Each show is choreographed by someone employed by XIV. This is unique and you won't see it anywhere else (anyone old enough to remember the mass produced cheer routines from Bring it On?) This is truly a welcoming space, everyone can come here and be themselves. The bodies are lithe, svelte, glistening, beautiful. The acrobatics can't be matched. I am always astounded at the beauty of the erotic ballet numbers. I think those are my favorite part. The deep, soulful vocals of the diva singers can't be forgotten either. I think I've said before, I've done the couples couches and the small chairs along the stage. The small chairs are a better value and really a better view for most things, unless something is from the ceiling behind you. You can also upgrade with things like champagne and cocktails. But overall, if you get one of the small stage seats, a very affordable night out. And you can kill some time across the street at JukeBar (reviewed separately).

I appreciate how promptly they responded to all of my inquiries. It meant a lot to me that they would take the time to understand my vision for the event. I am particularly grateful to Alvaro, who was incredibly accommodating throughout the event. From the very first phone call his kindness and professionalism really stood out. As the time for the party was approaching I became anxious when most of the guest were running late due to the NYC Marathon happening the same day. I was worried that the late arrivals would throw off the vibe of the party. When I was anxious to inform the band of the tardiness they met my anxiety with gentle understanding and were so flexible, adjusting their schedule to make sure everyone had a chance to enjoy their performance. Their willingness to adapt made such a difference, turning what could have been a stressful situation into a smooth and enjoyable experience. They showed up at the most perfect time, dressed impeccably, bringing incredible energy that transformed the atmosphere. As soon as they started playing, I was genuinely moved, I felt so proud of my roots. The band consists of talented musicians who were not only skilled at their instruments but also bring an incredible stage presence. They interacted with the crowd beautifully. Taking song requests and even translated some of their lyrics into English so everyone could feel included. They were perfect. My friends are still raving about their performances, many said it was the best entertainment they'd seen at a party. A week later and I am still getting messages about how much fun everyone had and how great the band was. They made my birthday unforgettable, and I can't wait to book them for future celebrations. Thank you Mariachi NYC

The venue was a bit difficult to find as per my own personal experience. Once I arrived, I was given a copy of the book as per my ticket stated I was going to receive a book. I was directed to the direction of my seat and then I took the elevator to my get there quicker as I was running a bit late. It was my first time at this opera house and I enjoyed the sound, the seats were comfortable. One thing I gotta mention is that there aren't railings on the seats so you have to watch your step carefully going up and down the seats. Probably not the most ideal situation for an elderly person not having a railing to hold yourself against to. Overall, great opera house to come and catch an interesting event. 10/10 opera house rec.

Came here for an Andre 3000 event. FIRST AND LAST TIME…read more Boy was I wrong thinking this would be anything like broadway. I would've thought that an opera house would have that 'luxurious' feel to it but it was mid. The operation of it needs more maturing. Seating was too tight and clumpy. The seats were not designed efficient to where you could amply see behind larger people sitting in front of you. I had to lean and sit towards the side of my seat the whole time to grasp any type of view. My back and side were hurting for days as a result. The service from the workers here were not great at all. Trash. They couldn't do their job to seat people efficiently...they were messing up on pointing to/ directing people to the correct aisle. The workers would pick and choose who to let record the performance although there was no photography allowed of any kind. What really had me disappointed was the hour and a half wait to start the show!! It was absolutely unbecoming. The show was expected to start at 7pm. The first act, which to me was very unexpected, didn't start until around 8:15pm, over an hour after show time. There was an intermission that was more than 20 mins. The main act didn't start until 9:15 pm and lasted until 11 pm. There was no way I was going to make any type of dinner reservation that night. UNACCEPTABLE. Idk what was up but tickets were way too pricey to receive that poor quality in service. Not to mention there were no programs or pamphlets available with an itinerary of any kind nor further information about the show or acts. Just weird. Felt like a rinky dink off-broadway theatre for indie music bands. People were strolling in late and also directly during the act(s). It was very distracting to have people going back and forth between the aisles during the performance. It was a performance where you would want all of your undivided attention to be able to tap into your subconscious mind and I felt that people were inconsiderate of themselves and others during a time to be mindful. Now don't get me wrong. Andre 3000 and his hand picked crew was AMAZING and the only thing saving this review. The flutes, drums, gongs, etc was like a large live sound healing experience. The sound quality of the acoustics and speakers were very poor. Absolutely would see him again but NEVER in this facility.

