This place is an absolute gem. I've eaten here many times. The food is always beautifully prepared. The chef puts out truly delicious dishes. I am a fan of the Tom Yum soup. It is quite delicious and has a nice punch of heat. I've also had the sashimi salad, which is excellent, green curry with chicken, which I highly recommend. The past two times I have been here, I have ordered Thai basil chicken. It's made with ground chicken and just the most delicious basil. It's fresh and so beautifully prepared. I personally like it hot. They adjust the spice level to your preference. The staff is always very friendly. If you're in the Saint Pete area, this is by regal Cinema in Pinellas Park. It's between the theater and cold Stone creamery. It's worth the trip. It is truly wonderful.
This is probably one of my favorite meal combinations. Sushi with a noodle soup just heals my soul. This spot was so nice because of how accommodating they were with my dietary asks. I would have preferred a thinner cut cucumber strips inside because the thick chunks kept break the sushi piece open. All the flavors were there though for the sushi and the tom kha. I also loved how the tofu was just plain and not fried. I would come back here! My sister and BIL got specialty rolls and they looked and smelled very good.
I had lunch at Sam's Sushi in Pinellas Park and really enjoyed the experience. I ordered the Thai Spicy Basil with bell peppers, onions, scallions, and fresh basil leaves...full of flavor and just the right amount of heat. My lunch companion ordered the Sex Under Ground roll (tuna, salmon, avocado, mayo, cream cheese topped with yellowtail, tobiko, and sauce), which they really liked as well. Both orders came with a side salad. I did order a Chai Tea, which the waitress forgot until I reminded her, and it was much sweeter than I expected. Aside from that small hiccup, the service was quick and friendly. It's a great lunch spot with plenty of parking and fast turnaround, perfect if you're on a lunch break. Just keep in mind they close between 3-4 PM daily for their afternoon break. Overall, a solid spot for sushi and Thai dishes. I'd definitely return.
Went with my daughter as we were in the area. The sushi rolls were very good actually better than good. They were larger the other places I have been, the service was great. And of course she made me pay. I would come back to this place just because the sushi rolls were decently priced and as I said very good.
Tried this neighborhood sushi joint on a Saturday at 7 PM. The place had plenty of tables open so we were sat immediately. The service was super fast and the restaurant was pretty clean. We started off with the egg rolls, which were OK. They just tasted like basic eggrolls. Then we tried the beef jerky, which was super good, but definitely order it with the sticky rice because it definitely needs some side with it. Then I had the clear soup which was a huge portion, but was very good. Definitely something to get when I'm sick next time. Then I have the hand roll which was super yummy and the monster roll, which was OK. I had the sauce on it that I didn't love and almost had too much imitation crab on top. My boyfriend then had a chicken dish which was super yummy. We definitely enjoyed our dinner here and will be back to try other menu options!

Don't let the name fool you, they have something for everyone & definitely not just sushi. This neighborhood, family owned sushi joint is amazing. It has a quaint & welcoming atmosphere for dine in & was a rotating door for take out throughout our dining experience and I can understand why! Our service was fantastic & the food was even better. For appetizers, we got the Gyoza & Kanisu (krab/avocado rolled in cucumber marinated in rice vinegar); two simple dishes that were out of this world! Seriously, I haven't stopped thinking about this kanisu. For entrees we got the Monster Roll - it took me forever to decide on which to get - and the chicken Katsu.
I've never been to a restaurant that serves both sushi and Thai food and I think this was my last time. Probably best to focus on one cuisine and do it well. Went around 2:20pm on a Monday and the place was pretty empty. The lunch menu looked interesting offering bento boxes, sushi, and Thai cuisine. I decided on the bento box of chicken pad Thai and 3 pieces of nigiri for $12.95. It comes with miso soup or salad and I chose miso soup. Hubby chose the sushi combo that came with 3 rolls: sushi bomb. D. J. and spicy tuna roll for $15.95. It also comes with miso soup or salad and he chose the salad. Very interesting I could see the steam from the miso soup but when I tasted it, it was lukewarm and tasted strange like an artificial taste. The chicken pad Thai was very disappointing as well. It literally tasted like just soy sauce and the chicken was dry. The nigiri was just ok. I expected the fish to be fresher, considering we were in Florida after all. Hubby's rolls were just ok as well. There is plenty of seating with tables and booths. Parking was very easy. Service was fine as well but the taste of the food is the most important factor for me so I probably wouldn't return here.
We ordered the sexy roll and instead of shrimp tempura, they sent us just tempura flakes. So when we bit into the roll all we got was a mouth full of flakes. No actual shrimp and they tried to disguise it. We are disgusted. Disappointed in the flagrant deception.

