My hair came out a dark brown/near-black, where the inspo photo I walked through with the colorist is a warm caramel balayage with golden highlights, pretty light overall not this dark mess I have. But the worst part was what happened after. Before I even had a chance to process the results, staff started loudly asking me to pay in cash -- repeatedly, every few minutes, in front of a full salon. It was embarrassing and felt more like harassment than customer service. I shouldn't have to feel pressured and humiliated after dropping money on a service that didn't deliver. Won't be back. Below is what I asked for vs. what I got.

I came in looking for a fresh new look, and she absolutely delivered--both with color and cut. The color is stunning--rich, dimensional, and exactly what I was hoping for (and somehow even better!). She took the time to understand what I wanted, offered helpful suggestions, and explained every step of the process along the way. My hair has never looked or felt healthier. As for the cut--flawless. She shaped it perfectly to flatter my face and gave me a style that's easy to manage but still feels modern and polished. Imagine is not only talented, but kind, professional, and truly passionate about what she does. You can tell she cares deeply about making her clients feel confident and beautiful. I walked out feeling like a new person! Highly recommend Imagine to anyone looking for a hairdresser who gets it. I'm already looking forward to my next appointment.

I requested that she cut my then chin length hair to be even all around. It was still longer in the back than the sides. Before I could complain, she lopped off the sides, This is not at all what I requested. I will not go back since the operator did not listen to what I wanted either time I was there nor will I ever recommend them. If I could give them no stars, I would.

This was my first time at this salon and my first time with ColorbyVal. I am extremely…read moredisappointed and won't be returning. I made my appointment for a full head of highlights weeks in advanced. Val suggested I highlight my crown since the hair at the nape of neck had some breakage. I was ok with that but, she still could have given me at least a half a head of highlights. The breakage was minimal, at the base of my neck and unnoticeable. I told Val I loved her Instagram and wanted exactly that - icy white highlights. The colorist I previously went to made my hair orange and I said I am looking to avoid that. She nodded as if she understood what I was saying. I asked for a blow out when we are done but, Val said she didn't have time and was running behind. I don't know how that is possible since she just cut my appointment in half by only highlighting my crown and not my whole head. Throughout the appointment Val seemed preoccupied and was on her cell phone most of the time. She seemed like she was rushing not because she was behind but because she wanted to get out of there like she had somewhere else she needed to be. I left the salon with a wet head and paid $275 for my highlights in my crown area. When I got home, I blew out my hair and noticed I had brassy orange spots throughout. I messaged Val on Instagram letting her know and she became pretty defensive and unhelpful. She was arguing with me that the orange I was seeing is from the previous colorist, she said I could come in and she would put more highlights in. She said she would get back to me with a time and day .. obviously that never happened. She just didn't seem to care at all and the NEW highlights were done incorrectly. Below is a photo of the freshly done color by Val and my old color done 4 months prior. I also posted a photo of my hair after 2 washes - the toner/gloss is clearly not there anymore and the brass/orange is even more pronounced. Like I said this was my first time there and my last. I wish Val cared and took her time with my hair like the work she post on her Instagram but, I did not get that customer service.

So I decided to come to her old job, which is this one. I paid $402 for my hair appointment and unfortunately did not receive the hairstyle I had specifically requested. I came the second time, I still didn't get what I had requested. I was very disappointed with the final result, especially considering the amount I paid. After expressing my concerns, I was told that the owner would reach out to me to address the situation. It has now been over a month, and I still have not received a call, message, or any follow-up whatsoever. I understand that things can happen and that not every service goes perfectly, but what really disappointed me was the lack of communication and customer service afterward. If a customer spends $402 on a service and is unhappy with the result, I believe their concerns should be taken seriously and addressed in a timely manner. I gave the salon the opportunity to follow up before leaving this review, but after more than a month of waiting, I feel that my experience deserves to be shared. I would not recommend spending this amount of money somewhere where there is no follow-up or accountability when a customer is dissatisfied.
