I've missed her and her amazing talent. I was able to talk my husband in to driving to Ellicottville so I could get my hair done by Tracy. I went to see her today and once again she worked her magic with my hair. The trip, although it wasn't a crazy long drive, was so worth it. When I called Margie 6 months prior to the wedding, I thought there would only be 6 of us getting our hair done. As everyone know, things change and we ended up with 11! Margie was able to accommodate these changes no problem even when I called to add another girl a week before the wedding. She encouraged us to bring snacks and champagne and even gave us a lesson in the proper way to apply makeup. You can really tell she has a passion for this kind of work. The hair cut / quality is better than most of the stylists in metropolin areas like New York City, LA, Chicago. That is because Margie is a Board Certified Master Colorist who takes the time to explain the water in our area and how that affects your color. She is the most detailed stylist I've ever been too and I don't know how she juggles so many clients, but she does. She designs each persons color/style in the same way a board certified colorist would in Los Angelos and that is what means a lot to me. Everyone wants nice hair and it's nice to have someone who can use color (not bleach) to give me my blond hair without frying it which a lot of women know what i mean when I say that. I have found as I get older, having nice hair means more to me because I have less of it! Margie is an intelligent businessowner and artist, but she is kind and generous. She does not take advantage of her clients like many Salons do and she doesn't try to push products hard. If your hair looks great and you like what she has used, you can just ask her what was used and buy it. Nothing complicated and no pressure ever. Margie talks and works fast, so you may not realize she is weaving highlights and lowlights into your hair in the pattern most flattering for your face (angled for example). She leaves part of my hair darker underneath and it gives me a more youthful look like when I was in my 20's, but my hair has long layers to the shoulders and feels so soft after she has done her thing. I've traveled 1.5 hours to have Margie do my color/cut for a few years now and only wish she lived where I do. I am able to see her at least 3-4 times / year and her work leaves me feeling wonderful. The bright women and men in Warren know they are getting a $3-400 job and only being charged around $90-120 which includes cut. Some people want $40 color, but then their hair is not healthy and looks fried. If you want to have healthier and sharp looking hair like women in Hollywood, spend a little bit more and take good care of your hair and get it done less often so you can make it affordable. The girls are so open to accommodating whatever style you like and being flexible if you want to change it up. This team of women came ON SITE to my wedding ceremony. They were there on time and ready to go! I had a bridal party of 5 girls, my mother in law, and myself and everyone looked flawless. The airbrush makeup was such a clean and beautiful look, I felt stunning with every blotch and blemish completely invisible. I cannot say enough about how professional the entire staff was. I was pretty happy at first with my experience at Forbici, but after a second time visiting, I am not very impressed. My first experience at Forbici was nice. The owner, Kyla Johnson, was my stylist. She seemed genuinely interested in my wishes, and was very fun to talk to. I ended up with a fabulous haircut, even though the Side Swept Bangs that I had asked for turned into a simple, long-layered look. It turned out really great, so I couldn't complain at all. I had also asked for my thick hair to be thinned out a bit. Kyla, not being used to my hair yet, went mild on the thinning, which is better than taking too much or shaping it funny. Again, no complaint. The second time I went in, the salon was busy, and I waited for 15-20 minutes after my appointment time to be seated in the stylist's chair. The stylist then went back and forth between me and the woman who was there before me, seeming frustrated, tired, or overwhelmed, and definitely preoccupied. When I finally received a bit of personal attention, I asked more specifically for the fringe I had been looking for since my first visit, going so far as to bring an array of photographs of the style I wanted - including pictures of the style on me (I'd had them done a couple years ago) and on a variety of models and celebrities. What I ended up with was not attractive at all. I felt like I was not being heard - even with Photos of exactly what I wanted, and an explanation that I had gotten that style before (again - with photographic evidence!), I kept getting back "I can't really do that with the shape of your hairline." The bangs were a blunt cut - a boring unshaped change in the length of my hair. When I asked about a little more thinning this time round, I realized that the only thinning being done each time was down at the ends of my hair - not internally closer to my scalp, which I then asked for. Again I was told that my request was not something that could be done, even though I've had it done at three separate salons around the country. Two weeks after my last visit, I went to a different local salon and got exactly what I'd been asking for the whole time. I found, over all, that Forbici, while presenting a certain high level of class, falls very short when it comes to actual breadth of knowledge in style and technique.
