During every visit I've had to Paris - this is one stop that's a must.
Saint Merris church is one of my favorites because of the architecture, location, interior, statues, imagery, and the windows are beautiful.
This building is such a great representation of how small things come in great packages. The church is not very large, but it is absolutely stunning. If you stop on certain days, they will have music, staff members walking around to ask questions, and even services.
During a couple Visits, I've seen an Alphorn player, a harpist, and a service. Sometimes there is no one in there, and you're able to walk around and sit and enjoy the silence in a very solitude place.
From my experience, the staff is very kind, and the church members are also just as warm. I did notice during the service some very loud tourists that were disrespectful, please be mindful that this is still a working location as a church. read more
