Being new to Oklahoma, finding a new hairstylist has been a tedious task. Prior to going to Mather…read moreHair, I went to one other place, and my hair expectations were let down. So after about a month of scouring the internet for The One for me. Based on the spectacular reviews of this place, I decided to check it out. Once I saw Jordania's profile, I knew she is the one for me. My consult with her was great. She listened to my hopes, desires and concerns with understanding. I'm that rare natural blonde that actually wants to go brown. She was extremely thorough with explaining the process of going brunette with balayage, and even explained the even longer process to go back to blonde if I do so choose. My appointment to have my hair done was absolutely wonderful! She's so easy to talk to and just a delight! She's such a sweet and down to earth lady with remarkable hair skills. She made me feel like a beauty queen. Even the other staff around just made me feel so welcome and good about myself. Also the salon itself is beautiful. Very chic, modern, well lit and clean. Even the hair wash basins are super comfortable and didn't hurt my neck. Now I'm a brunette and I'm absolutely in love with my hair! Beautiful color and amazing texture! My hair is so soft, silky and shiny. Jordania also showed me how to used certain products to help give volume at my roots. She's an absolute darling and I just adore her and her work! I'm definitely going back to her! I highly recommend Jordania!

I have like a big black hole and just did the front in the top and I told him I wanted a light toner and he gave me a yellow gray toner just saying I $330 plus tip go elsewhere. Then I ask him to cut my hair straight across and I wanted the front a little longer than the back and he end up using a curved scissors to cut my hair. Looks like frappe and then they cut the front short. I thought oh my God I've never gone back $330 plus tip is not worth it. Do not go to him. It's just the name his work is not that good

I moved to Tulsa over a year ago and have been searching for a new stylist spouse. I tried one…read moreabout three times when I got here, but it just didn't work out. I chose Nicole based on her stylist description on the website. She's experienced and an artist in life more than just hair, so I felt she would be able to take control when I told her what I wanted. I'm open for a conversation to get to what's realistic based on upkeep, home styling, and my hair type. I rely on hair stylists expertise and many do not seem comfortable taking the reins on it, even though they should, IMO, since they are the professional. She delivered and then some. She is very knowledgeable. She explains things in a way that you can tell she just knows her stuff and she wants to make sure you understand where you two are going. She puts importance in giving you what you want, but also explaining how it will work based on how much time you want to spend on your hair and upkeep. Since this was our first meeting, I only did haircut (which is more important than color and requires an artful eye to shape, personality, etc), but we discussed color and she's on it. She knows her stuff and I feel super comfortable letting her work on me next time. I've had the privilege of having some really talented stylists coming from California. This salon has at least one talented lady here that I can speak of and they are very lucky to have her!

I visited this salon requesting an Aveda gray lowlight color treatment and a flattering cut. I left…read morewith a very crooked haircut, confirmed by the next stylist who cut my hair, and a color that turned brassy and orange within weeks. I had no way of knowing at the time despite the standard mirror check. I tipped 20% because I always tip and because I had no idea yet what had been done. When I called to address the color issue, the manager was immediately hostile. She later confirmed, without apparent awareness of what she was admitting, that the stylist, Christine, had applied Ash Brown Level 7, not the gray level 4 from the Aveda Demi+ line I'd requested and that Christine told me she would use. The manager even said she didn't know anything about color levels but confirmed that the gray Aveda line was sitting in plain site on their shelf. And Christine applied a completely different product than what I consented to. Had I known, I would have walked out, because I specifically told her not to put brown in my hair because it would turn brassy. I then contacted an Aveda school in Austin who confirmed the wrong products were used and offered to correct the damage themselves. I compiled documentation and research but the manager and the always unavailable owner of the salon refused to review any of it. The salon's offered remedy was to have the same stylist who had lied to me about the products she used, fix the damage she caused. I declined. No way. They considered this offer sufficient. I did not. I filed a dispute with American Express. Only then did the owner contact me, but to berate me. No accountability was taken despite Christine's own admission through the manager. Their refund policy was never disclosed at time of service either verbally or in writing, which they are required to do. They then used my 20% tip to twist things as evidence that I was satisfied. A word of advice: Do not tip your stylist until you are certain they did what they said they would do. I learned this the hard way. Make them show you the actual tubes of color they're mixing. Additionally, roughly two to three months ago the manager appeared in my Facebook feed. I had not contacted this business in well over a year. I found it deeply unsettling that she sought me out on social media long after the fact. Christine's name appears in multiple negative reviews for this business. There is a pattern here. Proceed with caution.

As you can imagine, you can look up many places and ask for recommendations that take hours of time. After reading about Tulsa Style services, I called and Jenny asked me three questions about what I needed and told me Teresa was the best for foils and cutting Bob hairstyles. I originally reviewed this business due to the quick response, but have changed my review to reflect the bad experience I had with the coloring of my hair that changed my hair to a brassy orange color, with a dark color in stripes as a correction, when I requested foils on the crown of the head for grow out only. Perhaps a misunderstanding and thankfully not one that I needed to live with for too long, but the cost of this experience and the cost to have someone else correct and restore the damaged hair safely, has been an expensive lesson.

Lou Brewer, the colorist, helped me decide what color to get. I wanted a rose gold look and she said with a bleach and toner, we could come close. It all depended on how much of the box color would be lifted out. She was patient, sweet, and very funny. She was very thorough and made sure my hair was to my liking before she trimmed it. She straightened it and then curled it afterwards to make it look as much like the photo I had brought. Best of all, the whole appointment was covered by my Groupon! I would use her services again no questions asked. I recommend Tulsa Style and Lou Brewer to anyone!
