With a very heavy heart that I write this review. Wish I could like more this restaurant because I love Indian food so much. But given that this restaurant is a reopening of another one that was already there and also because this is their second branch, it really does suck, and it sucks royally!
I rally had high expectations for months to come here. But for what it is, wait service, and price, this place is not worth the visit. What did we eat after waiting forever? Glad you've asked:
Chicken Samosa, and veggie samosa: damn, for a house that takes the name Samosa in their name, what they serve is pretty mediocre. Tiny, and now that I have the menu on my other screen and read the menu, here is the description: "The best samosa in São Paulo!", stuffed with potatoes, english peas, cashew nut, raisins, herbs and spices. Honestly I cannot remember raisins nor cashew nut. Plus for R$20 a serving of four, you've gotta be out of your mind! The veggie were better than the chicken. But both mediocre.
Pakoda "Indian Tempura": nothing to do with tempura, it's actually veggie fritters, soft, doughy like, tasteless, dripping oil.
Chicken Tikka: heavy on the salt, dry rubbery pieces of chicken.
Chicken tikka masala: Decent.
Daal (can't recall which one): Ok.
Mutton Vindaloo: Tasted like beef, no gaminess to it despite of the heavy hand on salt.
Gulab Jamun: not bad actually, honestly the highlight of the night. Served warm, light syrup, and rose water pearls!
Décor and ambience is inviting. Service on the other hand is a nightmare! Took us at least 20 minutes to get our beers, and when we got them, they weren't even that cold! For the food, it took an hour! An hoooour! And we were having dinner, with another four tables. Most tables waited, tried to order, got ignored and literally walked away! read more
