This is exactly why so many people have trust issues when trying a new hairdresser. I asked for a…read morebalayage with caramel highlights and instead received a choppy, brassy, untoned result that looked nothing like what was requested. This work was done by Madelynn. While we were extremely disappointed with both the color outcome and the obvious lack of blending and transition throughout the hair, what ultimately prompted me to leave this review was her response when concerns were raised. Rather than acknowledging the issues, she became defensive when dissatisfaction with the service was expressed. When a refund was requested due to the poor results, there was significant resistance before she eventually agreed to refund less than half of the amount paid. $150 for this inexperienced "balayage" service is a scam. Mistakes can happen, but professionalism, accountability, and a willingness to make things right matter just as much as the service itself. Unfortunately, this experience fell short in all of those areas.

Amy at the Shear Shoppe has cut my hair several times and each time, I leave there SO happy with…read morethe cut I got. Recently I got a Groupon for another salon (Serendipity) in Huntersville and WHAT a mistake. You can read my review on that salon to get more info, but I was SO unhappy with my haircut from there. About a week after my horrible experience at Serendipity, I called Amy up and asked her to fix my hair. I LOVE my new haircut and I won't stray from Amy and the Shear Shoppe again! She does thorough consultations, listens to what you want, gives you a great head rub when she is washing your hair (a LOT of people don't do this anymore...isn't a haircut supposed to be sort of spa-like and relaxing)? Anyway, her prices are also SO reasonable. Love this place!
