They do serve meatball subs on Tuesday night but we had the buttermilk fried chicken served over a pile of fava bean succotash. The chicken was battered and fried to perfection and drizzled with just the right amount of honey. The succotash was wonderful. Fava beans made it unique. We had the Little Pond salad with the candies pecans and dried plums, outstanding. Meals are served at communal tables which was fun because we met some new people and enjoyed a good conversation. Highly recommend trying their Meatball Tuesday!

I called Tony about a month ago and asked him to cater our annual meeting for the nonprofit I work for. I received his name based on a recommendation from Christi at Pine Valley Market. (Christi is my go to caterer but was booked). I spoke to him and told him that we were looking for a picnic type dinner and he asked me to send an email since he was in the kitchen and not taking notes. I did so and waited to hear back. And waited. I called him today to see if he had received my email and got the response of "yeah, but I don't really check emails". Okay, but you asked me to email you. He then asked what my budget was and when i told him it was approximately $15 per person he balked and said that he doesn't offer lunches for under $17. Then he went on and on about how much party supplies cost, etc. etc. Now, I'm sorry, but this is not the first event I've put on. I know how much a tent is going to cost. I know how much party supplies are. But to have me assume that we were booked and then to learn that you're just not interested is a shoddy way of doing business. I understand if you can't meet my budget, but tell me so; don't lead me on. I'm not scrambling to find a caterer in just over a month's time. Buyer beware is my warning. And just for the record, Pine Valley Market always meets my budget and the food is exceptional.

We booked a five-course prix fixe tasting menu to be prepared in our beach rental for what was a very special evening--my daughter's surprise proposal, with our entire family together from different parts of the country. This was a once-a-year family gathering and a once-in-a-lifetime event. The experience leading up to the event was extremely disappointing. Earlier in the week, I received a reminder to pay the remaining balance, which I did immediately, so I had every reason to believe we were confirmed. On Tuesday, several days before the dinner planned for Sunday, I emailed to confirm our reservation, ask for an arrival time, and again let him know that this dinner was centered around a surprise proposal. I received no response. I reached out again on Wednesday through his website, again with no response. I also explained that I would be traveling on Thursday with my daughter and would have limited ability to communicate. At 5:00 p.m. on Thursday--the day we had left for our trip--I finally received an email saying that his assistant had accidentally double-booked him and that he would not be coming. The alternatives offered were brunch on the same day as the proposal or dinner the following week after we had already returned home. Neither was a realistic option. He also suggested another chef but left it to me to make the arrangements, despite knowing I was traveling. He later offered to drop off prepared food for us to heat and plate ourselves, which completely changed as unrealistic and missed the point of hiring a private chef for a special occasion. We ultimately had to scramble to find a replacement chef at the last minute and ended up paying approximately four times what we had originally budgeted simply because we had no other choice. While we were incredibly grateful to find someone, it added unnecessary stress to what should have been one of the happiest evenings our family has shared together. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What was most disappointing was the lack of communication, the late notice, and the absence of a meaningful effort to make things right. For an event of this importance, reliability is every bit as important as culinary talent. I cannot comment on the food because we never had the opportunity to experience it. I can only speak to the complete lack of accountability, and based on that experience, I would not feel comfortable relying on this chef for an important event where timing and dependability matter.

We rented a couple of grand worth of items from them, but I never felt like they were expensive. The items we rented from farm tables, to chairs, to two tents, always felt priced right. The items also came in pretty good shape and I was not let down by any item I saw delivered. I think they take care of their items well after they are rented out. The customer service was exceptional. Phone calls were returned quickly and in a friendly manner. Every time I came in I didn't have too long to wait to be helped. The staff did a wonderful job of remembering all the details we mentioned about the wedding from the theme to the items we had ordered or thought about ordering. We went with a rustic theme and the staff helped us choose the right items to fit the theme. Delivery was the day before the wedding and it went well. The guys who delivered all the items worked hard to put everything together on a hot and sunny June day. I had left for honeymoon, but pickup was also quick and easy. If you are planning any event in this area this is the authority on tent and party rentals. Every aspect from price, to delivery, to customer service was better than I could have hoped. They exceeded expectations and helped make my wedding a beautiful day. I will always be a fan of L & L and I won't hesitate to use them in the future. Thank you so much!

Julie from OTW ILM LLC is the best choice for any occasion…read more I knew Julie from her coming into the restaurant where I worked over the years, and she was always incredibly sweet and hilarious. When our 7-year-old passed away recently, I knew we might need a driver on the day of the funeral. We were all far too emotional to drive, and it was going to be a very long day, with the burial site an hour away. I immediately thought of Julie. She was always so kind, and if I was going to give anyone my business, I wanted it to be her. I was also a little curious to see Julie in that setting because I had never seen her serious--she's always the most bubbly person, making funny jokes and being super fun to be around. But this was a very sad day for us. On the day of the funeral, Julie arrived early. I was crying until I was supposed to be ready and getting ready when I should have been leaving. Julie was extremely patient and kind and never made me feel rushed. After the funeral, we drove an hour away, and she was so compassionate and easy to be around. That was saying a lot at the time because, honestly, almost everyone felt hard to be around. She was so patient waiting for us and offered the kids drinks at the burial. We ended up being way over schedule, but she never once brought it up or made us feel bad. She waited patiently everywhere we went, helped us carry all of our things, and kept us on track. I already knew she was kind, and I knew she was funny, but I could never have imagined having anyone else there playing the role she did that day. She was incredible. After the day we spent with her, I now consider her a lifelong friend. If I could have sent a $1,000 tip, it would have been worth every penny, but funerals are extremely expensive, and unfortunately, I can't do that. So I just want to highly recommend her instead. If you want a driver who is super fun, she's your girl (trust me, you can't shock her!). But she is also amazing for something as personal and difficult as what we were dealing with. I truly can't recommend her enough. If you are going to spend money on a driver, please make it her.