First, this place is open Sunday!!! Woot! It's located in the shopping center near Cold Stone and outdoor academy. At first, this place was empty, but with us, more people trickled in. It was Superbowl Sunday. There were two huge screens to watch the game. We started with Thai tea, warm sake, tuna tataki and shrimp dumplings. All tasted really good. The tuna came with this amazing ponzu citrus sauce that was magical. We then ordered 3 specially rolls. I do not recall which, but they were fresh, delicious and on point. The service was good and the food, even better. I'll be back to this place!

We had a Filipino and a Vietnamese person in our party of 3. We all thought it was amazing. Beat krab rangoon ever, and the tomakatsu ramen, crispy duck ramen, and shrimp fried rice were expectional. Some of the best we had ever had. Lagre portions, friendly staf and very clean restaurant. Sam's Sushi will be in our restaurant rotation monthly. read more

Best and most consistent Sushi place in Pinellas county. I love the salmon deluxe roll very tasty and always fresh as well as the salmon carpaccio . I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a date night as well. The owners are great hosts as well and always show love. read more

TL;DR: this place was great for takeout and I'm excited to order again! My fiancé and I ordered from here on Valentine's Day. We ordered through Uber Eats. Between order & delivery, it took about 45-minutes to arrive. The food came hot and happy to say was VERY delicious. I ordered the veggie Pad See Ew & spring rolls. The noodles were thinner than traditional Pad See Ew I've had, which was interesting. But the flavor was very good. I really enjoyed their spring rolls as well. My fiancé ordered their Red Curry and asked for suicidal spice and he said it wasn't overly hot. So he was a little disappointed as he expected it to be much hotter. All and all, we were both pleased with the meal and look forward to our next one from there. read more

When I came 3 years ago, this place had just opened and the service was hit or miss. 3 years later, I think they have definitely improved. Service is more attentive, although it can be somewhat slow at times. Ambiance has always been decent here. Not a bad place to come for dinner. I was actually surprised that the Wonton Noodle Soup was a solid choice. They gave good sized wontons that had a decent amount of filling instead of just being all wrapper. The pieces of Charsiu pork was solid in flavor and had good tenderness. The soup was also a good effort with decent depth of flavor. Overall, I liked seeing how the restaurant has matured and improved. I hope they continue to further refine their dishes and service :) read more

Tilapia sashimi. I have never been served Tilapia and I doubt even the Japanese serves this variety. I was a bit concerned if this can be eaten raw and I tried half a piece and spit it out. This location is my second "go to" for sashimi next to Ikigai in St Pete. I can't critic them too hard, it is the Chef's choice but if I get a chance again, I will request no tilapia. On the hand, Sam's is my, "go to" for Ramen in St. pet, FL. It's all about flavor and I've tried all the ramen in the menu, my favorite is duck and tokatsu is next. The cost is normal range in comparison to Dosunko located inTampa. read more

ORDERED - Tuna Tataki | $11.95 - Fire Dragon Roll | $15.95 - Famous Red Curry, Chicken | $10.95 - Pad See Eiw, Chicken | $9.95 STAFF Friendly and attentive. SEATING AREA Plenty of seating inside -- booths and tables PARKING This is in a huge shared parking lot so you should not have any trouble finding parking. OVERALL PAD SEE EIW had fresh noodles and it was very good. The price was a great deal for the amount you get, too. Would definitely order this again. The FAMOUS RED CURRY was also good and did not taste watered down. It did have peas in it, though which I absolutely can't stand. The FIRE DRAGON ROLL was good, but fair warning, the roll's description did not mention that the sauce drizzled on top is a wasabi mayo sauce! This is a great location and I would definitely recommend trying it out when you're finished shopping in one of the stores within the plaza. read more
Located in the Park Place Plaza near the movie theater my friend brought me to This sushi place she said I had to try. She was entirely right !! You walk into dimly lit restaurant that only had two other tables at the time. They have seating at the sushi bar and ample booth setting. Our waitress was quick to ask us about our beverage selections. We looked over the menu which for the most part an entree was 12-16 dollars which I find in the affordable dinner range. We ordered the sashimi , krab Rangoons and summer rolls. The sashimi was very good with a soft texture and no overwhelming taste just the subtly of the fish. The krab Rangoon were excellent and were Exactly what I expected to come out. The summer rolls are hard to explain but entirely worth trying. I can't remember what was in them but they are very refreshing with a crispy outside giving a satisfying crunch. The sauce that you can dip them into was a new mouth experience for me. We asked for a lot more because it's very good. It had me wondering what was in it and with every bite I would try to guess but it taste like so many things at once that are familiar and yet together it tastes entirely new. I highly recommend it. The sushi was good the bagel roll was average and good. It's not very exciting salmon and cream cheese. The other roll was very good as well with more ingredients to spice it up. My friend didn't enjoy the fried outside but I knew what to expect when sushi rolls come fried and it was delicious. I also ordered ramen which was a huge bowl. The meat wasn't very tendered and while I expect pork ramen to be fatty it was a little too fatty and tougher than I expected having had at least a hundred ramen bowls. The broth was still delicious with the noodles and they gave me both sides of the egg which is one of my favorite parts. Most places give you one side so I really appreciate the whole egg. Lots of noodles and the rest of the ingredients like bamboo shoots and seaweed were delicious. I definitely would come again any day !! Friendly and accommodating service since we had a 4-year-old with us. Lots of parking since it's next to the theater and a clean restaurant and bathroom. read more

