My journey in the medical field has been a challenging yet ultimately rewarding one. Early in my…read morecareer, I experienced the disheartening realities of understaffing, profit-driven priorities overshadowing patient care, and the constant struggle to balance work demands with personal life. The pressure to compromise my well-being, whether through accepting low pay to accommodate my child's schedule or sacrificing family time, led to significant burnout and moments of profound self-doubt. There were days I questioned if I'd made the right career choice. However, my passion for helping others persevered. A year ago, I joined Carter's Confident Care, and my perspective shifted dramatically. This role has revitalized my love for the medical profession. Working primarily with veteran clients has been incredibly fulfilling. I cherish the opportunity to connect with them on a personal level, providing attentive and unrushed care. It's more than just medical attention; it's about genuine human connection. I find myself listening deeply to their stories, offering comfort and companionship, and sharing moments of laughter and shared experiences. Belinda's exceptional leadership and support have been instrumental in creating such a positive work environment. Her commitment to her employees is truly invaluable, and I am immensely grateful for the respect and appreciation she consistently shows. This is a place where I feel valued not only for my skills but for who I am as a person. The positive feedback from our clients is equally rewarding. Knowing that we're providing a service they truly need and appreciate reinforces my belief in the importance of our work. It's a privilege to contribute to their well-being and make a tangible difference in their lives. The satisfaction I derive from this work far surpasses the challenges I've faced in the past, making it a true calling rather than just a job.

My mom was mostly self care prior, so I wasn't set up for any of this. Wendy sent Heather and it was such a relief to have her come sit with mom, clean her up, and get her situated while I was away. My mom loves Heather, so I will continue using her regardless of what the outcome is, even if it's just for some company. During a time of stress and embarrassment for my mom, Wendy and Heather made it possible for me to continue working, and most importantly, made my mom comfortable in the situation.
