1st off I want to say this Thrift Store is great! All their profits go to charity for their church & you can even write off your purchases on your taxes. My 1st experience their was wonderful. They have great low prices for nice things. I initially was there to pick up a full size doll house which my mom found their for only $5.00. It is beautiful & we made & bought furniture to put in the house for my niece. I was amazed as they had everything & the prices are extremely cheap & in good condition. They even had stuff I couldn never find other places. I intended to just pick up the doll house but I was in there for hours, mesmerized by all the unique & inexpensive items. I ended up buying toys for my kids & some other toys for my nieces birthday on top of the things I already bought. They had a my little pony unicorn track for $1 and a carriage for track that fits My little ponys for $1. The My little ponys' were in good condition & only 50 cents a pony. I also found a cute onsie in perfect condition for $1. My son's got some awesome toys too including items that would be triple the price or more in a regular store. I was most amazed by the house though. The doll house is 2 story's w/ 4 rooms plus an attic, windows including a beautiful bay window, stairs, fire place, & even a wrap around porch. The house is a beautiful dark oak color on the outside. Inside is lighter wall paper for an option to paint or decorate. The doll house is about 2ft tall and 2 1/2 feet wide and in perfect shape. It is beautiful alone but a great DIY project to work on with your kid. (We made furniture including a really awesome bed w/ a sheet and pillows, a couch, recliners, lamps, and a lot more, we painted tables, dressers, and even found for furniture sets including a chairs, tables, bookshelf, lamps, kitchen stove & other items, dolls (in which I changed to make them have different outfits and hair), a couch, and more, which I got all at Dollar Tree just $1 for each kit including doll in each furniture set and $1 for each light wooden table, dressers etc that we painted. The top to the attic is removable so you can decorate the house with ease and is open in the back to decorate and play. We got it as a sentimental gift for my nieces 1st Bday so my brother and is girl can put together with their daughter as she gets older. As well as we will be adding homemade furniture, & doll house furniture we find & make though out the year. So it's a gift my niece can enjoy and we can add to each year. Plus it was very inexpensive. As I had all the furniture separated so they can spend quality time decorating the house as they want including an option to paint inside the house. I have been there multiple times and other customers in the store I've talked to love this place and it seems they have many regulars. They have excellent prices and in my experience they have great customer service. I know many people who love this store. Unfortunately consumers tend to complain way more than they ever take the time to compliment. Also their are 2 sides to every story. I completely disagree with the previous 3 reviews. My mom goes to this trift store constantly and never once had a problem or bad customer service. I can not imagine any staff member in that store yelling at a kid. I think this was exaggerated. I'm one review it says breifly their kid was riding in the wagon BEFORE they paid for it. This is not a store that any kid should be riding around in an item they have not yet purchased. There are antique & glass items in the store and it's dangerous. Also what if they broke it before buying. In any store you should not let your kid ride around in something you do not own yet as it stated she hadn't bought the item yet. I highly doubt any of their friendly staff yelled at anyone they were probably just asked not to do that which I agree with. I have 2 sons 4 and 8 and my 8 yr old is Autistic and has behavioral issues & both kids want to touch everything as they are kids and boys especially can be destructive. I personally wouldn't bring my children in there as it is a thrift store but somewhat like an antique store. Unless your child is older or well behaved I wouldn't bring my kid in their. However I've seen kids in there who were well behaved. I never once heard any staff member speak down or yell at any kid or adult. So don't base your opinion on the brief 3 reviews on yelp. I have no affiliation other than a customer with the store however I had to take time to compliment this Non Profit thrift store. The prices are more than fair, the staff has always been friendly to me & my mom whose a regular customer and never had one complaint. Anyone I've talked to about St Michaels thrift store has had only had positive things to say only good things to say. I personally think this is best thrift store I've ever been too. I love St Michaels Thrift Shop and always recommend it. Check it out & give your own opinion! It's a great store! read more
