In all my 24 years of life I've never had an experience like I've had today. About a month ago I decided to give this spot a try, it was for my 7 year old son who wanted to shape his frohawk back. It took a couple "how's this for you mom" before we got out of there. In fact she wouldn't even touch the top because it had to "grow" out to be shaped, now I'm not a stylist but I did attend cosmetology school and I know that you start shaping the style that you want gradually, this lady was just LAZY!
I'm not sure what I was thinking but I mistakingly came back to give them another try but this time I wanted by son to have a zero on the sides, high fade and a 5 on top. My son was waved over by a different girl than our first visit( this one with brown hair with red high lights). Ten minutes pass and I look over to see her quickly grabbing a tissue and patting my sons head, I walk up to the chair and notice almost a 2 inch long cut on the back of my son's ear! She dusted him off with a half ass apology and began taking off his smock like she was finished. I had to show her that it was just all wrong, first off, by just looking in the mirror you could see that one side was higher than the other and in the back the fade looked "U" shaped, it was horrible! She said she'd fix it but she just kept cutting the sides higher and barely touched the uneven mess in the back. I ONCE AGAIN, tried to step back and SHOW her that from one side to the other was not straight. As soon as i started to explain she quickly tried to work at it again and didn't hesitate to start voicing her frustrations in Vietnamese. I'm only half asian but girlfriend this girl here knows a little bit of what your speakin! She began complaining to the girl in the next station who quickly met eyes with me and remained silent because even she was observant enough to realize that I could understand. She said that she didn't know what else to do with all of my complaining and a few seconds later there goes the comb slammed on the station table and surprisingly in ENGLISH she says "she's gointo finish hair fo you koz you keep say to fix but i can not fix, you want her do for you or wha you want?" Really at this point, I had to refrain myself from running up out of my chair and slapping this girl for her getting frustrated with my son sitting in that chair anxiously waiting after 25 minutes, how could she be frustrated at us for her own lack of skills to do her dang job. My son sat patiently in the chair with his ear still stinging and his fade still looking like the San Andreas Fault. I just came back with a "yea whatever it just needs to get done the right way.." as soon as we switched girls the new one (who we had for the first visit) seen exactly what was wrong, but unfortunately the quitter had faded it so high to try and fix the sides that it wasn't even fixable at that point. My son came out looking ridiculous with a new nasty cut. The girl who tried to help us apologized several times and before we headed out the door the quitter said "sorry I cut him" in the most insincere voice and sat down. And yes, they still had me pay for the service.
I didn't catch her name but I'll be going back to acquire that information since I've been advised to contact the State Board and the Better Business Bureau.
Advice, if you make a mistake you should be professional enough to fix it and be polite about it. We're paying for a service but if you know your not capable don't sit people in your chair. Customers don't like our time being wasted just like we don't like taking your chair space for the money you could be making on a service you ARE capable of doing. Don't assume that speaking in your native tongue is a loop hole for professionalism, because you never know who understands. I'm so disgusted with this experience. read more