I had the great pleasure to see a performance by the internationally-known American Ballet Theatre (ABT) as they opened their 2024 summer season at The Metropolitan Opera House. In years past, ABT came through Los Angeles but now went directly to Costa Mesa's Segerstrom Center For The Arts. With a storied history dating back to 1939, ABT has collaborated with the world's foremost choreographers, integrating tradition with modernity. The Company has showcased masterpieces created for their dancers by luminaries like George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Anthony Tudor, Agnes de Mille, Kenneth MacMillan, and Twyla Tharp, alongside pioneering works by contemporary visionaries such as Alexei Ratmansky, Christopher Wheeldon, and Wayne McGregor. In 2006, an act of Congress recognized them as America's National Ballet Company. Though located in New York City, ABT annually toured the United States - performing for 300,000 people annually - and is the only major cultural institution to do so. The Company has made more than 30 international tours to 45 countries. Now that you've had a brief history lesson, how was the evening's experience!? PURCHASE Tickets/Seats ($205.00 x2): For reference, ticket prices ranged from $50.00 - $250.00. Located in the Parterre Rear Level Section 21 Seats 7 & 8, these were in the 2nd level above the orchestra, the 2nd of three rows within the section, provided excellent sight lines that were just off stage right, and comfortable individual seats. Honestly, there weren't any bad areas in the house. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=M9NZEudqTDXq7bIoKrQSiQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Ticket Service Fee ($2.50 x2): This was unimaginably low and greatly appreciated! THE PERFORMANCE This was the opening night of both American Ballet Theatre's (ABT) 2024 Summer Season and the performance of "Onegin", a three-acts two intermissions ballet with an estimated run time of 2 hour 20 minutes. The story's about "a young country girl, Tatiana, who is introduced to a worldly aristocrat by her sister's fiancé. Onegin instantly becomes Tatiana's heart's desire, though, in his eyes, she remains naive and uninteresting. Thus begins the tale that leads to a tragic duel, a royal marriage, and personal redemption. Based on the verse-novel Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin, John Cranko's majestic and astounding ballet allows the strength and agency of our romantic heroine to shine through." This evening's performance featured Principal dancers Christine Shevchenko (Tatiana) and Cory Stearns (Onegin), and conductor Charles Barker. Everything was beautiful and captivating. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=mFz8jR9GUutvhsLGHpCYcQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw SERVICE None to speak of as it pertained directly to ABT. As for The Met, the online ticket purchase was seamless, the check-in line inside the venue went swiftly, there was no line when we bought our champagne, and security was chill. One cool thing to point out was a unique system of real-time translation called "Met Titles", which appeared on individual scenes mounted on the back of each row of seats for those members of the audience who wish to utilize them, but with minimum distraction for those those who do not; titles are provided to all performances in English, Spanish, and German, and are also provided in Italian or Italian-language operas. Everything was easy-peasy! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): We took a Lyft there ($49.00) and a bus back ($2.50 x2). Otherwise, located underneath Lincoln Center was the public 24-hours self-parking Lincoln Center "park and lock" Plaza Parking Garage, with varied rates ($28.00 - $63.00). Buses and subways were also cheaper and efficient options. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE In this case, The Met's capacity was 3,800 patrons with chandeliers throughout. There were several bar locations to get your drink on with short lines, special areas for members only and such, and the requisite souvenir shop. Plenty of natural lighting shone through the large tall glass windows and doors into the lobby, while the aforementioned eclectic ceiling chandeliers lit up the rest. I didn't notice any monitors nor any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=BJ1FyjTluTgTWgcn9UElJA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE In general, it was a business affair with a suit, tie, and dress shoes. However, I jealously observed many men casually dressed in my favorable t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops - dammit! OVERALL I loved that I was able to see American Ballet Theatre perform in their own backyard - a quasi travel bucket list item. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $415.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tips). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 5.0 STARS

The band had embarked on their North American tour from their native South Korea. Since I had never seen the band before as well, the adventure to a new space for me made the whole thing more interesting to me. Now I travel via the MTA, and from Bay Ridge this event space is a bit of a hike. It's the R train to the N to the 7 to a fairly decent walk. Those who are driving or taking an Uber might have a little better trek experience than I did but that being said once I made it past the famed Unisphere and over to New York State Pavilion, it was time to go into the Queens Theatre. When I arrived there were already about 100 attendees lined up because the band was doing all sorts of VIP things with them. A cool part of the agenda for sure. Inside the theatre is a spacious lobby area with seating all around near the windows. There are concessions there but I only saw drinks being sold when I looked. There was a small merchandise table for the band set up and I imagine that when other shows happen here this will be their space as well. Right off the bat I connected to a complimentary WiFi signal which was good but seemed to go on and off during the course of the performance. Once I was in the actual performance space I was quite impressed. The stage is sizable which was great because this was a five member band with a full backline and the seats were oh so comfortable. Yes this was a Rock Show and people would likely be standing throughout the performance but when it was time to sit you could do so in comfort. I positioned myself in the eighth or so row on the aisle since I needed to shoot photographs and I was happy to report that there were no bad sightlines in the theater. The sound was also clear and impressive which was partially a testimony to the bands team on the tour. While I didn't get to explore the venue all that much outside of the show, I did see one of the spacious side rooms which I guess they do talks in or smaller events. The band has set up their meet and greets there so it was in and out in terms of time to examine. There was a complimentary WiFi that I did find to be spotty at times but I feel this was based on the amount of people choosing to live stream the show. There were obviously restrooms and while I can only speak for the men's facility it was quite clean which is always a pleasant find. Overall this was a great experience for me but I cannot fathom when and if I might make a return based on the logistics and scarcity of what most interests me happening here. I will be keeping tabs on their calendar for good measure just in case and maybe some other localized Hard Rock bands can look into it or even local promoters who wish to do something that is no too crazy.

We had a hard time finding parking as the show was about to start and the park is always busy. There were two small lots nearby that were full. Upon entering check in was easy. It was very informative and entertaining. I enjoyed the different styles of dances performed, the colorful outfits, the creative scenery (which was simple but effective). I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to visiting again.
