Nadia was very friendly! We called late on a Sunday asking for same-day appointment. I could tell she wanted to wrap up her day but was willing to squeeze in his cut. We agreed to a time and when we arrive, we were greeted. We only waited a short time before someone came to shampoo his hair. While that was happening, in true last-minute form, I asked if there was any chance I could get a wash and blow dry. I gave her an out - and said NO is an acceptable answer given how late in the day it was and the thickness of my hair. Again, Nadia was agreeable and had another gal to do this (missed her name but very sweet and skilled at blow dry). My son has longer hair, passed his chin and was very happy with the cut that she gave him. I was also very happy with my wash and blow dry. What drew me to the salon was the positive reviews and the reasonable prices. I can attest Nadia's salon is an excellent value!! Quality service, at a small salon, for great rates. Gives a local "regulars" vibe, and for those with lots of thick and/or curly hair...they are not afraid and can work with this type of hair well.

Something New That Made My Wimpy "White Guy " Hair Work! So I go to see Shane to "Fix" a Hair Cut that wasn't' working so well. It was stuck FLAT to my head and had NO texture at all. Plus it was just too short and just Wrong. Shane explained to me that he had a "texturizing" process he could do to give my hair cut that "2-week" later look with Tons of texture. The best way I can describe it is my hair had that "ocean" feel to it. It moved and stayed where I wanted it and it had TONS of texture. It even "lighted" up my color just enough to look "sun kissed" (but it wasn't' color..go figure). I have NEVER had anyone suggest such a treatment but I am very happy I did it. It was a chemical type process that stayed on my hair for (I think) 20 min and it was pretty uneventful until we washed it out and WOW! My hair stayed where ever I put it with no effort. (Can you tell I'm happy :) ). What can I say but thanks Shane. I'm almost afraid to tell anyone because I don't want you to get so busy you cant see me! Oh well....gotta pay if forward. Awesome, thanks! read more

SHANE IS FABULOUS! he has the knowledge and the know how with the products (and chemical compositions) to get you an amazing color. I've done salons before and i've made my own salon in my bathroom when $ didn't permit a visit to the salon. Shane has made me change my ways by never wanting to touch a drugstore purchased dye kit. I now save up to make sure i can visit him evey 6-8wks for my color touch up. I had a hideous color correction when I first visited Shane. He took a breath and cleaned up my do style and the color in a VERY adept manner. He used 3 different colors, combining these as partial lowlights along with an all over tone to create a natural yet super hip color. A thousand compliments later helped to reinforce that I have a new Stylist - SHANE VANCE. Talented, sweet and darn good at what he does. If you need a new color and style (a touch up on what you already have going on) or just a blowout - Shane will take care of ya! PS: im very picky about the end result when i have to shell out $ as im very frugal. Shane is worth every penny. read more

I was referred here and received such bad treatment. I went in for a color treatment and walked out with Tiger Stripes and 230.00 less. I hope that another salon can fix this disaster. Shane looked over my hair which was in great condition with the exception of a few grays. Then he flipped through his look book to give me some options. I admired a brunette with dimension in her hair. I ended up with overprocessed hair. As a first time client, I am amazed at the prices a blow dry at 40.00, a partial weave at 65.00, single process which was solely applied to my roots 70.00 and a gloss at 35.00. Wow, my friend has much better looking hair and pays 150.00. I am so disappointed. Never coming back. He commented that he works on commission so I guess that is why. read more

I have been coming to Michele for nearly a decade. She's the ONLY person I will let cut my hair. I have curly hair, but often wear it straight. She understands not to use a razor on it, she manages my expectations when I'm desperate for a change and want to do something impulsive, and most important, she knows what a TRIM is. She has a micro-trim that really shapes hair without seeming to remove any of the length. So I always leave with flawless ends but not feeling that I've sacrificed my attempt to grow it out. Her salon is warm and comfortable, they have manicurists and nail techs, as well as makeup and eyebrow services. Fabulous staff, too. A seriously good shampoo! read more

I tried most of the hair salons in Encino and when I finally tried Salon Michele, I knew this was the one. The salon is clean, friendly and up-to-the-minute current! The stylists & staff are all amazing. On my first visit, Michele spent 3 hours correcting what other salons had done to destroy my hair color and texture. (curly red hair) I cried when I saw the beautiful result. 3 months ago, I let her create artistic high & low lights and I can't go anywhere without tons of compliments about my hair. Yep, even my bad hair days are good! With so many salons in the area, do yourself a favor and call Salon Michele. read more

I've gone to a few stylist who did an okay job, but I was never quiet happy with the result. Ultimately, I just gave up and resigned myself to life as a brunette. That way until I met Tomi from Butterfly Loft! I figured I'd give it one last shot and booked an appointment based on the yelp reviews and a friends recommendation. Tomi and his assistant Venessa were awesome. Tomi took the time to really look at my hair and understood exactly what I wanted. Then he got it done in a reasonable amount of time. I had forgotten to ask how much the color would be and have to say, was a little nervous about the final amount would be, since he was so experienced.
