Her tools were all laid out ahead of time, with clean fluffy brushes and all her makeup products organized just a step away. She took her time and was quite thorough with every step of the makeup, starting with the consultation and inspiration. I opted for a shimmery, pearly look to match my theme and dress. Emily was able to match my color perfectly and made me look airbrushed which was amazing. I found her to be very responsive and amenable when I asked to focus on certain areas like contouring my jawline or adding more blush. We found the perfect eyelashes and she really emphasized my eyes, which looked so much bigger after she did her magic. I found myself looking over the products she used and I was happy to see lots of brands I personally used and recognized on top of luxury brands. And she's a bad liar...you know the type: they ramble, they over explain, etc. Simply put: she does business dirty. Unless you have a wedding with a large party that will make her more money she won't be loyal to your booking. Lastly, it took over 12 hours from the time it was confirmed I would not be using her, a venmo request, and a text to get my deposit refunded while I scrambled to find a replacement. On the day of the wedding, the venue limited the amount of time we had to get ready, so the three appointments needed to be done back to back in a fairly tight timeframe. All of this to say, we were probably weren't the easiest of clients to work with, but Yuri was professional and patient. She accommodated our needs and did a great job, too. She was always really friendly and explained everything I needed to know really clearly. Most of our wedding vendors replied to messages within 24 hours, and her timeline was more like 2-4 days (not a long time, but when trying to coordinate multiple appointments with multiple vendors in tight timeframes, this could feel like a long time), and that's the only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5. During the trial, she paid close attention and took detailed notes on how I wanted my make-up done while also recommending what she thought was best for my face. I am someone who is really into make-up and am very particular and detailed with it, so I am typically wary of other people doing my make-up. I have also had other professional make-up artists not do a good job on my make-up in the past, so I was very impressed and happy with how professional and talented Mayra was.
