I love the selection and especially go there to but Susie Gluten free products. It's made fresh there and she has nice pastries that change often. I check her account on Facebook to see what she baked before going. I have a roll of her puff pastry in my freezer at all times, get bread and pastries on a regular basis and will also get pizza dough or also stuffed focaccia to go. Have never been disappointed. The store has an awesome selection of allergy -friendly items.

When I opened it, it was grey all around the edge. So, of course, I could not serve it. The expiry date is September 25, 2024. We had an appt at 9:00, this morning, we went there first. And went to Maxi about 9:30 to return it. The girl at the "courtesy" counter, was very rude and condescending. She said that it was hot .(It was actually cool). (and refused to refund us.) We asked to speak to a manager and she said, there was none. I asked for her name and she said, "I have no name." I went to talk to the young man at the self serve, (Junior? whom I see every time I shop there) She told him, Don't talk to them. He was stunned by that command. I have been shopping at this location for over 10 years and never received service like this. All the employees have always been polite and friendly. PS: In all these years, this is maybe the 2nd time I have returned something.

I often go to maxi because of the deals and do not have any issues with the quality of the products, though the treatment we received this afternoon was unacceptable. The responsible at the self checkout counter abruptly interrupted my girlfriend from scanning our items to verify our bags to make sure she scanned everything. Going through every bag and checking item by item. My girlfriend is black and I was watching this happen seeing what the employee was attempting to do. It quickly became clear that she was ensuring my girlfriend was not stealing anything. I asked the maxi employee what was she doing she ignored me. I kept asking her what is the issue raising my voice louder and louder, any louder I would have been screaming, yet she acted like she didn't hear a thing. I wasn't going to make a scene at the moment screaming into a pointless void, but I was going to make this issue public. It was clear she was profiling my girlfriend and was ensure she wasn't attempting to steal anything. In 22 years of knowing my girlfriend this is the only racist event I've reacted to because of how unacceptable the employees behaviour was.

I was particularly interested in the French skincare care brands such as Le Petit Marseillais and Dop which are normally very hard to find in Canada. They had a decent selection of soaps and bodywashes priced fairly compared to the original prices in Europe. If you are not familiar with the brands, you may still be impressed by the goods - we ended up purchasing some specialty sodas and unique potato chips along with other snacks. Excellent and friendly service from the staff. Wish the selection was bigger and some things more affordable, I noticed they had a section of discounted goods that were close to or past their best before date therefore I think this shop doesn't get enough customers or may not sell enough products.
