We stayed at the marina/boatyard living on the boat for that time. It was easily the best value place to leave a boat for a long period of time.
Cork is a fabulously nice place, the people we met were kind and helpful, and the pubs in Ireland are always a pleasure to us visitors.
Pluses:
1. Good mechanics on hand.
2. Close walk to town, and also close to Royal Cork Yacht Club
3. All services like diesel, water, showers etc.
4. Mechanic fixed our outboard 2-stroke motor which was being very mischievous and unreliable, she lasted 2 years longer.
Minuses:
1. A bit scruffy. As an example there were two boats half sunken on the ramp. They may or may not have been part of Salvo, but they left that impression.
2. Showers were functional, but by European standard rough around the edges, but better than most of what we found in Scotland. read more
