Kendall was as close to perfect as a photographer as I could imagine. She never once felt "in the way," nor did I ever get the feeling I was being watched. She did a wonderful job. After looking through some Wedding Wire reviews and asking a few friends, we decided to put Chris in our top three to contact. We liked his candid style and his pricing was in line with many of the other people we looked at. After a quick, but friendly & effective, phone call, we decided Chris and his wife, Ali, were the right choice. As mentioned in another review, they did a great job with the timeline and getting the shots we really wanted. There were a few really great shots where they really captured the emotion and expression of our guests & our couple portraits were beautiful. The photos were well edited--natural looking with just the right touch of artistic styling in the color and composition. I really appreciated how easy it was to get in touch with Chris before the day. Chris and Ali were so calm it made the posed shots feel easy. They were also unintrusive during the whole affair, but made sure to check in just enough so they were sure we got what we wanted. One thing I may have asked for, but did not, was a few more detail photos. They captured some photos of the flowers, decor, shoes...but we missed the classic ring photo.

I knew his photography would fit the general vibe of our engagement shoot and wedding, and we ended up hiring him pretty early on in our wedding planning process. Through all of the ups and downs and changes of planning a wedding in one of the most problematic years possible Chris was responsive, understanding, and flexible anytime my (now) husband and I had literally anything come up! He even was fine with us rescheduling our engagement shoot. (We just weren't feeling up for it after finding out that our sentimental engagement shoot location would not be reopening... ever--boo hoo!) Instead, he and his second photographer, Alli--who also happens to be his wife, met up with us for a cocktail at a local bar to get to know us and our love story. On the day of Chris and his team arrived on-site early and got right into exploring all of the nooks and crannies of the historic mansion and grounds that would set the scene for our wedding. Throughout the day Chris was already prepared with locations, props, and poses for each set of photos--getting ready, bridesmaids, newlyweds, group shots. He put so much thought and concern to create the perfect scene to capture each chapter of our wedding day. All of our "must have" and "special" shots that we had mentioned in the pre-wedding questionnaire were captured throughout the day also. Chris and his team worked well to capture everything and communicated flawlessly while shooting. The final gallery that Chris edited and compiled perfectly retells the story of our wedding day in a way that I can't even put into words. I am forever grateful to have a photographic story that beautifully taps into the emotion and energy of the day so that I can share these memories with all of my friends and family who were unable to attend the wedding. Both Chris and Alli are fantastic photographers. Chris is a true visual artist as well as a dedicated professional who was amazing to work with for one of the most special days in my life.

Martin had photographed a friends wedding and after seeing the pictures he took for them, I knew I wanted him to photograph my big day. My husband and I got married in South Lake Tahoe at Valhalla. Martin and his co-photographer Kacie arrived before the wedding party and found some great places to take photos. Kacie stayed with me and my bridesmaids to capture us getting ready while Martin did the same thing with my husband and his groomsmen. Our favorite pictures were the ones taken out on the lawn. They came out beautifully. Martin and Kacie suggested some great ideas for poses and the images the captured were super high quality and look great when blown up and framed. They were also able to capture a fantastic picture of all my bridesmaids on the pier. It's absolutely great, all my bridesmaids bought a copy. Not only were Martin and Kacie great photographers, but they were both very laid back and got along great with everyone at our wedding. Kacie even helped me with my veil since no one knew what to do. A few weeks before the big day, she scheduled a call to walk through everything--timeline, photo style, all the details--which gave us such peace of mind. She got all the detail photos and then captured all of the bridal party getting ready shots. She helped keep me calm in what was obviously a stressful day. The pre-ceremony shots were beautiful, and her ceremony photos were phenomenal--she perfectly captured the stunning beauty of Lake Como. The boat photos we took on the lake afterward were equally gorgeous. She was putting in max effort to get all the photos she could! The videographer was using a drone and she ducked out of the way on the boat so he could get his shots. What really stood out was how effortless and fun Jessica made everything. His personality matched well with ours, and the day flowed very smoothly. There were a lot of laughs, at the very beginning during the "getting ready" shots. But as the night progressed I honestly didn't even notice he was there (sorry Steve!). Needless to say, he took some pretty damn amazing photos! We knew his style was different then most photographers. His photos tell a story from beginning to end, more candid and less posed. Yes we did have a quite a few posed photos (have to please the folks), but the candid shots were truly amazing. I look forward to working with him again in the future!

From first coming across Steve's work on his website, to receiving our images this week, we…read morecouldn't be more pleased with our choice of wedding photographer. His style of "wedding journalism" captures the realness and raw emotions associated with the day. I went through our photos and was able to relive each and every moment that Steve expertly captured. Most of my friends that have gotten married say that it is so hard to remember your wedding day, especially the small, seemingly insignificant moments that are overshadowed by vows and toasts and dances. What I appreciate about Steve the most was his ability to capture those sweet moments. Hugs from closest friend from college, my mother holding hands with my best friend during our first dance, the look on my dad's face after he walked me down the aisle. These moments are pure gold and I'm so grateful to have them memorialized. In addition to being a great photographer, Steve is just a great guy. I knew from our first conversation that we were going to work well together. I didn't pretend to know what I wanted or how this was supposed to go. He guided me through it and gave me his recommendations on things (the best hours for him to be there, whether or not we should do certain posed photos). He was just the right amount of communicative throughout. During the wedding, I honestly have no idea how he shot so many awesome photos because I didn't notice that a photographer was there. When I chatted with him during the wedding, he felt more like a guest. Our friends and family also commented on how great he is. If you're looking for super polished, riding a unicorn into the sunset kinds of photos, Steve probably isn't for you (although I wouldn't doubt that he has even more skills I don't know about). If you want an honest capture of your big day and photos that tell the story of your wedding, don't look any further. I couldn't imagine being happier with the end result.
