35 for espresso and so on. They also have quite a few different brews to choose from-impressive If you're a coffee lover in this small town with not many options. They also have some real food here too so if you get hungry while here don't worry, you don't even have to leave. Think pizza, pasta and steak amount others. All looked delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone in cesky krumlov- great hangout!
