Based on that representation, I paid a $137 consultation fee and drove 45 minutes to the appointment. I did not receive what was promised. Dr. Scallion provided only the restorative portion of the plan ($27,100). I was then told the surgical fee -- which would be performed by a completely separate, independent provider (Dr. Burnett) -- would need to be obtained on my own, and would require an additional paid consultation at that office. This two-office billing arrangement was never disclosed before I paid. When I requested a refund based on the broken promise, I was told the consultation "was provided" and no refund would be issued. I contacted over 40 providers during this process. This was the only one that misrepresented what the consultation fee would deliver. Proceed with caution -- ask specifically whether surgery and restorative are billed by the same practice before paying any fee.

I have been a patient here for 1.5 years and have always had good experiences. Dr. Deems is a 'keep-an-eye-on-it' dentist who intervenes when necessary, but does not push needless, expensive treatments. In my experience, he seems to have the patient's best interests at heart. Dr. Deems always takes his time to talk with me - more time than most dentists typically take. They have a wall-mounted TV so you can see your x-rays and....mouth images* while having areas of concern pointed out. *They have this cool new technology that I haven't seen before that uses intense light to image your teeth in a way that is different (and safer) than x-rays. The first visit, I was given a dental guard, she took it away, said, when you paid, that's when you will get this. Mind you, on that day, I paid $ 2700, plus the first visit (consultation fee) which is about $ 200. The charge is not clear, and the price is higher than others. Going to this place was recommended by a trusted doctor, so I was in there with full trust without watching out for funny things. Overall, the doctor is good, most of the staff are friendly, but you need to ask for a clear listing of items and how many visits are included in the treatment plan.

The office was spotless and the equipment was all brand new and high tech. The assistant who cleaned my teeth was great. Didn't feel a thing. And Dr Cloud was great too. I had a tooth that has been sensitive at times. He said it was probably due to an old silver filling I had. Nowadays its all another material that is used. He said it was probably from contraction and expansion from hot and cold. Also said i may need it replaced someday, but didn't pressure me at all to do it here. Said watching and waiting would be just fine. So I would definitely recommend this place. I have found over the years that it is better to avoid brand new dentists. I guess one that has been in an established practice doesn't have the student loans, and car loans, and new McMansion to pay for. I always have better luck with longer-established dentists.
