I would not recommend them to anyone. I will never use them again. Their rates are high and they took over 4 weeks to refund my money. I was very patient and even offered them a payment plan, if they were having cash flow issues. I had to revert to actually going into the office and the secretary made 3 mistakes in the accounting of 2 simple invoices, which ok, we can all make mistakes but to treat me so rudely and to say I put her "through so much" was unfound. She treated me as though something was my fault and was extremely uncivil to me. I did not deserve that treatment nor should any client. She started yelling at the top of her lungs! She was flustered, unprofessional and down right CRUDE. The funny thing is I have no idea why they treated me like this...I was able to settle with my ex-husband without upping the lawyer fees, maybe that is what upset the office?!?! Mr. Borg also was yelling at me and was right up in my face! I thought I was in the twilight zone! I just wanted my $3600.00 refund, is that such a problem? Can't we just discuss it like normal adult clients??? I have other lawyers I work with and they are very reasonable. Mr. Borg was not. (I finally did get my refund back that day because I advised him if I did not receive it by the following Friday I would file a formal complaint with the State Board). When he saw that my figures were correct, he calmed down a bit but that ill treatment towards me was out of control. I feel that he did not have my best intentions at heart and they are ONLY in for it for the money. I have spent over 40K with this law firm in the past and to be treated with the disrespect that they showed me is appalling. They even had the audacity to kick out my boyfriend from the office, calling him "my bouncer"! I am shocked that they are still in business with the ill treatment towards a good paying client with that behavior in 2017. I can't be the only client they treat in this fashion, it seemed as though it was normal everyday behavior in their office! Shame on them.

He told me it should run me between $5000 and $10,000 Maximum. After a few months, his paralegal told me I needed to hire another attorney to draw up the DRO for the division of my brokerage account, pension, etc. I had to spend another $3600 to retain an attorney who "wrote the book on DRO's." Had I known Mr. Johnson or his staff weren't capable of drafting a simple DRO, I might not have retained him. The attorney he referred me to would seldom return my phone calls or phone calls to Mr. Johnson's office. Her incompetence cost me another few thousand dollars in attorney fees and drew out a simple divorce to lasting over a year and a half. My total legal fees between Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Elizabeth Van Clief amounted to over $17,000 and months of delays and frustrations. One thing I will sat us Mr. Johnson's office staff and paralegals were outstanding.