Yes, yes and yes! Since we decided to go restaurant hopping we thought this place would be a great start to our journey. Staff greeted us with a smile as we entered the restaurant. We noticed that the place wasn't completely full but all the food we saw pass by us looked pretty good and it smelled very delicious. So my friend and I ordered sushi and she also ordered a seaweed salad. My husband ordered a Ramen. My friend and I got our food first. Amazing! So good! I wanted to order another Super crunchy roll but since it was our first stop, I didn't want to over do it. After finishing our meal my husband still hadn't gotten his Ramen. The waitress comes by and asked if we were ready for the check and my husband told her I still haven't even gotten by Ramen yet, I'm still waiting for it. She apologized and 5 mins later she finally came with his Ramen. He ended up not complaining after that because it was so delicious. I tried it and omg! So flavorful! So it was definitely a pass. Hopefully next time we won't have to wait for part of our food to arrive. read more

I've heard a couple of people talk about this place, so I called in a take-out order for lunch. For starters the menu lists a lunch special of "boneless half duck deep fried with choice of house sauce" for 11.95- I arrived and was charged $16 NBD, my issue is that I received a container of sauce and vegetables with a couple small pieces of meat, I brought the untouched order right back into the restaurant brought up the issue and she just shrugged at me. I never leave bad reviews but I'm honestly livid at that interaction. Nothing crispy or duck about it, the rice is kind of mushy and the curry sauce is lacking any sort of spice. No re-make, no refund. Never again. Go to Thai-am where they serve you the actual meal read more

Wanted to update the review 2 1/2 years later. I still love this place. There was a very real fear covid was going to take Sam's Sushi out, so I ordered the contactless delivery at least twice a month. I tried their ramen a few weeks ago, and was pleasantly surprised that it was so amazing. I come from a Japanese family, so ramen is pretty important to me. They really kill it here. The staff is so nice, it's really a great experience all around. Spend your money here. read more

This was the first time having thai dumplings and I'm still thinking about them, they were so good! The sushi was very fresh! Everything came out very quickly as well! I will definitely be coming back and will bring my husband next time! read more

This is a nice, clean new sushi joint in Pinellas Park located in the Target shopping center. They are still working some kinks out and the waitress didn't really know the menu. The place was clean and the service was good. The food was ok. The rolls were hit or miss. Definitely going to give them another chance once they have been open a little longer. Stick with the basic rolls...spicy crunchy tuna was good. read more

We sat at the sushi bar and the owner was so great, he was so accommodating to all of our requests! We loved everything that we ordered, even the wine! We even ended the night with sake shots, we will definitely be back!!!! Best local sushi spot! read more

Sams sushi is a nice place to stop and have lunch or even dinner. I love that I can eat there and then go shopping at the stores near by and don't have to travel far to do both. The sushi was really good I enjoyed eating the monster roll and the volcano roll. Both rolls has so much flavor I also enjoyed a Thai tea with my meal the service was quick fast and friendly! I was seated instantly and I received my rolls very quickly. read more

I had the tonkotsu ramen here. AND BOI LET ME TELL YOU! This was incredible ramen. Me, my best friend, and my husband ate here. Atmosphere here is very nice and calm. Great staff. Great food. They have sushi, different types of curry, ramen, noodle bowls, rice bowls. This place has a little bit of everything and you can order three adult meals and appetizers for under $50. 10/10 recommend read more
