While many newsagents stock solely tinned and convenience food, Holborns also carried a large selection of fresh fruit, veg, meats and refrigerated foods. I remember stopping by there when I needed that certain ingredient for a recipe, thinking no way they'll have this, but I'll try and sure enough, there it was. Hooray! They carry fireworks and Christmas trees during the appropriate times of year. They also offer a newspaper delivery service, and, if I'm remembering right, a grocery delivery service for a small fee.

The have a reasonable selection of fresh fruit and vegeatables, as well as the standard tins and packets you expect from a convienience store, as well as a good range of magazines and newspapers. The staff are very friendly , and keep the shop neat and tidy. The best thing is that the prices are reasonable, perhaps not as cheap as a supermarket but so much more convienient for bits and pieces.

However if one makes price comparisons the co-op is cheaper, with a wider selection of food. This store has the best selection of magazines in Woodhatch, and you can play the lottery. It is not a complete list of magazines but you get a wide array. A pretty wide alcohol selection, and also boasts the best cash machine in the local vicinity, the only one that doesn't charge you to withdraw your own money. The price you pay for goods is slightly more expensive than a supermarket. They are expanding their range, with the inclusion of a number of cheap dvd's and cd's that retail for approximately £4.
