But he did not follow the photos I provided, and in my opinion, my hair did NOT look good when leaving. I asked for loose beachy curls and my curls looks more like a pageant girl. I was also quoted $45 over the phone (wash, dry, curl). He charged me $65 because of "the time", even though he didn't wash my hair and my visit took 1 hour and 10 minutes. I went back to my hotel and washed my hair to get the curl out.

I've had good, solid hair dressers here who give a good quick trim, but I've also had stylists who seem to be too gossipy and disinterested in what I want. But this afternoon, I walked in on a whim and I am so glad I did. Julie is the absolute best hair dresser I have had in years and I don't say that lightly. I am so thrilled to pieces with my cut and color I can't even express it well enough. She was quick, but thorough and efficient. She listened and delivered EXACTLY the look I wanted. She went with a good instinct and tried a new technique she'd learned about that she thought would suit me and she was right. I don't want the same textbook, cookie cutter looks - I want a creative person to give me something fresh and new. Julie did. Also, I have thinning hair, so it's hard for me to go to salons since many hair dressers are obvious and clumsy when dealing with women with hair problems. Julie was exceptionally friendly, positive and found what worked for me and never made me feel self-conscious. I haven't found a consistent hairdresser in years but I think I have now. I'm getting so many compliments on my hair (and eyebrows - she waxed them!). My friends say this is the best my hair has looked in ages.
