We were in the area visiting friends for the Thanksgiving holiday, and popped in for dinner on Black Friday. It seems like it recently opened, and they had it all together! I had the Sopa De Pollo, and it was fantastic! The bowl is HUGE, and was $10.99. I would have liked a smaller option, but it was a cold night so it hit the spot. Tortilla chips were accompanied by bean dip. It got very crowded shortly after we arrived but it seemed like they were able to keep up! Check it out :)

    Rolled quesadillas

New place on Saluda's Main St. Ok ambience, helpful staff and really good food. We got off to a good start with tortilla chips and really tasty bean dip and salsa which were both made on-site. My wife was happy to find they have hard shell tacos. I had the recommended rolled quesadillas and was not disappointed. Our food was bright and fresh and nicely plated and the rice was soft and flavorful. I eat at local Mexican restaurants several times each week and this is one of the best! (Far better than the two new ones in Hendersonville with the fancy decor).

Friendly staff greeted us as we walked in. The waiter promptly arrived and brought chips and the house salsa to our table, and most of them were broken and looks like they took from the bottom of the barrel. The salsa bar was a nice addition so you could have various flavors. We ordered a regular and watermelon margaritas and they were not good, no taste of tequila at all. I was surprised at this since other reviews said great drinks. So far two strikes against them. I was starting to regret coming here since there are many good Mexican places in town, but things changed quickly. Our second basket of chips was much better, and once we received our food orders I was very pleased. I ordered Chili Rellenos and they were fantastic, much better than I've had in many other places. My wife ordered the 4 enchiladas platter and it was beautiful, plenty of chicken and fillings, with tasty sauces on each type. It was so big the rice and beans had to come on a separate plate. I normally prefer refried beans over the rice for side dishes, but that rice was very flavorful which was surprising to me since most are bland. My son had the seafood burrito and he said it was very good with a lot of seafood. It filled him up, which is an accomplishment in itself. All the portions were large and prices were very reasonable. Our waiter provided great service. He didn't speak English very well but no points were taken off for that. He knew enough to do his job. Their health scores were also very high, which was why we chose this place over others in the area we normally chose in the past. I would rank this place up there against any of the other local Mexican restaurants and hope they do well. At the time of our visit, the Ingles in Cashiers had coupons on the back of the receipt, so you can save a few bucks on the already very reasonable prices there.

This is a spacious restaurant but unfortunately there were very few customers today so we were able to grab a seat at the small bar in the back of the restaurant straight away from the entrance they also have a large patio for outdoor seating. The staff here was very friendly and eager to grant our every wish, the draft beers are large and cold and lucky for me they serve Dos Equis Amber on draft which is one of my favorites to start before switching over to a top shelf Margarita (Don Julio) which are the same price as the house margaritas $16.50. The staff set us up with warm tortillas and salsa and introduced us to the "salsa bar" which had a number of different salsas and with different levels of heat so pick your poison and chase it with the drink of your choice. The restaurant appeared clean but although they weren't busy there were still bus bins filled with dirty dishes sitting around which I thought was odd. All in all we had a great experiences the pours were generous but it's not cheap. We decided not to eat here and our tap was still well over one hundred dollars without gratitude for the four of us - it's definitely a place I'd returned to for the margaritas...
