I had another filter specialist come out test our system and install a new system. American Water only tested our water for Iron. The new filter specialist that conducted the test said the iron was not the major issue, but manganese was the issue which explains why the system they sold me didn't work as advertised. American Water also charges by the mile for service calls which they don't tell you when you buy the filter system. None of the techs ever checked the medium in the tank on their visits. System could not be repaired or made to work because lines between house and tank were put in fill dirt without proper foundation and tank placed far from the house. An honest and reliable company came in and installed a great system right where North Georgia Environmental (NGE) was supposed to in the first place. Now I'm paying out over 10k to replace the ugly retaining wall that NGE needlessly made in the front yard. It will be another couple of thousand to crush and fill the outdated plastic two septic tank system that they convinced us that we needed. (Didn't). To top it off, when NGE wanted cash immediately for the extra 8K for the elaborate, unnecessary, dysfunctional and overpriced system, we only had the 10K that they quoted for the system. So they put a lien on our house. Eventually we were able to pay the extra 8K. So if you're looking for financial ruin, sewage in your home and replacing bad work, North Georgia Environmental is the right call! Was the switch from a regular cement tank to the convoluted dysfunctional system done deliberately by NGE to get rid of old plastic tanks in their stock, or did they really not know what they were doing? I have an opinion and so does the company that replaced NGE's work.

I have owned a house in Hiawasse for the last 35 years and rented here every now and then. It is…read moreoften very difficult since they are not open on weekends and close early on Friday. Today was the last straw... I rented a trencher for half a day just past noon and new it would be close for 430, and told them so. I called on my way at 425 and was told I would have to bring it back Monday as she had already closed the gates. When I got there at 435 Donna was there and did nothing but frown at me... I unloaded the trailer, moved the trencher to the door while she walked over and closed the gate with my truck inside. She then told me I owed them some courtesy. The courtesy was that I paid $111.00 for a 3 hour rental with attitude and unloaded it myself!! This will be my last time as they (Donna) simply have no understanding of customer service. They make you feel as if you were doing them a favor to rent from them. Next time I will drive down to the tool rental at home depot in Blairville. The trencher is $30 cheaper, brand new and the lights on the trailer actually work. They also stay open later and on weekends. If you want a business that is 9-5 M-F with no hassles, then get out of tool rental!
