I contacted several funeral homes yet I chose this establishment because Isabel was prompt, detailed and straight forward with what we needed and the pricing that this would entail. Isabel communicated every step of the process and helped answering any questions I had in a prompt and kind manner. She also helped us with ordering flowers and making sure the booklet we chose for my sisters viewing was exactly as we envisioned it. Additionally, we wanted to make sure no one took pictures of my sisters body and Isabel make sure signs were posted with these instructions. We are forever grateful to have chosen this establishment. Not only is the care exceptional but also the location is beautiful. The viewing room is perfect for the amount of people we needed and the parking lot offered plenty of parking for our guests. To finalize my review, my sister believed that the body is temporary but that the soul never dies. Through our many conversations we talked about cremation as our desire when it came time for the soul to go back to the source. We are spiritual and we often came from San Diego to frequent the meditation garden in Encinitas (just 5 minutes away from El Camino), she often times said that Encinitas was her favorite place. I hope you felt honored sis and I am forever grateful to have had such a beautiful soul as a sister in this life. I will see you again when life decides its my turn and I will cherish the grief because it will forever be the greatest reminder of how much I love you and how blessed I am to have had you as a sister in this life

Losing our mother has been one of the hardest experiences our family has ever had to face. Saying goodbye to someone you love so deeply is never easy. But Captain Joe and his crew helped turn what could have been an overwhelming and heartbreaking day into something peaceful, comforting, and truly beautiful. From the moment we stepped on the boat, they treated us with such kindness, patience, compassion, and respect. They understood that we were grieving, and they took care of every detail so that we could focus on being together as a family and saying our final goodbye. I will never forget something Captain Joe said to us when we boarded. He told us, "When you get back to shore, you'll have a smile." At the time, with everything we were feeling, I couldn't imagine that being possible. But when we returned to shore, I understood exactly what he meant. Somehow, through the peace and beauty of the experience, we were able to smile. We felt a sense of peace in our hearts that I will never forget. Captain Joe and his crew didn't just provide a service--they gave our family compassion when we needed it most. They helped us create a final memory with our mother that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. On behalf of my entire family, I want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are deeply grateful for the kindness, care, and love you showed us during one of the most difficult moments of our lives. You helped us say goodbye to our mother with dignity, peace, and love, and you helped us take that first step toward the next chapter of our lives without her. I truly cannot thank you enough, Captain Joe. May God bless you and your entire crew for the kindness you showed my family. We will never forget you or what you did for us.. Every experience I've had has been met with kindness and respect. When I lost my father years ago, they made an incredibly difficult process as easy as possible, and I have always appreciated that. I especially want to recognize Rachel for going above and beyond for our family recently. During a family ceremony earlier this month, one of my family members lost an earring. We found the earring, but the backing had accidentally been thrown away. Even after we told Rachel not to worry about it, she took it upon herself to look for it -- and actually found it! It was such a small thing, but her kindness and effort meant so much to us. Thank you to Rachel and the entire staff for the care and respect you continue to show families and for all you do to maintain such a large and meaningful property.

Disappointing Condition and Lack of Upkeep The condition of…read morethe grounds at El Camino Memorial in Sorrento Valley is very disappointing. The Celestial Garden section of the cemetery appears unkempt, with deteriorated and missing grass and exposed dirt throughout the surrounding area. A work order was previously submitted regarding lawn care, but unfortunately, nothing appears to have been done to address these concerns. A recent burial site in particular was poorly finished, with visible cracks, exposed dirt, and areas where the grass is missing. The condition of the site gives the impression that the burial area was not properly restored or maintained following the burial. Even more disappointing, flowers that had been placed at the burial site were moved to the neighboring plot rather than being properly cleared or removed. The burial plot was left with debris covering the grass, and the grass in the area is now brown and deteriorating as well. Families should be able to expect a clean, well-maintained, and respectfully cared-for environment when visiting a loved one's burial site. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and provides better maintenance, attention, and care to these areas.

The hospice house my mom was in offered a list and mentioned another local mortuary. After a decidedly inferior interaction with that organization I moved on. Kelcey answered my call and I continue to be grateful. I was horribly unprepared for the decisions I needed to make and she guided me through every single step with as much care as a close friend would have. There were many pricing options and I found them to be varied and fair. I would absolutely recommend Kelcey and this business to anyone looking for their services. Thank you so so much Kelcey!

Like so many of the other reviews, I have only positive things to say about Oceanside Mortuary and…read moretheir team of compassionate representatives. As I live in Northern California, when my father passed away I did not know who to select for his mortuary needs and went with another service. My initial interactions with that company's representatives were so disappointing that I contacted Oceanside Mortuary. Within the first few minutes of our phone conversation, they exhibited such care and professionalism that I asked them to take over my father's arrangements. When I met in person with Mary a short time later, she walked me through the process, explained options (all of which were very reasonable in price), and did not try to pressure me into selecting one option over another. My father's service, while brief, brought comfort to my mother and all who attended, and this was due in large part to Mary and her colleagues. Had my interactions with Oceanside Mortuary stopped there, I would have gladly given them five stars. Now, I would double that if I could. Let me explain. Several months after my father's passing I learned that my mother, as the widow of a veteran, might qualify for additional benefits if we could show one of several conditions had contributed to his death. While he had suffered from the listed conditions, they were not included on his death certificate. Not knowing where to begin, I contacted Mary and explained the situation. She soon took the lead with hospice, the physician who completed the death certificate, the county, and state, and was able to obtain a revised death certificate. She also put me in touch with an expert on veterans benefits who discussed with me my mother's situation. Mary's efforts helped my ninety-nine year old mother receive double the military benefits she had been receiving, which will allow her to stay in her current assisted living facility. As Mary worked to get the revised death certificate, she showed the same concern and attention to detail that she did when I first met her. Without any hesitation, I would unequivocally recommend Oceanside Mortuary to anyone who has suffered a loss in their family.

From the very beginning, Jesus provided us with an incredible level of support and compassion that we will never forget. He was kind, patient, and informative, never once rushing or pressuring us into making any decisions about the funeral home. Once we had finalized the church and cemetery, Jesus took care of the rest. We chose to hold the viewing at his chapel, and we're so glad we did--it offered an intimate and peaceful setting during a very emotional time. On the day of the funeral, Jesus continued to show professionalism and grace, helping ease our nerves when emotions were running high. He stayed by our side until the very end at the cemetery. Even after the services, Jesus continued to be helpful--our stepmother reached out to him to order some memorial keychains for the family, and he was able to provide them in a timely and thoughtful manner. What also meant a lot to us was the feedback from others--friends and extended family who attended the memorial service and funeral had nothing but praise for Jesus and the entire Magallon team. Their care, respect, and professionalism did not go unnoticed. We can't thank Jesus enough for the support he gave us during such a difficult time. Choosing Magallon Funeral Home was one of the best decisions we made--you will not regret putting your trust in them.
