Happily, Chevin Books in Otley more than makes up for this, with a stock of over 20,000 antique, second hand and rare titles covering most subjects. Prices are reasonable too, and the owner seems to know pretty much everything about everything - something which I'm sure is a prerequisite for second hand bookshop owners. Plus, it's an excuse to have a day out in Otley, rather than yet another traipse into the centre of Leeds.

They do some really nice books which are for the young and old and a selection just for kids. They also sell some really nice gifts for christenings, birthdays or christmas. They have some lovely books on the meaning of christmas and god and that which are lovely. They also do a good selection of afterlife books. The store is lovely and well stocked and set out. The staff are absolutely lovely and very very friendly. The prices are a bit dearer than your average bookstore but that is because they are an independant store.

Every time that I have been to this shop the staff and visitors have been very polite. They always welcome you into the shop and provide help where needed. They also sell books for older children and adults and they also sell gifts all with a christian message and theme. I would definalty recomened to any one looking for a christian gift.

The assistant is usually an elderly lady who is very polite and helpful and treats you like her best customer. The books range from colouring books for little ones to encyclopedias to lots of fiction and horror books. There is a vast choice and the prices arent too dear either. They also sell second hand books at a cheap price too. You can also take back any book you have bought from the shop and get money off your next book which is a good idea too and saves you lots of money. Well worth a visit.

Nothing could be more worth the spend than a really great book to get your grey cells going, be it non-fiction, biography or fiction, any good book can last a lifetime and be re-read more than enough times to make it worth buying in the first place! Just Books is great for just that, being as they sell exactly what they say, just books. There are hundreds to choose from at really good prices, although similar to a charity shop, you need to dig for your treasure. It's by no means a Waterstones or an Ottakers in here, so I wouldn't go looking for anything too specialist, but certainly for an impulse treat it's a great start. They do plenty of deals too so you won't be short on reading material after a little visit here! Expand your minds with some lovely reading - go and have a browse!

A small section for calendars so not just for books, the shop has a variable opening time on Sundays depending on weather or not the market is on and weirdly for an Otley shop it's actually open on Sunday.

This post office is in a really convenient location. It's also kind of half a newsagents as well…read morewhich is useful. The only problem is often there's only one member of staff to do both the newsagent counter and the post office counter. So if it's busy you may have to wait.
