Love my Church! Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. ...

I am reviewing Christ Tabernacle so those who might be looking for services on Resurrection weekend who don't know where to go if you live in Brooklyn this is a good choice. Christ Tabernacle is a non denominational church that is racially mixed as any NYC church should be racially mixed. In fact I would never go to a church with only one or two nationalities. Here is their schedule of services for this coming weekend. Easter Service times: Saturday, April 23rd at 7pm; Sunday, April 24th at 8:30am; 10:15am; 12pm; 1:45pm, and; 3:30pm in Spanish. Christ Tabernacle is a sister Church to the Brooklyn Tabernacle. It is nearly impossible to get a seat at the Brooklyn Tabernacle so you might want to head here instead. It has been around for years. Here is a link to the history of Christ Tabernacle. http://www.christtabernacle.org/default.asp?contentID=7 My own first hand experience is as a visitor not a member. However I just refereed 2 teenagers in crisis to Christ Tabernacle as they have programs for all ages and lifestyles. I actually did not grow up believing in God at all. I thought erroneously that faith and science did not mix. Until I came to the light of more updated scientific proof of the claims of the bible. This is only one of many web sites that is up to date regarding the proof of the existence of God and claims of the bible. http://www.reasons.org/ I eventually realized it was not very smart not to believe in God. I first came to faith at the Brooklyn Tabernacle back in the mid 80's. I was pretty antagonistic to anyone who would try to talk to me about God until I had my own personal experience with God first at the Brooklyn Tabernacle. "A man with an experience is never at the mercy of a man with an argument." - Rod Walford Some of my friends from the Brooklyn Tabernacle went to Christ Tabernacle to help out in the music ministry and other ministries and they liked it better than the Brooklyn Tabernacle. They said it is more down to earth and the people are friendly. It is a real Brooklyn church with a Brooklyn vibe with real New Yorkers who attend. Because the church is less famous but just as good you are more likely to get a seat on a holiday than the more famous churches like the Brooklyn Tabernacle. The church does not revolve around the pastor or his name of the choir but around God. That is a good thing. Whoever posted the web site was incorrect. I don't know what that site is. Here is the correct web site. http://www.christtabernacle.org/

The snow turned to ice overnight n Middle Village didn't get salted. Accomplished downhill skier, very good ice skater but face plants and slip sliding across walkways and parking lots are yearly occurances. I tried to hide my coffee behind a bush next to the church, but a branch stuck the cup in the side piercing the top and knocking the coffee on my foot which began to smoke from the steam but felt kinda nice for 3 seconds. I propped up what was left, placed my crossiant on top (which some punk arse squirrel made off with when I was inside). The church is small, built in the mid 1960s, four rows creating a semi circle with a limited vestibule covered in a faux rock wall design. Exposed wood beams forming a big top shape with stained glass windows between the stations of the cross brass pictures made the mornings reflective light dance up in the pews.

There aren't any children's mass teachings nor is there a designated music balcony or section. Whoever designed this church was architecture ignorant and had no forethought in what makes a church functional and practical. There are excellent people who volunteer at the church but the authority obviously doesn't value making more available to the community unless they can afford an overpriced program. Other churches offer more services to the community regardless of income.

They have a passion for emotional health and social justice, which are good things. If you want to go, enjoy a good worship experience and an intellectually stimulating message, and you consider yourself a traditional evangelical, this place is fine. You have to be careful if you're looking for a place to build long-term friendships. This place is highly judgmental and polarized. If you rock the boat you won't last long. There are many refugees especially from the worship team - people who got burned out, victimized in particular by the worship pastor (Peter), and eventually excluded from everything because they questioned anything. Assertive, strong women are usually ostracized, unless their husbands are in leadership. If you dare to open up about political issues, some faction of the church will open fire on you. A special note for my LGBTQ friends. You are always welcome, and they are more than willing to help you "overcome" your non-binary, non-cis-gendered issues to be the best version of yourself (note sarcasm).
