I have been getting Dominican blowouts my entire life.** I first went because the salon advertises Dominican blowouts. However, the results did not match what I expected from that service. The blowouts here typically only lasted about one day. I continued returning mostly because it was easy to schedule appointments since it's a one-woman business. After some time she began coloring my hair. While the coloring was initially better than the blowouts, the overall quality gradually declined over time. For example, during blowout appointments I was sometimes not placed under the dryer, which is usually a key step in a Dominican blowout. I eventually stopped focusing on the blowouts and mainly came in just for highlights, sometimes even urging her not to put me under the hairdryer because why bother. Despite consistently asking for bright blonde highlights, I noticed a pattern where the color sometimes came out darker than what I requested on some visits (it seemed intentional). I communicated my dissatisfaction and I was met with blame, unawareness and passive aggression instead. She had to fix my hair two days after coloring and highlighting (with more highlights) causing more stress on my hair-strands since it was done sloppy the first time. Another uncomfortable aspect was that personal conversations I had shared in the salon were later referenced in a way that felt inappropriate to me. After that experience, I regretted sharing personal information with her, but it's okay, what comes around comes back around. I also observed situations where other people's children in the salon were scolded by her, which felt unprofessional in that environment. Overall, the declining quality of the services and the way concerns were handled are the reasons I will not be returning. I hope this feedback helps others decide whether the salon is the right fit for them.

I'm kicking myself in the boots for not going with a more up to date make up & hair artist thinking I was going to get a decent experience here for a cheaper price, and then ended up paying more than a skilled makeup and hair place. First, I asked for Hollywood waves over email. The email came back saying my pictures were glam waves, so I said sure I'll do glam waves. When my hair was 'finished' curling, the front of the hair was not styled at all so I asked for more curls in the front. That ended up being a '2nd style' (at check out mind you, not during) ~ and then she proceeds to tell me 'this is Hollywood waves, not glam waves' Second, the make up artist Leslie, kept asking me what kind of look I wanted so I gave her exact instructions of what I liked. When we got to the bottom of the eyes, she just put dark colors everywhere and I looked ghoulish- I asked her to brighten it up and she asked for a picture. So I pull up a picture of a Vietnamese bride, and immediately she looks at it and says 'that's Korean make up. You need to go look for a Korean Make up artist'. I was so shocked by that comment I wanted to leave then and there but wanted to still finish the trial I signed up for. This ended up being $500 because they're calling me asking for her to complete the look, two different make up and two hair styles. I asked for the bottom part of the eyes to be brightened so that was a second make up look, and asking to style the front of the hair was called a second hair look... which all happened through the way she went about asking random questions as she's doing the make up and hair during the appointment vs. having a holistic conversation up front in the beginning. I just feel so bamboozled. Also the chairs they have you sitting is extremely uncomfortable with a low back- I honestly can't believe I was charged more to sit there and go through this experience. My back hurt for the next few days. I reached out to the business for clarification and they just simply said I got two hair looks and two make up looks, except I don't have two finished looks anywhere but just one of each. No pictures of two separate looks as they were not finished. I should have said I am not paying that then and there but I was so tired I had no energy to argue, and had to go to another meeting next. I can't recommend a business that 1) is not clear about their policy -- they need to tell you ahead of time 'if you're asking me to add this color to the bottom of your eyes, I'm going to charge another $100 for this look' instead of asking for feed back for every single thing (I'm not the makeup artist here!). I gave one feedback throughout the session and that ended up being a 'second look' and 2) immediately classifies something as 'Korean makeup' because I show a picture of an Asian woman, and tells me to go find a Korean make up artist.

The removal of one hair in the wrong area can alter the look of my eyebrows tremendously. I can't tell you how many wax appointments I have left in tears (as well as plenty curse words and rolled eyes to people that claim they have experience with facial hair particularly pertaining to my heritage just to get inside my wallet). The precision and intelligence in this industry Ashley has is devine. It is obvious she has spent countless hours practicing and perfecting her technique. In all, I will never trust anyone with Microblading my eyebrows after this experience. It has almost been 2 years and the ink on my brows are still going strong. I am an extreme baby when it comes to pain. (I have experience getting laser hair removal and lip injections) Ashley made sure I was numb the entire time. I've heard so many horror stories of the pain people endure during their Microblading procedure. I relaxed and just listened to music.
