The hotel itself is lovely, with nice sized rooms, especially if you book the upstairs apartment. The grounds are tidy but not overly manicured. The real star here is the staff. They make you feel like family as soon as you arrive, we were so sad to leave at the end of our stay. The dail y breakfast included in your room rate is fantastic and generously portioned, they even brought a simpler breakfast for our baby the first couple of days until we realized she is a big fan of salsa Verde and was happy to share ours. There's a well stocked honest bar for after the bar tender leaves, but I would encourage you try the house cocktails. I'm still dreaming about Axel's palomas! The Bungalows Hotel is a very cute quaint hotel situated about 1/4 mile or 10-15 minute walk to the…read moredowntown area that has a bunch of souvenir stores, restaurants, and large hotels along the water. The hostess, Ally, greeted us in the office with a hug and a refreshing juice, "welcome home." There are parking spaces just outside the hotel. The hotel is on a circular street with an island in the center. The door to the hotel is locked at night. You need a code to enter. Otherwise, the door is unlocked during the day. We had an apartment on the 2nd level with a set of stairs leading up to the gated door and a balcony. The decor was lovely and stylish. The balcony had seats at the outdoor bar which was attached to the indoor kitchen with windows separating them. There were cups, utensils, plates, refrigerator, microwave, and sink in the kitchen. The bathroom sink and shower worked fine, however the toilet had a low flush and took forever to fill up. There was an AC unit on the wall in both bedrooms, but we couldn't get them to work. Not sure if we just didn't know how to turn it on or if they weren't working. One of the bedrooms was just off the balcony. The other bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom was separate off the balcony. If you have young children, I would not recommend this upper apartment because of the one bedroom being a bit separated from the other area. The common area is only the balcony (as opposed to a living room or family room). Also, since there's a balcony, you need to be careful of young children climbing the low wall. I would have preferred the apartment that had a main shared living room instead of the balcony so that we could have all sat together more easily. (The balcony did have the bar with seats and 2 chairs, but it was just awkward.) This apartment had a gate for the door. There isn't a wood or metal door. The gate requires a key to operate from both the inside and outside of the door. To lock the door at night time while you are inside, you need to use the key. While this provides security by eliminating easy entry for intruders, it also means if there's an emergency, you need to have that key ready in order to exit the apartment, so keep it in a place where everyone knows where it is. We put the "Please make up room" sign out for one of the days but no one came to refresh the room. We had to go ask that someone clean out the trash baskets. We had been there for a few days by then. In the mornings, you could hear the occasional motorcycles or cars going by, the rooster crowing, and a couple dogs barking and birds chirping. In the evenings, there was a restaurant somewhere near that played music that I enjoyed listening to. While the various noises didn't bother us one bit, I overheard two people talking about how the noise bothered them. I actually liked hearing the birds sing, the rooster crow, the dogs barking faintly in the distance as we were waking up. Breakfast is AWESOME!! I would stay here again just for the breakfast! They serve the same dish to everyone, but if you want something different, you can request it. Every day the main breakfast item changed. Presentation is lovely. Food is yummy. Fruit smoothies are refreshing. There's also tea and coffee. Nearby, little birds are eating from the beautiful bird feeder. Red Bougainvillea decorate the area. The breakfast here is something we looked forward to every day. There's a cafe nearby (though I didn't go) and a restaurant next door. The restaurant didn't seem to get much business so we took that as a sign that it wasn't too good, so we didn't go. The route to walk to downtown is steep and there wasn't always a sidewalk or the sidewalk was broken up. If you have trouble walking, this isn't the hotel for you unless you have vehicle transportation. There's a convenience store about a block or two away where we bought water, juice, fruit, yogurt, soap, toothpaste, etc. Don't drink the water at the hotel. You should buy bottled water to use for brushing teeth, rinsing your mouth, etc. A tip about driving: Drivers slow down for a stop sign, but most don't actually stop. On one YouTube video, the YouTuber said he once got a ticket for rolling through the stop sign too slowly. And yep, we learned to just roll through. And we learned to stop or yield only when there's another car at the intersection. The Bungalows' web site is thorough, so take a look at it to check out the accommodations and breakfast items and photos! Oh, the roof is something like a thatched roof, made out of dried leaves! Very interesting! Definitely adds to the decor when you look up at the roof when you're about to go to sleep!

The lady was genuinely nice!! They also served complimentary breakfast daily, although I stuck to mostly fruit and smoothies, there were also pancakes served. The rooms were good, small, and had a refrigerator and microwave in them. This place is a bit out of the way though, and there is a hill you have to walk up coming back here. They also give you a code to get in when they lock up the main entrance. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to Downtown Cabo San Lucas. I also really enjoyed the pool, super clear and refreshing!! This place is for those who don't want to stay right in the mix of everything, it's a hotel that has a very local feel to it!!!

The neighborhood was a little too quiet for being out after dark, but didn't prove a problem for us (but we do have a 90lb dog with us). It's a short walk down to the Melecon. We had another bad experience at a hotel here and they bailed us out with the secure parking lot they have around the corner and a recommendation for the doggie hotel down the block, since we needed to take a day trip to Tijuana/SD for visas and medication- long story there.

I would strongly recommend this property to anyone looking to just relax and not have the hustle-bustle and commercialism that so often comes with some tourist destinations. We stayed in one of the apartments with a King bed, television, fridge/stove, all the amenities a traveling family or couple would need to enjoy some home made meals if they want. The bed was comfy and the slight breeze coming through the patio doors at night was heavenly. We really, REALLY enjoyed Casa Juarez. if we ever go back to LaPaz I will be staying here again. They made us feel like family.

I also borrowed a book from the shelf of both English and Spanish titles available for loan. We ended up staying in two separate rooms; the first was a standard king room, which was perfectly adequate and comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small, but very clean and everything worked. We even had a bit of an ocean view from our balcony. While chatting with Marisol one day, she asked if we would like to switch to one of their suites for the final night of our stay, and we gladly took her up on the offer. WOW - it was like an apartment! Newly renovated and well appointed, it was a special space. We tend to spend our travel budget on things other than our hotel room, but this room would be worth a splurge. Marisol is a special little hotel, run and staffed by wonderful people. Our building was under renovation so we heard drilling sounds all day. It is theoretically an all inclusive resort but since it is shared with condo owners, everything needs to be rung up (even a cup of hot water!) - so any food item takes a long time to process - from waiting for service to waiting for manual bill write up. It was excruciatingly slow to the point I didn't bother to order food and it was easier to go hungry. The activities manager was pretty awesome - he created a bunch of different activities like cocktail sampling, candle making, massage lessons - he was definitely the highlight of this resort. We didn't use the pool as it was over run by children from the condos. We visited the main restaurant twice; the table side guacamole was amazing. We just simply had to accept any meal would be a 2.5hr commitment as the staff seemed overwhelmed by volume. We wouldn't stay again as it doesn't fit our needs. They should market accordingly so people have realistic expectations as the value isn't bad but I really didn't want to fight for space nor wait so long.

No warm water in the bathroom 3. coffee maker still had an old coffee bag; when asked to have missing coffee bags, they brought us bags but promised sugar never arrived 4. mold in the shower, just disgusting. This presents a danger for the person in the shower. see photos 5. Safe did not work, so an employee came to address the problem; 2 hours later, the safe did not work again; luckily, I tested the safe before using it. 6. toilet seat lid was dirty, with traces of human excrements on the back of the lid. We were in Hyatt Place San Jose Del Cabo, also problems, but enough is enough. I will never advise you to go to this hotel.
