The timing depends on my cowlick. If it sticks out like a horn and my hair looks like a Patti LaBelle wig then it's time to go. Harry my brother in law told me to see Anthony in Margate. Great guy. He's funny and he curses, my two most favorite attributes. He cuts my hair and tells me that for 6 decades I've been doing it wrong. He said I should grow out the cowlick beyond my other hair and then glue it down in its natural direction. He did that, and even glued it down and he gave me a bottle of White Rain to do it. I am a big fan of Dominican barbershops like this one: old school places where they use a straight…read morerazor , where reggaeton or bachata is often the soundtrack, a man's domain.. this is pretty typical. the ones in Washington Heights in NY have a bit more atmosphere, but you can get a good haircut here and the Dominican ambience is definitely here.. but not if you are in a rush. be prepared to wait quite awhile, at least that was my experience as a walk-in client on a sunday afternoon, not surprisingly a very busy time..
