I was there with my boyfriend, and we shared a double bed in a 4-bed room for $25 each. A little pricey for a shared bed in a shared room, but still cheaper than any hotel around. Beautiful back garden area with some hammocks. But it was close to a busy street. Oh, and if anyone is wondering, a cab ride is about $35 to Mission Hill Winery from the hostel. There's a bus that connects to the winery about once an hour (at least on Saturdays), but takes well over an hour to get there. I'd stay here again if I were looking to go on a budget holiday.

I think he is indian. He and his workers doesn't know anything about customer service. It is also very expensive for a hostel. It's better to pay a little bit more & stay at a 5 star hotel. There's a reason for the negative reviews:…read more -rooms with utility panels, allows owner any excuse to enter your room to "check on things" -shoddy / lacking bathroom(s) no surface to put things down or hang clothes, owner will poke head in to see who's in there??? It's also in full view of kitchen since the door is always left open by owner -one gets the feeling it's like staying at your nosy aunts house. Other hostels I've stayed at are better than this over-priced Dive. Booking.com listing says free parking - it's only 2 spaces. Better to drive an extra 15 minutes and stay at the university conference center for better cost, safety, privacy, sanity (or check these yelp reviews at least).

That being said - I want to save others the absolute worst experience in customer service. The thousands of negative reviews are not a joke - don't be fooled by the good location. This hostel is absolute hell. This review is cross posted to Booking, TripAdvisor and Google Reviews. The owner of the hostel was convinced that we were not who we said we were and kept calling us by a different name and showing us a different reservation. From the minute we stepped in her office we were getting interrogated and accused of having fake IDs that we stole from our parents (?). We decided right then and there that there was absolutely no way this woman was getting our money - and we asked for a refund. She refused to refund us the money because the credit card information did not match. We told her multiple times that it didn't match because she was looking at the wrong reservation. She had our IDs but kept accusing us of being other people. It wasn't until we physically showed her and compared two completely different names that she realized she was wrong. Once that realization happened she got even more aggressive towards us, accusing us of stressing her out to the point that she didn't know what was happening. We said that is completely besides the point and we wanted our refund. In the process of all this trouble she actually refunded someone else's credit card and then blamed us for this. If she had taken the time to listen to what the situation was all of this could be avoided. It was absolutely bizarre behavior and in hindsight it is very clear that there are some deep-seeded issues with this woman. When we got into our vehicle we actually had to laugh at how completely insane the situation was. After we left the office we ran into a few people who were staying there and realized we dodged a major bullet. Apparently the owner changes the code multiple times a day, locking them out at all hours. The bedrooms are dirty and unkempt, they caught her rummaging through their belongings - it is just an overall awful environment. There are also cameras throughout the premises in places that they should not be. We felt very bad for the people we talked to outside the hostel. We realized that we were very lucky to have had our money refunded because it was clear that many people booked this place without reading reviews and were now stuck. The owner of the hostel mentioned multiple times during this altercation that she hates running this place and that her heart isn't in it anymore. To that I would honestly recommend that she sells the place. It is very clear that she is exceptionally unhappy and I feel so much pity towards her. She must lead an absolutely miserable life - she needs to seek professional help.

Stayed at the Samesun during a road trip to several ski resorts in the area and stayed here for one…read morenight before a great day skiing at Silver Star. The Samesun is about a 5 min walk from the main village and is pretty much ski in/ski out. The Hostel itself is a long multi-storied building with many dorm rooms. There was one lot of bathrooms for each sex on each floor but it was never busy enough for me to ever wait although its a fair walk from one end to the other. The whole basement of the Hostel is one big common area that has plenty of room for people to cook their free DIY Pancake Breakfast and just chill out. This Hostel does get a lot of staff from different businesses living here but it was still pretty quiet the night we were there. Overall, this is a pretty awesome, colourful option that is super budget friendly and one of the most convenient places to stay on the mountain.
