The shop looks like any other African braiding shop. The lady who braided my hair got sassy with me in the beginning because we weren't understanding each other in what I wanted but I trusted her and it came out great! I didn't like however, how you could clearly tell they were taking about other customers (me included I'm sure). I know I don't fully understand their language but I can use my context clues to make out what they were saying and the lady braiding my hair was the ring leader.

One of the more impressive things was that Sherry was able to book me the very day I was making my inquiry. She was quick to respond to my message to boot! After a brief consult and a glance at my Pin It picture of what I wanted, Sherry assured me that she could do the job. I am very pleased with the end result. I also had an opportunity to see another customer's makeover (went from a brunette to a highlighted blonde!) which was incredible. I have already booked my next appointment. The space is spacious; a historic old warehouse of sorts. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the Retreat spa this afternoon, and recommend anyone in the vicinity looking for a new stylist to come give Sherry a try. You won't be disappointed.

First off the lady burned me on numerous occasions and I left with burnt popcorn smelling hair which I know means I have heat damage. Here's the kicker they charged me $62!! I asked why it was so much if all they did was flat ironed it. No washing no conditioning. The other lady (the boss is my guess) in a mix of Spanish and English said it's all the same price , even if I didn't get it washed. She took $5 off but that still wasn't enough for what was done to my hair. My scalp is still burning as I type this. And this burnt smell is terrible. The only reason I'm not totally upset is because I blame myself for not asking how much it would be ahead of time. Just a word of warning to ask the prices of everything BEFORE you get anything done here.
