TDLR not an honest shop. Will blatantly lie to you about what is going on with your vehicle. My sister bought 2 vehicles from there. Her kia was overheating, so she took it in. Jen told her it would get taken care of. She told my sister that her master mechanic looked at it, but it would have to be taken to Kia. Then she told my sister that they tried to drive an overheating car to St. Louis needs to be towed. My sister called me in to help, and it turned out it never left the dealership and was just the belt tensioner. It was never driven to Kia. The master mechanic never looked at it it was all just blatant lies. They gave her a $300 discount to compensate for the LIES. Then they took their Ford in for a new engine. Got it back and it had an oil leak, took it back in and got that fixed, shortly after the crank case breather on the new engine needs replaced and they are saying it is not covered and it's going to be $1k. Further, when I had my shop, they would try to steal my customers if we had to use them to reflash a TCM. Honestly, I don't know how anyone can run a shop, let alone a dealership this way, and still be in business. Or how Jen still has a job. And no, this honest review will not be taken down. From the Beginning. Bought the truck from Sam Scism and 6 Months later the motor goes out, new motor then same day I get the truck back the Radiator goes out with a crack in the bottom "surly not caused by motor being replaced". Then recently went in over engine light and the support team says they can't diagnose the problem tell I buy a new ECM and possibly need a GPR $2k quote, I pick the truck up and charged $150 for diagnosing the truck that can't be Diagnosed tell the PCM is replaced. On top of that they left parts in the back seat off my truck. Way to go. read more

I went to see my trade in value on 6/26. They had a 2020 Ford ecosport that was awd which I wanted and they kept telling me about its great mileage. The selling point for me was the repeated 41 mpg boasting they made to me. As someone who uses their car for work this is very important to me. Two days later I realized it actually only gets 23mpg which is about half what they kept telling me. I tried to call Fri morning, I felt like the receptionist laughed at me when I explained and then transfered me to a voice-mail, where I left a message with my name and number and my issues. No one ever called me back. I feel lied to, rushed and ripped off, it needs new brakes and the tires don't have much tread. The divider between the back seat and truck is also just missing. They valued my trade in at $1000 but have it listed for $10k now. Now that I have to pay twice as much in gas and buy brakes and tires I feel like they need to make it up to me for lying about the gas mileage. I am still having to deal with this, excuse me, piece of shit dealership for the faulty car I purchased a few months ago. This time, the door handle just fell off in my hand? Literally, came right off. No force or anything. Let's not fail to mention the screen on my radio likes to scramble a million jumbled lettered every so often. This I truly enjoy of course. Not. Also, note that I took the initial issue to a Chevy garage (not theirs since I do not trust them) and got my ignition switch fixed. This turned out to be many other issues of course. Scism sold me a car the not only had a faulty ignition switch, door handle, radio but also the cylinder in the steering wheel to release my key. This was an extra $300 to fix. I also was forced to purchase a new key, which of course was the only one I was given from Scism. They are the worst. read more

I previously had $1,300 worth of work done at James Hodge Ford in Idabel, Oklahoma, on March 24. They advised an additional $900 in repairs for a steering issue. Because they did not have the parts in stock, I was unable to have the additional repairs completed. My job requires I travel every day to a new town. The first location where I would be located for two days was Farmington, Missouri. On March 25, I scheduled an appointment with Sam Scism Ford for Thursday, April 9 and requested the parts be ordered. It was essential I have my truck returned Friday night as I would be leaving town. They said they would not order the parts but would diagnose the problem themselves and overnight the necessary components if necessary. The day before my appointment I spoke with Scism service again to confirm my appointment and my situation. I also requested a price on four new tires. I was assured there would not be a problem having the truck fixed in the time allotted. I dropped my truck off on Thursday, April 9 and again advised of my situation - I was only in town until Friday night. I stated exactly what James Hodge Ford advised replacement and asked that if the repair cost came in under $1,000 to have it fixed without any delays in contacting me. On Friday, April 10, I contacted service for a status update on my vehicle. It had not yet been looked at but would be pulled in "after lunch." I then contacted Scism Parts myself to check if they had the components in stock. They did not. Thus, there is no way my vehicle could be repaired and completed before I left town. I went to Service to pick up my truck at 12:30. There were no managers available with whom to speak. My vehicle had not been moved from where I dropped it off. For three weeks my girlfriend drove this vehicle with a very shaky steering wheel pulling a trailer because I was counting on Scism Ford to repair it. I have now had to call numerous other dealerships to make arrangements for repairs with my strenuous travel schedule. Dave Sinclair Ford has ordered the parts and guaranteed repair on Monday. I am very disappointed with the lack of service and customer service at Sam Scism Ford. I will never return there with my business, nor will my employer with its fleet of 30+ Ford pickups. read more

You know what I appreciate? A business who treats customers with courtesy, respect and a sense of fairness. One month ago we, along with hundreds of other trusting local people, showed up at a Farmington, MO new car dealership who had sent us a flyer advertising that they were giving away a car, along with other great prizes. The flyer showed a newer model sedan so I thought, "why not, what have we got to lose". Apparently quite a bit in this case. Surprisingly enough, our name was drawn as the winner of the car. How wonderful...we thought. While it seemed we had hit the jackpot, all we received was a huge headache. The vehicle they gave to us looked nothing like the picture in the flyer. No, instead it was a run-down, filthy dirty 14 year old SUV that they had hidden over on the side on the building. The car fax that shows the vehicle history was very lengthy with repairs so the dealer knew it they were passing off a lemon. We were lucky to get it home without wrecking as the brakes are shot. Then we couldn't get it in gear. We had an independent mechanic look at it and it will be very expensive to fix, so our "free gift" is really just a hunk of scape metal that has become nothing but a stress in our lives. Now, you would think that the dealer would care about their reputation and take pride in the way they treat their customers. Not so for this dealer who only cares about getting people in the door, and will pawn off worthless cars, while trying to act like they are being so generous. So buyers...beware. What seems like a good deal comes back to bite you and the dealer refuses to do anything to correct the situation because he just doesn't care. He has no empathy for our plight and offers no help at all. It's our problem now, not his. So if you get an ad tempting you to come in for a bevy of free prizes, I would think twice about showing up - your name might be drawn, but you might come away with a costly headache instead of a prize. Just be aware folks....all is not what it seems. read more

Bought a 2014 Ford Focus from one of their foreclosure/action sales a couple years ago. After dealing with the famous faulty ford power shift transmission for too long we went to trade in the piece of trash. Found out this car had been involved in a wreck before we got it, it was not disclosed to us when it was purchased. Other dealership only wanted to give us $500 for trade in because of a bad car fax. I have a recall and on the recall it states a rental car will be provided if needed. As I work the same hours as they service department is open, I needed a rental. ***Sam Scism Ford Service Customers Beware*** Leaving your car in their care carries extraordinary risk. Protect yourself! Ask for a walk-around and document, take photos of your car, or simply go somewhere else. My vehicle had body damage after leaving it in their care for over 4 days including during the ice storm. Long story short, the Scism Family assumed no responsibility, said they inquired with their staff, insisted the damage was done prior to arrival, and suggested their paying customer was clueless and/or dishonest. I provided clear damage photos directly to them, and communicated fairly. The kicker was they refused to reciprocate the basic insurance info to me despite repeated respectful requests. We all understand not accepting responsibility with accidents when they occur, but then you "man up", nephew David Scism, and share insurance info so the insurance company experts can try to sort it out. Seriously doubt this simple gesture would have cost you any money. Reportedly that's your thing. Reputation is everything in your line of work. FAIL! read more
